من هیچ زمانی به وطنم ایران وایرانی بودن خودم اینهمه افتخار نکرده بودم تاا اینکه این سخنرانی خانم دکتر نسرین معظمی را در TED TEHRAN تماشا کردم. درود بی پایان به این خانم دکتر دانشمند و تمامی همکاران گروه تحقیق ایشان.
دیدن این ویدیو نه تنها توصیه میشود بلکه وظیفه هر ایرانی است.
Amazing discovery and informative talk, I was involved in a small pilot project similar to this and it never made it past a protocol. Best of luck and wishing the team great success as it will be the way of future and progress. Brilliant

Professor Nasrin Moazami, Medical Microbiologist and biotechnologist, received her Ph.D. in 1976 from the Faculty of Medicine, Laval University, in Canada. Dr. Moazami is the pioneer of biotechnology and Microalgae based fuels in Iran.

This video was released in 2013. You're a scientist and speak with 100% of knowledge. it is close to a decade past since you have this speech. has there been anything done and how successful has your project been since?
I was in contact with Dr.Prokop major researcher in KISR who was experimenting with algae for the same purpose ? that was in 1982 ??

3- To extract oil from algae, cracking the oil plus hydrogenation of unsaturated molecules for production of Kerosene, Diesel, and so on , petroleum refineries of Iran are not suitable nor can be modified for this purpose.
To achieve this goal skilled technical personnel and complex machinery will be needed.plus production costs will exceed demand.

1- Expenses of energy consumption, fertilizer, salt water erosion of machinery ,employment, maintenance , for the stage of production of algae is least in this project. Very little technical information and skill is needed.
2- To produce ethanol (alcohol) Fermentation and Distillation units are to be built and run. Production expenses of this part of process will be more than previous stage and some technical information and skill is needed.

having the largest reserves of fossil fuel in the world (oil and natural gas combined) it is now revealed that Iran has the highest potential in producing biofuels. also one of the highest potentials for harvesting solar energy.

I don't believe that Iran lacks technological know-how and skills, specially in chemical related fields. I see lots of Iranian students in well-known foreign universities in this domain who long to go back and be useful with their new technological expertise.
I wonder what happens to this project, with the presence of Chinese in Persian Golf😥
Because It has the highest potential for biofuels, as you can see 11:19. also Iran working hard to become worlds energy superpower

جناب آقای امیر جعفر عزیز خیلی ممنون از ریز بینی جنابعالی اما توجه داشته باشیم وقتی یک حرکتی تازه شروع میشه حتما با خطا هایی قابل توجی انجام میشه که میتواند بتدریج رفع بشه , مهم این است که عمل کنیم و از خطا ها هم نترسیم البته در تمام دنیا حتی امریکا هم همبنطوره
این موضوع که همزمان با بقیهٔ کشور‌های پیشرفته در این مورد تحقیق و سرمایه‌گذاری میشود بسیار ارزشمند است ولی این سخنرانی بدون ارائه نتیجه و عملکرد تحقیقات( مثلا تفاوت بازدهی و کارایی این پروژه با دیگر پروژه ها)، به شیوه دولتمردان عوامگرا عمل می‌کند .

This technology has already been used by a company called Pond Biofuels at St. Marys Cement plant in Toronto- Canada.

جناب امیر جعفر، بحث برای ما جالب است که در ایران توانسته اند این تکنولوژی را بکار بگیرند. در ضمن اگر اکسون موبیل روی این سوخت سرمایه گذاری می کند، پس این کمپانی جاینت می داند کجا دارد هزینه می کند. مسئله را هم نه خانم دکتر ساده کرده، نه ما ساده به حساب میآوریم. این گروه به سرپرستی دکتر معظمی تلاش هایی کرده اند و این تلاش ها را من یکی بسیار ارج می گذارم.

As you know algae multiply naturally in places lakes, ponds rivers and pools. Suitable temperature, sun, and fertilizer hastens this production.
Growing algae is the easiest, least money and labor consuming stage in the process of production of fuel from algae.It is not a big deal, Iranian regime is blowing it up as a propaganda .
I am sure its not feasible and Iran will never be able to produce fuel from algae in industrial scale,due to following notes:

تولید سوخت از ریزجلبک کشف جدیدی نیست.مطالعه در این زمینه از حدود ۳۵ سال قبل در آمریکا شروع شده. .فقط شرکت اکسون موبیل در یک مورد ۶۰۰ میلیون دلار سرمایه‌گذاری کرده است . تولید سوخت از این روش هزینه دارد و مانع اصلی در حال حاضر این است که با تکنولوژی فعلی هزینه تولید از قیمت نفت بیشتر است.در این سخنرانی ذکری از هزینه تولید نیست، طوری صحبت میشود انگار که یک راه ایجاد درامد کم هزینه است که به سادگی ایران را فرمانروای انرژی دنیا می‌کند

4- Contrary to speaker's claims; Iran lacks technological know-how and skills to build , run and solve the production complications in industrial dimensions.
Consequently I am quite sure only the first stage of the project ,consisted of few pounds and aerators which costs next to nothing will be built,and millions of $ pocketed. That's all.

امیدوارم مطالعات زیست محیطی این پروژه دست کم گرفته نشده باشد.
ایشان ذکر میکنند که تولید سوخت از ریزجلبک ۵۰۰۰ گالون در هر ایکر در سال است .در یک طرح ۱۰۰۰ هکتاری سالی ۵۰ میلیون لیتر سوخت تولید میشود که مصرف یک روز فقط بنزین کشور را تامین میکنند. در سخنرانی اظهار میکنند که نیاز بنزین و سوخت کشور با راه اندازی طرح ۱۰۰۰ هکتاری تأمین میشود. صحبت از بازار ۱.۵ تریلیون دلاری در سال ۲۰۲۰ میکنند،در یک پیش بینی که در سال ۲۰۱۰ منتشر شده این عدد ۱.۳ میلیارد دلار است نه تریلیون !

در ابتدا میگویند انسان از ۶۰۰ میلیون سال قبل روی زمین بوده است! این عدد مربوط به اولین نشانه‌های جانداران و حیوانات روی زمین است ، اولین نشانه‌های موجودات شبیه انسان روی زمین مربوط به ۶-۱۲ میلیون سال قبل است .عجیب است که یک محقق متن سخنرانی را از قبل آماده نکرده باشد تا از این گونه اشتباهات فاحش جلوگیری کند .

There are some question for me:
1-Who told the human emerged 600 million years ago? please show me just one reference.
2- There is no other place in the whole wide world to have the same climate or physical condition similar to Persian Golf for producing this huge amount of fuel?
3- As one of the posting said there is no word about the cost of this method.
I am not pessimist, but I am a little skeptical about this presentation, and find it some kind of advertisement.
In fact her bigger mistake was to specify a date that humans evolved. Because we have constantly been evolving since millions of years ago.
Also "The splitting date between human and chimpanzee lineages" is not "when humans evolved". The first human who could speak (the first homosapien) showed up less than 500,000 years ago.
این درست نیست که هر مسئله ای را سیاسی کنیم. من به خانم دکتر نسرین معظمی تبریک میگویم که با پیشبرد این پروژه به توسعه و پیشرفت صنعتی و انرژی در ایران یاری میرساند. من امیدوارم که قانون گذاران این رژیم از خود سوال کنند که با زنان ایران چگونه رفتارمیکنند آیا دکتر معظمی با این درجه از علم و توانائی قادر است برای پوشش خود تصمیم بگیرد ؟ آیا سهم این خانم از دیه و شهادت و حق سفرو حضانت و ....با سهم همسر او برابر است؟ تکنولوژی پیشرفته در خدمت چند درصد مردم ایران قرار میگیرد؟ با احترام ویکتوریا آزاد
