You did amazing! Congratulations! I know Vieira de Leiria. The region suffered a tragic fire back in 2017. A lot of new trees are already growing in the burned area. I went to the beach there many times. I really appreciate your decision of rebuilding and your way of life. I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing more about your life in Portugal.

Hi Suzi, so enjoyed the makeover! As a florist/ gardener i love the way you know to repurpose what uniformed folks would throw out. Your prepping of ground no I priority. Have you found earthworms? Maybe some have been hiding in soil of newly bought fruit trees etc. I feed my soil/ plants with crushed eggshells, teabags and any veggie peels. None are seen as my garden only 3years old so wild and wonderful. Dont forget about some roses. Especially climbers. They are an awesome spring sight to climb up old roof trusses. A farm in western Cape have built high arbours and those roses love it and show off to visitors. A suggestion is to let a bedroom as a bnb. Folks passing through to beach would love a homely stop over, with a cup of tea/ coffee and a toastie.Bread and cheese keeps well in freezer and defrosts quickly. So a little petty cash will keep you going. " The yellow house" ...easy to find! 💐🌻🐝🍓🍒🍎🍉🍊🍋🍇🍅🥕🥦🥬🧅🍏🧄

Great job, to be honest, you are a brave woman😂 I saw this house when you bought it, thought no way, money pit, but, it looks like it has turned out, well, from what I have seen, you were fortunate you got good artisans as they are very hard to find and it is hard to get jobs finished to a timeline, so being hands on is a must, like doing alot oneself like electrical, plumbing keep it up👍😊

20:20 if you paint it and use it as a dipping pool, a ‘swimming’ pool, well you need to get permission from the local council.
Thank you for the advice 🙏
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, I just subscribe to your channel, you did a lot already and it starts to become beautiful. Just start hammering at the top of the whole and stone by stone it will come down and free up your view building a quinta takes time, did you make contact with the neighbors already? I will look some older vids to see.
Thank you so much for this thoughtful comment. Yes, we have wonderful neighbours and we are already exchanging lots of food. A little of this will be in my next video. The Portuguese are so kind and helpful.
Good job!
Thank you Kati 🙏💕
Well done.
Let's go fly free" in my twisted mind was a slogan for a zipper lubricant.
Ha ha 😆
Ainda bem que a plantação de quiabo não deu certo. Devia ter levado ora pró nobis
Don't need the music...it is a distraction.
Hiya, not to be rude. But may I ask how much you purchased your home for please?
Daryl it was 70,000 euros. It had been on the market for some time so I was able to negotiate. Hope that helps
@@dreamlifeportugal yes, thank you 😊
It's beginning to look very nice. Another year and it will look awesome 👌 👏
Casa of frutas you are missing the r
What the.. This is a scam! Is definitely not the same house. 😅😂 Nice job. Keep it up
Definitely not a scam but it was a lot of work! Thanks and I’ll do my best. Great to have you here 🙏💕
What do the locals think of the colour?!
A lot of the neighbours houses are the same colour. It’s the colour of this region and one of the reasons it’s painted yellow 💛
why didn´t you cover the roof with a huge tarp. Then it wouldn´t have rained in your kitchen.
Well because, I didn’t know this was going to happen and the builders wouldn’t have erected scaffolding just to do this. Also it can get very windy here in the winter as we are on the west coast. It’s all in the past now. Thank you for watching 🙏
I think you could be storing rain water off the roof. Are you vegetarian? I would have chickens if i lived there. Maybe a goat for milk too
Rain water collection from the roof is something I will be doing when I get the roof drainage system in place at the back of the house. I love goats 🐐 cheese! Thank you for your comment and for sharing this journey 🙏💕
Casa das frutas has a strange connection for football aficionados lol
Really, tell me more 🙏
