Back when I worked at a Chevy dealer we had a customer that was a businessman and was always driving to St. Louis for work, he bought a C5 Corvette for a "work car". When asked, he said he could cruise in 6th gear (Manual) and get 30-36mpg all day and still be driving a sports car! A great car even today!

Shortest plug wire on my old '85 S-10 2.8L V-6 would increase in resistance and cause misfires. anything over 400 ohms - bad. I kept a spare set of wires in a bag behind the seat. Rainy days were especially bad with the misfire. Simple swap out, and voila, smooth operation.
Old GM dealer mechanic down the street once asked me once if I owned a spark plug wire company yet.......he knew the problem well...

I'm sure a lot of folks know this already, but if you ohm out your spark plug wires and find one with massively high resistance or you find the spark plug gaps are WAY too wide, you might as well go ahead and replace that coil, because the resistance of bad plug wires or too large of a spark plug gap will often cause coils to fail by forcing them to work far harder than their normal operating range in order to force their spark to ground (across the spark plug gap and to the engine block)...

VSS circuit 817 from the PCM C2 cavity 50 dark green white stripe goes to the Instrument cluster A7, but also to the Electronic Suspension control module cavity C6 connector C2.. also a dark green and white.. could your Electronic suspension control module have a shorted to ground wire.. so that is in the new harness.. since the PCM is seeing the VSS signal ... the VSS signal comes into the PCM also on connector C2 cavity 20/purple wire and 21 yellow wire.. but those are probably OK.
hint... find the exhaust leak with a cold exhaust by using a shop vacuum on blow or a leaf blower into the tail pipe.. to lightly pressurize the system..

Tablet knows the speed of the car because it's going off of wheel speed sensors. The speedometer goes based off of the transmission speed sensor. Wheel speed sensors are a secondary method for the car's transmission computer to read the speed of the vehicle, but it's slower, resulting in rougher shifting. The TSS is super easy to swap out on these, you don't have a speedo, that is most likely the issue.
