Following you from Nova Scotia Canada. Just want to say how incredibly sorry we are that so much smoke pollution has come your way. I’m 56 years old and have never witnessed such a dry year. I can’t believe I’ve never had to use salt on our driveway in the winter months of 2023. First in history because it was such a dry winter. I’m so glad to see rain on your fields and hope it continues. Praying your crops and TH-cam channel flourish this summer! This is my favourite TH-cam channel to watch. Love you all and so glad Grammy gets her garden planted.

As someone who’s lived in Northern California for years. The smokes is terrible. If you have the 20x20 box fans you can use 20x20 Hvac filters electrical taped to them to help filter out some of the smell. Also, change out your regulator HVAC filters often.

    Michigan needs rain also
Detroit got smoked, but missed us over here near Ann Arbor. Suppose to be getting rain tomorrow but we'll see. And you better be nice to Grammy. She makes sure you guys are fed every lunch hours and doing most of the baking.

You may want to check about getting a
    MEDIA LICENSING AGREEMENT.
Because people put stuff out with your name on it which is a violation of copyright.
I’m sure you have seen videos which start with -
‘No part of this video may be copied replicated or used without express permission’.
Then people are going to have to get your permission.

Thank you for understanding how the smoke is worse for us here in Canada. A few weeks ago here in Alberta the smoke was so bad we could barely see down our street. Its finally cleared up quite a bit but now the fires in eastern Canada are out of control. It hasnt been a good year with fires 😢

While I was watching you guys hand plant the lima beans, I couldn't help but wonder how anyone planted anything on large acres of farmland before they made machines to do it. I wonder how your ancestors dealt with it or have planting machines been available since your family bought the farm? Great video!

You might enjoy Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Farmer Boy"! It's a kids' book, but it goes into quite a bit of detail about how people farmed in the 1860's, just after the Civil War. Laura's descriptions of the food will make you hungry, too! :)

Those Earthway push planter's are the best, been using the one I got handed down from my Grandpa from the late 80s, it's all original and just brings back memories of him everytime I get to use it, I'm in SE Ga and been also dealing with the drought, supposed to be getting rain coming tomorrow and I hope so, the sweet corn wasn't able to be irrigated after it got too tall, no drip lines were installed and the ears are about 60 percent made but drying up fast, hopefully the good Lord will send rain where we can harvest some of it! Sending Prayers for ya'll and God Bless!!!

I hope you guys and your animals didn't do too bad with the smoke. I live in Eastern Ontario, about 90 minutes from the nearest fire and we got hit with the smoke Monday morning. It was brutal! I have health problems, my son has asthma so we just stayed closed up in the house for a few days. My lungs and throat are still trying to recover from it. It seems that the worst of it is over now and hopefully it stays that way. I hope it's improved there too.

Thank you and your amazing family. For sharing your hard working life. Last yr when you and your family were harvested your corn and watched you eat it raw. Well I decided to grow some even though I rent. It was easy to start the seeds in front of a window. Untill it was ready to transplant to the out side. Then once it was ready to pick. Was very shocked they were sturb less then 1/2 the size. But still I was able to try it raw. And I actually like it better than cooked 😀 . A few friends do have a small but proper garden set up. They said there garden did not do well at all. I moved and live in Australia and have notice....

Andrew, hopefully some of our weather heads your way. It has rained off and on for the last 2 days, heavily at times. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast all next week here about 6 hours north of you in northern NY. I used the same type push seeder for many acres of vegetables on my farm. The carrot plate works well for dill seed. You guys cracked me up with your wisecracking about the lima beans, especially Matt saying that he only eats them because he sits next to Grammy lol!

The worst ration we had in the Army was Lima Beans with Scrambled Eggs. Brutal.

It’s dry here in Youngstown, Ohio which is about an hour northwest of Pittsburgh, but happily we have rain on the way Sunday evening.

Sorry for your poor to fair air quality. Hope it rains and clears your skies. Good for the plants both with the extra Sunshine and the moisture. Good for your pocketbook for fewer days of irrigation. Better too for everyone's health. Take care - you may need to break out the pandemic masks? May help with smoke.
