I think the narrative is taking a big shift from the Darkness as the main enemy. Basically since Forsaken the view of darkness was changing from that of an ideology to a tool not unlike the light itself. The phrase "the line between light and dark is so very thin" being at the center of that. Instead of the Darkness itself, the story appears to be suggesting the Witness is the actual dark mirror of the Traveler. In old dialogue of the Darkness, it speaks just like the Witness does. So I don't think the Witness and its followers serve the Darkness, I think the Darkness as we thought it to be is the Witness, with darkness being the power that it wields. Their ideologies line up, and in the cutscene that revealed the Witness, it very much felt like it and the Traveler were opponents in a game, the flower game of the Gardener and the Winnower. Does anybody know who voices Rhulk? He sounds a lot like Keith Szarabajka, which would be funny if so because it would mean he also voiced the Didact in Halo and Harbinger in Mass Effect... 3 very similar villains.
No, he ripped one of its redwood-sized ribs out and whacked it aside so he could go have a chat with the Worm Gods and take something very near and dear from them. Leviathan was still around when Sathona, Xi Ro, and Aurash took a dive down to meet the Worm Gods much later. You can read the armor lore tabs in collections for this raid's sets, it's got a lot of crazy stuff in them. Rhulk is by far the biggest, baddest badass of all the people we've fought in Destiny, and Oryx was a reality bending godking with innumerable legends under his belt, which says a lot about Rhulk.
@Mr Pickles I don't think he needs to be built up. This was a our first true encounter with a darkness entity, a being in control of a pyramid. Regardless of his personal story we knew what he'd be capable of
Idk after all this new lore and new cosmic powers I’m just thinking: how can the current races keep up in the power department? The fallen scavenge, the hive have gods that get bodied, the cabal are split in 2, idk anything about the vex anymore and the taken have no leader.
The witness commands the taken I presume but yes we as guardians have become more powerful than oryx and savathun who were a thorn in the side of the vanguard for centuries we've even slain a worm God and now a disciple of the witness now sure we go in with a team of 6 but how have guardians rised in power so quickly that they can take out actual puppeteers of the universe
We've taken out Hive Gods, but not without difficulty. Xivu Arath is still out there, and without her siblings, she will have total command over the entire Hive race (apart from the Lucent Brood) as well as her Wrathborn, and that's not to mention her whole 'god of war' schtick. And let's not forget the Lucent Brood killed several Guardians and stole their light, so they're still a credible threat on both sides. The Eliksni are a bit more unstable. The House of Dusk was the largest and most powerful faction, since it was basically all the D1 Houses joined together, but they've lost so much constantly since the Red War. The House of Salvation are effectively a Darkness cult, but the Psion rebels seem to have foreseen Eramis making a comeback, so they could perhaps become something greater in future. That, or the Witness will just have them all made into Scorn. We also have the House of Light, but they're pretty small and more like refugees and settlers than pirates or soldiers. They don't seem they would make many points as a war asset, even if they wanted to. The Cabal seem to be in a similar boat to the Eliksni. They look to Caiatl now to lead them, but they can't seem to stop getting themselves killed in misunderstandings with their allies or infighting over traditions like the Rite of Proving (Hell, Saladin had to kill 6 Cabal challengers just after being made Bracus!) And even then, not only are some defecting to the Loyalists, but Calus even has his own Cabal cloning operation, so bodycounts are not an issue to him. The Vex are...honestly pretty irrelevant at the moment. They can't simulate the paracausal, so they're probably just as confused about everything as a new player these days. The Sol Divisive seem to be a Darkness-aligned Vex faction, but they seem confined to the Black Garden and its still unclear whether they've actually turned on the rest of the Collective or if they're double-agents acting for the good of the Vex. Lately, the Vex have just been unwitting or unwilling tools for the likes of Eramis or Quria, but let's not forget that they've converted entire planets into machines and the Radiolaria making up their organic components seem easy for them to produce. At best, the Vex seem to be destined to be a neutral force, a third-party wildcard aligned with neither side. Unless the theories are true about Asher the Impatient Mind. Mara Sov described the Witness in Season of the Lost as the "Taken's original master." Oryx claimed the Darkness itself spoke to him and gave him the power to take, but now it seems most likely that it was the Witness who gave him that power. Savathun was dependant on Quria to control the Taken for her, but Rhulk didn't seem to have that issue. If what Savathun said was true, about the Witness being able to take entire worlds, then controlling the Taken and even creating more should be pretty easy for it. We still don't know how many Disciples the Witness has, or maybe even if any of them can take as well.
@@AxisChurchDevotee ah. So to summarise, we’re up against: Sol Divisive (Dark Vex) House of Salvation (Dark Eliksni) Loyalists (Dark Cabal) The Hive The Taken The Scorn However many Disciples the Witness has recruited. Should we be concerned yet?
Ive been really bad about keeping up with all the lore up till now. Do we know how this all may tie in to Calus? If his story hasn’t already reached an end. Did he not meet something “on the edge of the void” or something. It wasn’t just the Darkness I imagine.
Calus has been MIA since he tried to commune with the darkness and/or witness with the void where Mars was (prior to it returning). One of the new exotic missions more or less confirms he's alive though. I eagerly await the big man's return.
So this confirms that the giant dead worm in the pyramid ship is a dead worm god the worm I’m talking about you can see in the empty space in the background
Hearing about a blue light that powered them being broken, and the witness saying you have no more pieces to play. Has me thinking, what if there is more than one traveler? What if there were multiples wandering the cosmos gifting the light. Then Savathuns two truths two lies saying the last city isn't the last city, maybe there's another city of Light bearers using a shard of another traveker
The Traveler is mentioned by Rhulk as shining like silver in the sky. The blue was just one of the two suns in their binary star system. Blue stars are a real thing. The Umbral sun on the other hand...
At some point the travler will 100% get destroyed, but somehow guardians will still retain light powers, but having dark powers more readily available Or I just thought of something… the travler is the biggest deception in the game… what if at some point the witness gained control of the travler and is now using it to deceive us, so when he attacks we Stand no chance
I think tbh the light and dark ness subclass will fuse with each other the void solar arc and statis will turn into an ultimate subclass to me that sounds like the coolest option
no this is the new report in the enclave it came out today after a team beat the raid i would recommend picking it up because this mission is really cool
Ah the age old Ying and Yang balance. Good keeps bad in check and in turn bad keeps good in check, forever swapping what "good" and what "bad" means with one another depending on the situation. One can't exist without the other, they feed off each other.
I picked up this mission from the evidence board but it's no where to be seen on the map. Am I missing something? The only other report I have left to do is making the weapons in the Enclave. Update: Turns out all I had to do was restart my game so I can get the after raid cutscene. Truly my intellect is frightening.
The “Fourth Tomb of Nezarec” exists in the Jovian Space at the edge of our solar system. It was found by The Drifter and was thought to be constructed before the Golden Age. Unless the body of Nezarec is within that tomb, we have to assume that Nezarec is either an entity who exists outside of our solar system, or it is a fictional entity which is written to be a “God”. Nezarec was supposedly the “final God of pain”, but we have no information as to whether Nezarec is related to the Darkness, The Witness or The Black Fleet. It’s possible that Nezarec is merely a fictional entity, which occupied a similar role which we now know the The Witness serves.
@Jay Mack Yes in the game now but it tells me requires Acquistion of the report Pyramid inspect quest . Which I don't know if that means you have to beat the raid or if there's something else I do not know but I did not do the raid at all so obviously I cannot find out
@@TheDg2793 So that means that Rhulk and these disciples are apart of a darkness champion collective. And if true it makes sense why bungie maybe pushed away from a darkness race(veil) to more of a darkness faction(upended).
Wait isn’t this a species that boarded the leviathan and was one of calus’s champions? Remember he had different species competing. And if you remember he say’s to us that he knows the truth and that we are not ready yet. And they mention him in this season caital does
Anyone else dislike how the guardians magically got like 20x stronger to beat this guy, I felt like he should’ve had an escape rather than a death, although there would be no Where to escape since he was trapped. Think each season we fighting multi ships and gaining new powers and final expansion is where probably witness uses the super weapon unmaker or whatever thulk was talking about that causes collapse of countless races of planets etc and maybe we lose and try overcome or we try prevent it then the raid is fightning witness
Next unique raid boss will be xivu arath I think
I assume each new season having bunch of custom exotic from multiple races
@@ericx6969 I reckon we could potentially get another disciple in a dungeon possibly. As we saw their are by the looks of it A LOT of disciples in each of those ships
I bet you Calus will eventually become the Witness' new disciple.
Considering the Witness probably has more disciple's, Calus might already be a disciple.
Does anybody know who voices Rhulk? He sounds a lot like Keith Szarabajka, which would be funny if so because it would mean he also voiced the Didact in Halo and Harbinger in Mass Effect... 3 very similar villains.
Sounds like Todd Haberkorn (Drifter) to me
@@Sebby514 Listen to his dialogue and think of the name "Joshua Graham". If it doesn't stir something in you, then you must not have played New Vegas.
Sounds like Tony Todd as the Fallen in Transformers
Or Ebony Maw for Black Order
Dude didnt even asked "Yo Rhulk are you ok?". He just... Hired some big ass rhino dude...
Welp, the Leviathan was right. It just didn't happen there. It would come at the Guardians hands.
Well that explains why the Leviathan didn't do more. Rhulk killed it
No, he ripped one of its redwood-sized ribs out and whacked it aside so he could go have a chat with the Worm Gods and take something very near and dear from them.
@@joshuavidrine889 yet Rhulk was beaten by 6 people who like to dance in the tower all day and play race war games once a year

maybe this will be a repeatable mission ? I found 5 when I did the mission so maybe we’ll get the next ones after reset
You have to repeat the symbol puzzle 4 more times to get every recording.
@@ShawndaPrawn Iirc, it was said in lore that Vex attack Sol Divisive Vex so they aren't allied
@@AxisChurchDevotee ah. So to summarise, we’re up against:
Sol Divisive (Dark Vex)
House of Salvation (Dark Eliksni)
Loyalists (Dark Cabal)
The Hive
The Taken
The Scorn
However many Disciples the Witness has recruited.
Should we be concerned yet?

Oh so that’s the bone
So when he says my witness is he talking to the witness itself?
Yes
Yep, the Witness is Rhulk's master/teacher, that's why he's called "the disciple"
@@Sweld549 I do too! I’m hoping Bungie does him justice in his return assuming they follow through with his story.
so i may have not listened and returned to orbit when the mission was over, im so dumb lol
23 minute mission end timer 😭😭😭
Is this the evidence board mission that’s a solo mission that takes you into the raid pyramid ?
yup
At some point the travler will 100% get destroyed, but somehow guardians will still retain light powers, but having dark powers more readily available
Or I just thought of something… the travler is the biggest deception in the game… what if at some point the witness gained control of the travler and is now using it to deceive us, so when he attacks we Stand no chance
What power is the quintessential power of the light?
Its like the Eliksni say, "the light is all around us, it flows through all things." (Paraphrasing here but I think thats about right)

The preservation mission. You get it from the evidence board and get the last remaining quest. That’ll unlock the mission on Savathun’s throne world
How do you find these in the mission
I picked up this mission from the evidence board but it's no where to be seen on the map. Am I missing something? The only other report I have left to do is making the weapons in the Enclave.
Update: Turns out all I had to do was restart my game so I can get the after raid cutscene. Truly my intellect is frightening.
It’s right below the raid icon on the map
Can this be done on solo
How did you make it that far back? The door was closed for me after the second dialogue button
It wasn’t closed for me. I was able to go back to the previous room when the timer came up. Probably a glitch like what happened in the raid day
I have to do that mission again to collect all those
Anyone knows if they're weekly rotated or of they're all available? For the triumph
Where is Nezarec?
@@XxxULTIMATEZxxX isn’t he just a made up legend, you know considering there is virtually no lore except the helmet
@@MrVidman14 That is the speculation, yes. We don’t know for sure if Nezarec was once a real entity, or if it was always a fictional entity.
