So I decided to finally buy an Xbox Series X from eBay... I wanted to make it interesting, so I bought an Xbox Series X from a sketchy listing. i have a 30 mbps connection and it would probably take at least 16 hours since i once tried downloading a 40 gb game and it took about 6 hours

The reason you don't move the controller is when it updates it's calibrating the sticks and buttons and if you move anything they could result in miss-calibration and improper inputs.
Also, leaveing alkaline batteries in any device could lead to corrosion especially being shipped this time of year with the heat and humidity.

Got my series X from gamestop a couple weeks ago! Had to wait on line at 10am to even get one! They only had 14 in store.
I used to install CD games offline on my XB1 S then update afterwards was so much faster. Unfortunately my XSS is all digital so can't do that but it's the bomb

I wonder if the COD disk only has a launcher program and proof of purchase.
I think you should be able to install from the disc if you disconnect from the internet. That massive update was just the game itself downloading. But you should be able to install directly from the disc if it's an Xbox Series X or Xbox One game. Xbox 360 games cannot be installed directly from the disc though. They always have to be downloaded once the disc is inserted.
Most of the time the data on the disc is an early version of the game, typically when the Dev team 'goes gold' with their game they burn whatever they have so far on the disc. Then once the game releases they put the rest of the stuff they developed after onto a day one update. So technically the entire game Isn't on the disc, just a portion.
I still want an xbox I am hoping i get into that Insider xbox thing to get one, the xbox seem fun this gen which i missed last gen.

Just got one but the power cable is a bit wobbly after plugging it in, is that normal? It's not loose to the point of falling out easily but it does wobble side to side and up and down if I move it with my finger
Was it new or used? The cable shouldn't really wiggle around, but someone might've given you a third party power cable that doesn't fit as well as the OEM one

Jeez why did you pay so much for this? Are they really that hard to find in the US? In the UK they were about £650 on launch but have come down to almost retail now. Paying almost double is really expensive 6 month after launch.
Yes they are really hard to find and I couldn't get mine cheaper than 750. I had to order from Canada to even get it that cheap but it was worth every penny.

Honestly, I would have wiped everything down with a microfiber cloth and gentle cleaner such as clear windex before handing it, you don’t know if the seller is clean or not as he or she sent the item dirty to you. Just sayin 🤢

I paid $60 for mine brand new sealed I just paid sales tax and shipping. But I would never pay over MSRP or scalper prices. Consoles don't gain value they actually depreciate and there will be a more powerful console that comes out few years after if you paid anything over $550 Then you got ripped.. You'd would have done better waiting. You basically paid that much just to play a bunch of regurgitated slightly enhanced last Gen games
