Loved this! Anna Kendrick is so good- I can watch her in anything,, and she did such a great job for her directorial debut. The killer creeped me out. The dinner/parking lot scene is every woman's nightmare!! Glad you reacted to this one!👏❤️
I saw it. It was okay, just okay. SPOILERS/CRITIQUES: -It basically didn't have an ending. It just fizzled out. -The nonlinear story telling wasn't a plus to the film. -While one of them was a serial killer so I get it, I didn't like Anna's character overall snarky nature especially when she 'took control' at the dating game. I know why they character did it, but the whole thing did not sit right with me. -It was a good story overall, but it felt 'dry.' Okay movie. Worth one watch.
Hey, Lee- IDK if someone already commented on this and it's probably not important but Jim Carrey chipped his tooth when he was a kid. He had his dentist remove the filling for the movie. I remember first hearing this like 20yrs ago. Anyway, good review. Not a lot of people know about this guy
Saw this yesterday, I liked it. The trailer was a scene from their meal date and him following her in the car park. Sometimes with movies like this u don't need many scenes in the trailer, just one can tell u what the movie will feel like or is. Movie was very good.
I watched this on Monday night - with my parents of all people. I thought it was excellent. The sense of underlying dread from start to finish was so unnerving - you're constantly on the edge of your seat waiting for something to happen. The movie is very understated without undermining the horror of what is happening. My parents really liked it as well.
This story needed a movie at some point. I feel like a woman making it can hit the perspective of what she saw in him and his charm. Dark triad vibes. Definitely going to check this one out.
I was tense throughout this and I think it does a great job of showing how women were mostly ignored at this time even in the opening audition scene and probably why this evil man got away with this for so long. I hope the real guy got his missing tooth from one of his victims fighting back!
Brad Pitt had a repaired chipped tooth that he had undone for Fight Club. He also said in Premiere Magazine back in the day that it was Jennifer Aniston that cut his hair for the finale.
I enjoyed this film HOWEVER after viewing it I watched a video that highlighted the accurate details, and also those that were completely made up. the real story is more chilling. so I cant say Im a fan of Kendricks, and the writers, creative decision making.
Horror has avoided the "truth is stranger than fiction" tales of serial killers. I suppose it's out of respect for the family members, which is understandable. Some recent serial killer films downplay their acts through dark comedy. I don't know how I feel about that. There was a man named "Joseph Edward Duncan III", and he basically blogged his crimes. It's one of the most disturbing memoirs ever written online from one of the most depraved man you'll ever hear of.
So, it's the guy who is the killer. I was thinking this would be like a Pamela Voorhees like killer but going on The Dating Game to pick out her next victim. Well, Google is such a mess because of this movie, hard to find stuff that just deal with the real life case and ignores this movie, closest I could find is Wikipedia which I didn't see Cheryl Bradshaw listed under victims, so guessing she lived and had Se x in the City. Oh wait, that last one was Carrie Bradshaw. 😉😂🤣 But yeah, no listing under victims, so guess she survived. But anyways, maybe I'll check this out. Thank you, Lee.
i watched the movie, the movie has great aspects. the tension in the dialogues is so captivating. i loved everything about the movie except for one thing, the date show scenes, they were completely changed, in addition to not fitting the characters, it casts a shadow on the credibility of the movie. because we can see what really happened in that show, it's on youtube, why are you using a real life story if you're going to change it, the rest of the movie gives the impression of fantasy. i don't understand why they felt the need for such changes, it's a stupid fantasy satisfaction. i wish they hadn't.
@@DrumdumsOfficial I couldn’t relate to the killer for most of the movie. Just didn’t fit for me but closer to the end I did. Also Anna is an actor I am mixed on but overall I thought it was a good movie.

Yes she did Kathy! She definitely has that magnetic quality about her.
The real woman never went on the date, she cancelled it because her gut told her to.
This was a great film. Anna Kendrick did a fantastic job in her directorial debut.
Yes she did!
Lets hope for more Anna Kendrick acting _and_ directing!
Agreed! She knocked it out of the park with his one.
Great cast and a plot that definitely has me interested; thank you for drawing attention to this one!
Welcome David!

You're going to enjoy it Tiph!
wanted to know more about the runaway girl she was so good !
Yes! I loved her. She reminded me of Margaret Qualley so much.
I really enjoyed this one and that guy Daniel from It follows/Don't Breathe, I love him in everything he does..
Yes he is always great. Kind of like Christopher Abbot.
This story needed a movie at some point. I feel like a woman making it can hit the perspective of what she saw in him and his charm. Dark triad vibes. Definitely going to check this one out.
Agreed Liana. I'm glad this had a woman's perspective. If felt refreshing and eye opening. I heard there was a TV movie on it back in the day as well.
I'm definitely going to check this out. The Alcala story is creepy enough. Add Anna Kendrick?! I'm in.
@@ryanmclellan8740 Definitely do!

Oh it has a blu-ray preorder? Nice!

Oh I knew there were some liberties taken. The only thing that annoyed me was how one dimensional she made the other two contestants.
Thanks for dropping this video. I just watched it and it´s a good movie.
Welcome!

I like that this movie paid respect to the victims.
Was there any contractual obligation for the woman to really go with the guy after picking him in the Dating Game? Can't believe anyone would do that.
No not at all. And the real woman cancelled because he gave her a creepy vibe.

I thought it was good but it felt like it was missing something. 6.5/10
I hear that a lot. And agreed.
Didn't Robert De Niro mess up he teeth for Cape Fear? sure I read that somewhere.
I believe it!
Kinda reminds of Ted Bundy woman charmer
But really a killed mostly targeting woman
Agreed.
So an actress play a character that wants to be an actress?
Yep.
True story ? Or true events I think they (Hollywood)over do movies
Awful ending
Not a fan of anna. These movies are pretty disappointing, especially after the terrible Boston Strangler with keira knightley.
Oh I love Anna.
