People really have no idea how much prep and hard work goes into these big events. Poor troopers and Guardsmen are up and out at all hours rehearsing, and then cleaning and prepping gear, not only so the riders know what’s expected but also the horses. Ceremonial duties aren’t a soft option by any means. They all work damned hard.
As a veteran guardsman, I did many trooping the colours in the 80s, in the early days the Queen would ride side saddle, hard graft and up at the crack of dawn for rehearsals.

It's Trooping the Colour, not Trooping of the Colour. Big difference! Really ought to know that.
