@@Herka5420 There is a precedent for costume changes, in Andre's Christmas concerts last year, she did Voila and White Christmas in the black dress, and then later on came back to sing 'All I want for Christmas' in a red jump suit, complete with a large Santa Hat, absolutely right for the song, and I'm hoping for similar again this year, and maybe even during the summer concerts in Maastricht, Emma's no longer restricted by laws relating to minors, the only thing holding her back from doing more is the feeding pumps, and possible stamina issues, which are known, and not helpful.
@@Herka5420 You will enjoy both, we had the pleasure of seeing Emma live in Dublin at the start of May, and it was amazing, I didn't think Voila could be improved on, but it was, a number of subtle but significant changes that made it even better than the video recordings, and we too have tickets for December, despite the distance to get there, we're doing 2 nights in Maastricht, flying in through Brussels and getting the train over, but we're a week earlier, the 14th, and I'm very much looking forward to it, I've not told my wife yet, she has that surprise to come. As for what Andre will do this year for the Vrijthof, they're keeping that very quiet, it's going to be interesting to see what happens, I suspect that Voila will still be in the line up, and likely to be so for a long time to come, I made the comment elsewhere that 50 years on after they became hits, Cliff Richard still sings some of the songs from that far back, even though he's now over 80, and I think Emma will still be singing Voila for a long time to come, maybe not with Andre, but she won't get away from it so easily, not with the number of people who are aware of it, but I am very much hoping for some new songs, Emma's no longer a minor, so in theory, she can do more, albeit still within the limits due to her tube feeding tubes, and I have to admit, I am hoping that Andre will keep her with him for a while longer, to give her even more opportunity to rise higher, the limits of the tubes and her reduced stamina mean it will be hard for her to move into more normal concert type shows, she won't have that stamina, so her situation with Andre is in so many ways a good option for her continued career development, as long as things like exams and the pressures of travelling don't affect her too much, it can't be easy for her. There is also the very significant consideration that Andre is not getting any younger, and while he seems to be very fit, that could change, and the JSO without Andre will be a very different situation, so that too could affect what happens with Emma, none of us know what life has in store for us.

Better something than nothing. Her high notes were impressive. In the other older video of this song she did not sang these high notes. Ok, so this song is so technically hard and requires so much range... I did not expect her to hit those high notes as well as she did. Where does that much vocal power hide in her??
Thank you so much for putting this video online, I've been hoping for a good quality version, and this is very much what was needed, and it's a beautiful version, and even more stunning for the subtle changes that Emma's put in to it since last September, that new higher top note is sublime, and came as a very pleasant surprise, it's another indication of Emma's drive to be the best she can be, she reviews her performances, looking for ways to improve them, and she's very much done that with this version, so I was very happy to see it online now. Congratulations on a superb video, and congratulations to Emma on the way she delivered that song with the orchestra, who also gave a superb performance for a special occasion.
@@pioter3124 I have to admit, the number of subtle changes since September is significant, it's an indication of how much attention to detail Emma puts into these performances, and they are indeed very special, and so powerful, quite how she generates so much power from that tiny frame is almost undescribable, but she very much does do exactly that, and with such control, it really is special, and spectacular.
Well said yet again Steve. I agree wholeheartedly that Emma, in the pursuit of excellence, does indeed review her performances for the purpose of improving them. At 16 years old she is already a consummate professional and getting better all the time. Tell me what you think. In recent weeks, I have seen signs that Emma is finding this world tour somewhat tedious. I'm not suggesting she wants to quit, only that she is growing weary of having to perform the same songs night after night, and is discovering that the physical demands of touring are difficult to say the least. Obviously her condition plays a role here, but even artists who are perfectly well often complain about the physical demands of touring. What I'm saying is based on observation of her recent performances, and seemingly cryptic little comments she has made on social media. In the first case, not only does she have to perform 'Voila' in a manner essentially duplicating her Maastricht performance, but the immediate aftermath as well. She must turn to her left, walk over and give Maestro Rieu a hug, then turn 180 degrees and pretend that she is walking off the stage all the while knowing that Maestro Rieu is going to call her back. The spontaneity of these maneuvers is missing from that of the Maastricht performance. She appears to going through the motions in a perfunctory way. As far as comments on social media go, I will have to go back and find them. Still, I am certain that I am not assigning my own subjective interpretation on them. They do seem to indicate a level of fatigue about the entire enterprise. Have you noticed any of this, or is it all a figment of my imagination?
@@exeter1588 There was certainly a point in time a few weeks ago where it was clear from her posts that she was having a hard time, but she was at pains to say it was the disease, not the singing that was the source of the problem, but I have to admit to not following social media posts on all the sites, I'm not active on things like TikTok, so I've not got a sense of Emma being unhappy,, in recent days, her posts on Instagram have all been positive, Having said that, Andre faces a challenge now, I am hoping that he will ring the changes with this years summer concerts, while Voila is most definitely Emma's signature song, I think it's time to ring the changes, and let her fly higher with some new songs, and keeping Voila going like they have is likely to be disappointing to some, in that they've seen and heard it live before. I've had that feeling before with Andre's concerts, they had become a little too predictable and slightly stale, and having Emma on board did liven things up, especially the Christmas concerts, which are for sure going to be a challenge this year, they have to find new songs for her to avoid becoming too repetitive. The counter to that thought is that the Voila we heard in Dublin in May was NOT the same Voila that we heard from Maastricht last year, Emma has made a whole range of subtle changes to the format, in terms of different emphasis on areas, different vocal strength, differences in the pronunciation, and that's the problem, we all thought that Maastricht last year was perfection, but somehow, Emma found ways to improve on perfection. At the same time, you're also right, the multiple call backs to the stage to keep the ovation going has lost it's originality, and it is becoming a bit too predictable, and needs to change, as does the song mix, it would be good to give Emma some new challenges, which has of course happened recently with the shows she's done with other people, especially the liberation concerts, which were stunning in terms of their power and vitality, though to be fair, Emma gave her performance in Dublin her all, it didn't lack in any way in terms of the songs, they were amazingly good, and way better than I had expected them to be. There is also then the conundrum that there will still be a lot of people who do want to hear Emma sing Voila live, because they've not yet heard it live, and are looking for the valid and real emotional experience of hearing it live, rather than a recording, and I don't know how that conundrum can be best addressed. Andre faces a very real challenge in terms of finding ways to keep Emma and the audience happy, and that may not be easy, and the silence in terms of the future is slightly worrying, I'd be sad if Emma was to part company with Andre after this year, I think that while she would certainly be able to continue to amaze and charm audiences, she wouldn't have the same reach and visibility as she has with Andre, but the downside of being with him is that they have to do the same songs and music for a period of time because of the pressures of the touring environment, and Andre himself has recognised that he has been pushing himself too hard, which resulted in the health issues he had in Mexico, which resulted in cancelling 4 concerts, he's not going to want that to happen again, and he's effectively saying that Mexico was not good for him because of the distance, and lack of time to acclimatise to things like the time zone changes before they started into the concerts, made worse by the altitude they were working at, it's possible that he may not do concerts in Mexico again, and he's hinting that places like Australia may also be too far in future. It's a conundrum that all major stars face, my wife very much likes Cliff Richard, and the reality is that Cliff in his 80's is still regularly singing songs that he first recorded and released a very long time ago, things like Devil Woman, Young Ones, Summer Holiday to name just a few, some of them were hits over 50 YEARS ago, and the audiences still appreciate and expect him to sing them, and the reality is that there will be songs that Emma sings that she will never be allowed to forget, Voila is not the only one, the songs she's done for the liberation concerts are likely to become long term regulars, albeit maybe not with Andre, as are her two singles, and I'm sure we could extend that list without too much extra thought, and that's before Emma gets to spend time with her friends in the Netherlands, my own opinion is that an album of some of her songs would be good, along with some new songs that might not be quite so orchestral based, with the profits from it going to gastrostars, that would be appropiate, and a good development, but she's still very young to be making significant life changing decisions, and we've no way to know what effects gastroparesis is having on her, she's not given any indications of issues beyond what we already know about, but she's not done as much with Andre as I was hoping for, it's possible that there are problems, and of course, she's still going to be restricted by the laws that are in place regarding performance lengths and times relating to minors, which is going to be one of the reasons why she's been appearing early in the concerts, and conspicuous by her absence from the finale of those concerts, the combined limits of gastroparesis, labour laws and the requirement to complete her schooling are a significant challenge that Andre can't afford to get wrong. That's my take on where things are, and I suspect I may get some grief for sharing them, if I do, I might end up going quiet for a while if things get too hot, at the end of the day, I don't need hassles, and I know how heated internet discussions can get, and there are times when it's just easier to walk away than to keep banging your head against a brick wall.
@@exeter1588 I agree with you, it's enough now and even not funny anymore. What didn't change is the beautifull sound of Emma and what she deserves now, after all she has done for Andre ( and he also for her ), is make her own songs now, her own life, sing with other singers or alone and do what make her feel happy and new again. Keep on learning from the best teachers you can get, enjoy life and give your own performances which you love with people around you that you choose. Make fun Emma , it will give you a lot of energy but take enough rest and live your life your way. And please princess, buy a lot of beautiful dresses, every time you look more stunning, enjoy it.❤❤❤
Emma is an outstanding vocalist AND storyteller at the same time. And to me that is not because of her age, but it is the way she is performing her songs. It feels like it is a personal conversation. You can't help it to feel every song she is taking on inside you. Why? I don't no, but there is something in Emma's voice that triggers that.
Dear singer, Modesty is not a virtue if you want to be famous. The new song ‘dancing …’is like the keysong of a musical never to be written because it unfolds before our eyes. A typical Rieu production: A velvet cake with a lot of peak moments, extra cream and sugar.... The Emma and Andre story, ready for the American market, almost a law of nature to have to make it there. I sincerely hope so…. I picked you up late (i do not watch TV), about 7 months ago listening to the Rieu-version of voila and after i calmed down the earlier piano version (Yours) and my favorite. Intonation is, next to all the technical abilities, your greatest quality. It is a result of the Limburgian dialect, a very intonation-rich language. Countless are the comments of listeners, saying they do not know a word but understand the song. Can you get any bigger compliment? Also countless are the atypical fans next to the very loyal Rieu audience. Mostly young (15-45), metalheads, lady gaga fans, gothic you name it. I wonder if Andre is able to bind to them. You are so young!!! Remember the singer in this video (father). Nobody can tell you what to do but I sincerely hope you keep room in your schedule doing these stunning interpretations.. I also hope you sing some more French (or other latin language) and become a superstar with a clearly European signature. Kind regards, Z. Werver.
So beautiful, her voice became so much stronger last year, I love it. Also a beautiful song of Emma is Strijder, Official Video with English Subtitles now, worth seeing and it honors the Warrior in her, thank you❤❤❤
Great song in every way and above all a great deliverance. At least they could have made a proper recording in sound and vision having a worldclass act on stage.
Emma is a live artist. I will see her in Maastricht, but i hope to hear her once in a church or small concerthall with natural amplification. It will be the difference between a cocacola with two extra lumps of sugar and a good glass of wine.

Congratulations on a superb video, and congratulations to Emma on the way she delivered that song with the orchestra, who also gave a superb performance for a special occasion.
That top note really gave me the chills. Unbelievable❤❤.
@@exeter1588 There was certainly a point in time a few weeks ago where it was clear from her posts that she was having a hard time, but she was at pains to say it was the disease, not the singing that was the source of the problem, but I have to admit to not following social media posts on all the sites, I'm not active on things like TikTok, so I've not got a sense of Emma being unhappy,, in recent days, her posts on Instagram have all been positive,
Having said that, Andre faces a challenge now, I am hoping that he will ring the changes with this years summer concerts, while Voila is most definitely Emma's signature song, I think it's time to ring the changes, and let her fly higher with some new songs, and keeping Voila going like they have is likely to be disappointing to some, in that they've seen and heard it live before.
And please princess, buy a lot of beautiful dresses, every time you look more stunning, enjoy it.❤❤❤
Reminiscent of the young Jackie Evancho, always beautifully and appropriately dressed.
She and her mother and grandmother made her dresses.
Emma Voice, broke me everytime. Hehe ❤
Ze raakt me altijd met haar muziek❤😮😢🎉🎉🎉
Dear singer,
Modesty is not a virtue if you want to be famous.
Also a beautiful song of Emma is Strijder, Official Video with English Subtitles now, worth seeing and it honors the Warrior in her, thank you❤❤❤
Struggente!!!❤️
Great song in every way and above all a great deliverance.
At least they could have made a proper recording in sound and vision having a worldclass act on stage.
Emma is a live artist. I will see her in Maastricht, but i hope to hear her once in a church or small concerthall with natural amplification. It will be the difference between a cocacola with two extra lumps of sugar and a good glass of wine.
Vergeten...
