Thanks! This is exactly the information I needed. We installed tile for the first time, and we didn't cut our holes large enough for the faucet fittings. Now, I have some ideas of how to shave away some of the tile!

Thanks for the advice. I used the Dremel EZ545 last night to get my project done.

Good video! Thanks! I used the Dremel 562 tile cutting accessory to cut porcelain tile around a toilet flange because I needed extra room to install a flange repair kit. The Dremel blade did not perform all that well for me. I only needed to increase the diameter around the flange by about 1/4 inch and it was extremely slow. After over an hour of cutting I had only removed maybe an 1/8 inch. Looks like I should have purchased the diamond cutting wheel instead.

I need to cut 1/2" by 1/2' granite tiles, would the diamond jigsaw blade be appropriate?

I have a question. I am not a professional and I want to tile my bathroom which is quite small. I am very clumsy and I know angle grinder is not the right tool for me to cut tiles. Do you think Dremel would be enough to let me tile a small bathroom? It is only 4 square meters.
PS. This is one of the best tile cutting videos on the internet. Thank you sir.

If you have time, sure. Otherwise a regular tile cutter would do the trick too... Or both.

@@AaronAaronsohn Regular tile cutter for sides, Dremel for circular, square holes. My perfect combination. Thanks.

Good tips before doing this job on which tools aren't worth spending money on for what I'm going g to be doing....another use for that dremmel wheel: the little cutt off disc for that works amazing on nuts and bolts rusted on !! If you don't push hard you can cut right down the center of a quarter inch bolt and thru the nut....walla.... Grab the but with channel locks and Th nut falls right off....no scratches....makes replacing rusty nuts very easy, and no one wants rusty nuts...

Ronnie Smith Thanks for the comment. I have been afraid to use the diamond wheel on metal for fear I would do damage to it. As you know they are not cheap. Maybe I'll give it a try the next time I have a stubborn bolt.

It would be helpful if you say what the 2 files you use are made of, name of them, and maybe where you can get them.

Ceramic Tile file. Qep makes them, as does Rigid. Google search will help locate the nearest store that carries them. I suggest Lowe's or Home Depot.

Hello, I was hoping to get some advice. I am putting in a marble tile floor in my future "glam closet". Where the grout comes together at the intersections of the tile, I'd like to put some swarovski crystals. right now I'm not sure what size I'm going with but I do know i'll need to shave down the corners of the marble. The crystals are round so I need something that I can sculpt the marble in a circular fashion. If I use something that just shaves a straight line there will be extra grout showing. Does that make sense? So if you think of a circle inside a square that gap space will show my grout which i don't want. I'm using the smallest grout spacers between tiles. Can you recommend a small hand tool (please be specific I'm a diyer) that can help me shape these corners? Thank you!!!

What was the electrical or battery operated device that was used to show the cutting wheel on the tile by the sink?

The Dremel wheel seems to work well for you. I would have someone hold a vacuum hose near it or get a vacuum attachment just to have less mess to clean up.

Ron, I have a Wilsonart counter top with about a 3" Wilsonart lip attached to the counter top and below the back splash. I'm replacing my stove with a front panel version so that the back of the stove is level with the counter top. However, even though the counter top stops at the edge of the stove, the lip runs a few inches past the counter top and behind the stove. I want to cut the lip at the point where the counter top meets the stove so the lip will not run behind the stove. Would it be safe to use the Dremel diamond wheel to cut the lip straight off the wall? Any advice you could give me would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Jack

Jack, I don't quite understand what you are attempting. Sounds like you need to cut through an existing counter top back splash in to allow the new stove to be moved back. If it's laminate, my tool of choice would be my Dremel Multi-Max, probably using the half circular blade. They also make a diamond blade for the Multi-Max; however, it isn't cheap. It would probably be difficult to get a long straight cut using the diamond wheel as I show in this video. Hope this helps . . . make it a great day Ron.

Any diamond-coated tile tool will work a bit better if you keep it cool with water.

What is the dremmel model tool your using? I see it has an extension then a smaller hand tool? What are your thoughts on witch dremmel? I purchased one that doesn't look like yours, and it burnt out after one project. I would love to get another one though as it did the job well

It looks like the dremel 400 ($80ish~) with an attachment on the end that can be added to most models for better control, the smaller tool youre seeing is part of the attachment

Wow how did you burn it out? I've had mine for many many years and use it quite often. I just be sure not to force it too much when the motor starts to slow down I back the tool off and let the high RPMs do their job.

I should have included them. If you buy a pair, spend the money and get the ones with compound hinges for more leverage. Especially if you are going to cut granite or marble. I am using my single hinged pare in this video at about 3:30 minutes in. th-cam.com/video/YOQ-wZJo-Y8/w-d-xo.html
