Isn't it funny how The Billie train works? You typically start off in the sort of Bad Guy or similar zone, thinking this is fun, fresh and quirky. And 15 songs down the line she's ripping your heart out and revealing yet more layers to her creative talents! So glad you caught this performance. The silence of the crowd is deafening. As for the whole Steve Jobs show, it's pretty fantastic (except maybe parts of the opener Ocean Eyes before her vocals had warmed up properly). My personal faves from this show, aside from Listen, are Xanny, Ilomilo, 8/Party Favor and the acoustic versions of Bad Guy and Bury a Friend, because they are so different with just a guitar. But it's all great if you like the live acoustic stuff. Here's an idea: maybe schedule a live watch party and we can all watch it together and comment as we go?

It was her own suicide note. She said she wrote it so if anyone else feels the need to do this that her words are probably their words and if they need to let it out she wants this song to uplift them and hopefully they don’t feel alone

I agree. And how bass hits when she said "... but down". Also the police sirens and woman's scream at the end...
All the other songs were so captivating from S. Jobs, and this one was beautiful, but it just hits different with Finneas' production.

G'day G. Great react 😎 💕 The 1st line, "Take me to the rooftop", starts me off. 😪 OMG, Her voice is SO delicate & 'cries' the lyrics. Her magical use of silence & spaces, could portray the gasps of breath, like inward sobs, that stem the flow of any heartrending message. Maybe? Either way, a beautiful rendition.💖 I haven't heard the album version, but I don't know if I could handle the "screams & sirens", & OMG "whoosh & thump", sounds as described below. 😖 😭

Thanks for reacting to this live performance! I hadn't seen this one before and it was nice to experience it the first time myself and through your eyes. Hopefully you listened to the studio version after this one. In that version there are ambulance sirens after the last "sorry" and you can hear someone scream. The way I read this song is that it starts with "take me to the rooftop, i wanna see the world when i stop breathing, turning blue..." and it's basically her literally telling someone close to her all the things in the song as she starts to fade from life... I like to imagine it as from an overdose or something similar. Especially with the "sorry can't save me now, sorry i don't know how"... she overdosed and doesn't know how to save herself.
Anyway, I'm going through all your Billie reactions and really enjoying them!! I think you'd really like watching her documentary "The World's a Little Blurry" if you haven't yet. Would love to see your reaction to that.
