    This rose, perhaps because of the flat brush, is so much nicer than the ones I have seen that are made by painting concentric 'c'. So glad I found you! Thank you, Jillian.

      Susan I am glad you are here too! You are right the shape of the brush we select will make a difference to the type of rose we get! I m glad you are here too!

    Without a doubt the most striking roses I’ve seen on TH-cam tutorials. This takes a lot of talent to bring out these roses from just a shape. This is what I’ve been searching for.

      So glad the searches brought us together then! Enjoy the tutorial and I hope you get some pieces of info that you can add to ur own practice!

    These roses are lovely, and I’m very happy to learn a technique other than the C curve. I think this technique makes a more natural, less predictable rose, so I say thank you!

    I totally identify with your imposter feelings. I jumped in painting/copying flowers from TH-cam tutorials. Each time my family complemented me I thought , but it’s not from me. Yesterday I decided to start over and found your channel. I just watched your brush stroke video and started practicing. Your rose is amazing and I can see it came from you. It’s beautiful. Be proud and happy with yourself. Very encouraging to me. Thank you.

      Your thoughtful words made my day. Thank you! Those imposter syndrome feelings you mentioned I have also been there and some days I still have it. Its a work in progress and I know at the end of the day - I am building my own self reliance towards painting in a way I like ;) I believe the same for u too!

    Your roses are absolutely beautiful. I have painted them the conventional circular roses and never felt it appealed to me. I will try to follow along and grasp the concept that you have produced. I love roses and I've wanted to paint them more realistic instead of the circular rose.

    • @brushmovement
      @brushmovement  ปีที่แล้ว

      Judith you and I have that in common with the circular roses. I also realised that those are mostly top down roses (in terms of perspective) Try these out and let me know how they turn out!

  • @vupps
    @vupps ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I agree 100% on your opening comments about trying to paint the roses like the instructions of a lot of artists and in the past week I’ve been trying to do just that and each time I tried to do those “swirls” with minimal space and look of a rose- i was getting more and more frustrated and totally want to give up painting roses. This technique you are using is so refreshing and a new way to try all those “speciality” brushes I’ve just collected and not used- a great way to experiment from the usual way of painting a rose! Thank you for this eyeopener technique!! Your painting turned sooooo beautiful!

For me, I sometimes quit when the painting isn’t looking “redeemable “.
