This guy doesn't know how to do a review. He's generalizing everything; talk about and show the features. Don't tell me it's luxury you'd expect from an Audi.
Great review! I love wagons too. My 16 S4 just got crushed in an accident (not my fault) - will be going for a 16 SQ5 next for added safety! Bummed they don't bring more wagons to the States.
I'm considering this car but your review is incomplete. I wish you would review the comfort and roominess of the rear seats. Trunk space? You're in OC, park it in front of Fashion Island and finish the review! :)
I CANNOT believe you've just compared a CX 5 to a SQ5. There're not even in the same size category. And one is a family SUV and is a luxury SUV. And the SQ5 does compete with the Macan. Actually, it competes DIRECTLY at the Macan.
He mentioned the CX 5 as a budget option on the lower end of the spectrum because he was saying most people will have a hard time justifying the nearly $70,000 price tag on the SQ5. He wasn't directly comparing them.
I started building one online and I got to 70k before even diving deep into the options. Still, you can certainly get one for less than this Audi if you stay away from most of the options list. I'd love to run a comparo between the two.
Jeff Glucker Yes, that would be great. I'm just not a demanding guy when it comes to the options, ya know... I don't need the best of the best. Oh, and I was mistaken, the final price on mine was 56k, not 59k. The *only* options I marked were: Infotainment Package ($2,990) , Sport Chrono Package i.c.w. PCM ($1,290) , 20" Macan SportDesign Wheels ($1,260). That resulted in a $56,435 final price. Pretty awesome :-)
why does audi always make such small displacement engines? especially with any type of forced induction, you would think they would make a larger engine
***** That's what the Germans are all about. Making smaller engines that produce big power. The new BMW M4 is a 3 liter inline 6 cylinder but it produces 425 HP which is V8 numbers.
This car doesnt compare with a bmw x3. The bmw x3 compares with a mazda or mini countryman, its made for small people. The Audi SQ5 can fit tall adults so its in another class.
Heres a question, is there any performance SUV's under 30k with awd that beat this car? I can't find any. Maybe a 2012 Jeep GC SRT8 but they have reliability issues. Thoughts?
When will Audi Corporation simply re-badge the side fender to read V6S since the engine is a Supercharged V6 and not a Turbocharged V6. As you can see the side fender reads V6T. Therefore buyers/leasers and automotive enthusiasts will assume this Audi Q5 Turbo. Please Audi Corporation fix the side fender name of the Supercharged Q5 V6 to V6S or V6s. Thank you Audi when the change has been made.

It means turbine as in the twin turbine screws in a lysohlm supercharger
I always found the SQ5 silly. I have a 3.0 supercharged prestige Q5 sport, basically one step down from the SQ5 but with everything the SQ5 comes with. APR has a tune that pushes the stock 273hp into the 400hp territory, crushing the stock SQ5 without the hefty price tag.
I don't go from a script... I just try to go with it. How is saying I'm a wagon person generic? It's telling the truth... in fact, I own a 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300TD as a project car at the moment.
Jeff Glucker Jeff, I love that you started with that, because it's the reason I bought a 2014 SQ5 in November. I kept hoping Audi would bring the S6 Avant to the states. I still have my trusty 2001 A4 Avant and was hoping, all these years later, to get an S-model wagon. I must have checked online a million times, hoping for the news I wanted to hear, but it didn't come, and I needed a new car. I now have a Monsoon Gray SQ5 with the 21" wheels you show in the video. I love the car but do think Audi should realize there's a market for the sport wagon. I live in the SF Bay Area and demand here would be significant.
There is no suspension tweaking thru the settings. You can't "stiffen the ride". It's all transmission shift points. You dropped the ball in this interview.
Supercharged? The SQ5s in Australia are twin-turbocharged. Also, those squared-off LED daytime running lights are not exclusive to the SQ5, the regular Q5 has the same lights.
Americans complain because its 64k, too expensive right? Well, here in Mexico cars are much more expensive, the starting price of a SQ5 is about 85k. In comparison, most cars cost aroung 30-40% more. A Range Rover Sport for example, is aroung 63k, in Mexico its 90k. Believe me, you are lucky! We also dont have those amazing monthly rates, in America its quite affordable to buy a luxury vehicle.
Love the suv, but the exterior is outdated. I love the front grill, the sides and rear need more contour lines. The interior space is much less than competitors.
the first generation SQ5 with the V6T was indeed supercharged. www.autoblog.com/2008/06/27/audi-officially-unveils-supercharged-direct-inject-3-0l-tfsi-v6/
just what I thought, as an MB customer, until I sat in this, and drove it. Audi has come a long way. just drive it, switch ig from comfort to dynamic suspension and feel it settle on the road...mash the gas and bang up through the gears, it's got a lot of go. The cabin quality, fit and finish are equal to any brand out there. by the way, as an MB customer, when that glkamg comes out, I'll be on that immediately.
This guy does good reviews. Respect
Damn a very nice review and the Audi is awesome
Nice review. I can't agree more, they need to bring Avants to the states!
A fellow wagon lover. I knew I liked you!
of course!
I have an '84 Benz project wagon at the moment, and I miss the '67 Country Sedan I spent a month with.
Very nice crossover.
The four circles? I was about to stop watching but the car is nice.
hahahahahah
😂😂😂😂😂
haha, my thoughts exactly.
Made my eye twitch lol
Fan of your videos; great review, content, and charisma. Wagon enthusiast myself, but since there are limited selections, SQ5 is high on my list.
This guy doesn't know how to do a review. He's generalizing everything; talk about and show the features. Don't tell me it's luxury you'd expect from an Audi.
I want this SUV
I want that audi
Great review! I love wagons too. My 16 S4 just got crushed in an accident (not my fault) - will be going for a 16 SQ5 next for added safety! Bummed they don't bring more wagons to the States.
is that "Supercharged " as here ( europe ) they say that it is just double turbo system, am i wrong to say that it is not Supercharged ???
I'm considering this car but your review is incomplete. I wish you would review the comfort and roominess of the rear seats. Trunk space? You're in OC, park it in front of Fashion Island and finish the review! :)

Porsche and Audi are both Volkswagen 😂 yet they compete
I wish they made an SQ7
me too... or that we could get the V12 version they sold briefly in Europe.
But it was a V12 diesel
+Chris Peoples They do now, as of March 2016. :)
Your wish has now been granted💰
This car looks like it needs an interior update; I would expect more from Audi.
Talks about the interior with the reviewer inside the interior but doesn't show any actual footage of the review car interior only web pictures...what
Now we need X3M and GLK 63 AMG!
For this price, I'd get the Macan. I built one with exactly what I want/need and the final price was 59k.
I started building one online and I got to 70k before even diving deep into the options. Still, you can certainly get one for less than this Audi if you stay away from most of the options list. I'd love to run a comparo between the two.

Irvine!!!
Would you rather this or a Lexus RX?
You own BOTH? Wow, that's sweet. Love them both.
are u sure it its not turbocharged ? never have seen an audi with supercharger though
Same engine as the new S4 just been tuned more. 100% supercharged
The 3.0's where superchargered up to what 2017? Maybe 2016. So any 3.0T badged Audi was supercharged all across the lineup
why does audi always make such small displacement engines? especially with any type of forced induction, you would think they would make a larger engine
Replacement for Displacement. The Supercharger is making up for the displacement.
***** yeah but why? benz and bmw make large displacement engines (sometimes even with forced induction)
Smaller engines are lighter typically. Benz and Bmw make both. Large and small engines. Depends what your bank account can afford.
***** That's what the Germans are all about. Making smaller engines that produce big power. The new BMW M4 is a 3 liter inline 6 cylinder but it produces 425 HP which is V8 numbers.
ohhhhh that means the macan is gonna be really good then :O
This car doesnt compare with a bmw x3. The bmw x3 compares with a mazda or mini countryman, its made for small people. The Audi SQ5 can fit tall adults so its in another class.

...I still cant fit in the back seat. S'okay cos I cant afford this anyhow.
HA they start at $95,000 in Australia.
+ormand3000 Yet you cared enough to reply.
William Hansen whatever you say, convict
Why oh why do you keep using stock photos (inside & outside) when you've got the real thing right there? Boo!!

$64K???WTH!! Its a Q5....i cannot imagine anyone paying that to buy this.
For the same price I wouldn't doubt to buy a Porsche Macan
Q5/SQ 5 don't compare to the wagon class at all. Its not even a crossover It's a hatchback mini-SUV
hey look, it's Irvine
I always found the SQ5 silly. I have a 3.0 supercharged prestige Q5 sport, basically one step down from the SQ5 but with everything the SQ5 comes with. APR has a tune that pushes the stock 273hp into the 400hp territory, crushing the stock SQ5 without the hefty price tag.
Compare this to the jeep SRT8 .......both are 65k
2018 SQ5 has a twin-scroll turbo, not a supercharger anymore.
Intro was too generically scripted. You're a wagon person? Geeze, I've never heard thy before
I don't go from a script... I just try to go with it.
How is saying I'm a wagon person generic? It's telling the truth... in fact, I own a 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300TD as a project car at the moment.

You could be saying the same thing but so many fewer words. Cut down on the waffle otherwise nice video

2014 Jeep SRT much better
hahahah
No way
Just give the S4 Avant.
Can't
Love the suv, but the exterior is outdated. I love the front grill, the sides and rear need more contour lines. The interior space is much less than competitors.
I'm sorry to say this but V6T means V6 with turbo, and SQ5 is twin turbo vehicle. Superchargers are adapted for gasoline engines.
the first generation SQ5 with the V6T was indeed supercharged. www.autoblog.com/2008/06/27/audi-officially-unveils-supercharged-direct-inject-3-0l-tfsi-v6/
ajaja no me alcanza ni para las ruedas ajaja
too expensive for what it offers

We do not care about fun to drive all we care about is RELIABILITY
Just put a Lexus power train and suspension in it and you have a great suv
it's a turbo and he's got only 313hp
actually the US version is supercharged and has 354HP
Money pit
