Met Albert many times with Don over the years. Always friendly and ready to chat. The word legend is used very freely these days but Albert is truly deserving of the title.
Two legends !.. Albert Lee plus Sir Terry Wogan who brough Eva Cassidy to the world's attention through his Radio show. And this is a radio broadcast. Brilliant!
I had the pleasure of sitting and speaking with Albert Lee for about 20 minutes some years ago after a Q and A session sponsored by Sam Ash Music. Mr Lee was jet lagged from flying from England to Calif then to NY for the session. The jet lagged Albert Lee still had what we see here -albeit not as energetic. What a very kind and humble man!
🎸🎸🎸Met him after his shows in Tullamore Ireland early 00's couldn't believe my luck, absolute wizard so down to earth and absolutely no ego , missed this TV Wogan Weekend Special, the glory of utube, thank you Guitar Hero💎💎💎☘️🇮🇪
Saw AL in Coventry when he toured aeons ago with Clapton. After playing this in the « guest solo » spot, a wag in the audience, in the stunned silence shouted « Now play something quick! »
Went to see him in Chelmsford last Friday. He's nearly 81 now, but doesn't; ' seem to have lost any of his ability. I think the audience would have paid just to see him perform this song. Absolutely brilliant.
Saw him in'72 with"Head,Hands and Feet" opening for Jethro Tull in Denver. I didn't know who Albert was. I've since learned. Such a great player. Thanks for posting.🙏😷🎶🎶☕❗👀
This track is from the album 'Heads, Hands and Feet', also the name of the band, from 1971. I came across the album then, when I was a student at university in Glasgow, sharing a flat. Lee had formed the band a year or so earlier. However, songs that sounded like American country music didn't generate much enthusiasm here, so Lee moved on. Has played with lots of people, and is hugely respected among musicians.
@@Dzonrid good live performances are few and far between ; but today we have the magic of recording so you never have to watch a poor performance ever again It’s all the same material so why would you want to?

Crazy , Wogan unleashed Albert on an unsuspecting audience. He was playing great here
You know it’s good when the session guys are digging it.

The superb, brilliant, jaw dropping talent of Albert Lee. Seen him many times and his talent does not diminish. Genius.

Hi there. Thought you’d like to know that the drummer on all of the videos on this channel is Bryan Hargreaves. Thank you for your kind words.

Don't worry, Albert, you don't look like a city slicker, and I think you probably never did!
Good Christ, that guitar probably needed a cigarette.

@@andrewpreston4127 chas hodges (chas n dave) played bass in H H and F...
@@edjones6837 Well there you go. I knew that a Chas Hodges had played with Head Hands...,but hadn't made the connection with Chas & Dave.
Blimey: What a mess !

That's what it is live. Anything can happen and things are not locked to the grid.
@@Dzonrid fair enough: but best not to load the cock-ups onto the web where the whole world can see them.
@@johnlawrence2757 I don't mind hearing a few cock-ups. It's still better than a generic I V VIIm IV pop song to me.

They shouldn’t have used the brass just because it was available.
I agree. It didn't fit with this song.
