Ronnie , aside from his great great playing as a jazz player, left an indelible mark on the Latin music scene in NYC, similar to the late, great Barry Rogers on trombone. These guys were such great musicians and really had “the feeling” for this Latin style and not only absorbed that style but brought something so special to it. Both Ronnie and Barry were part of the evolution of this music as it found a home in NYC. Ronnie will be missed by lovers of Jazz and NYC Salsa dura
Ronnie plays the Baritone so beautifully and emotionally from the top to the bottom. I've always been amazed by his emotional and technical range on the Bari.
For years I wished I had a bari sax and when my school decided to give me one of theirs I was excited until I found out that it needs hours of work before it would produce some notes, but after a year of working on it I finally can play it and bari sax is the most versatile and maneuverable sax I have ever played because I can play alto, tenor, or the normal bari music with my range and I enjoy playing in the upper register of the alto music with bari sax.
I agree 100%. I've played tenor for almost thirty years but started playing Baritone two years ago. I love the instrument. having all that bottom is awesome and with the altissimo I have the same range with a great sound!
I once saw him on a video with the Lionel Hampton band. I was so impressed with his playing and thought then that he ranked with the best baritone playing musicians.
I love those tenor note on that baritone saxophone. They pop out. Mr. Cuber, you’re one of my influences when it comes to all saxophonists, including baritone saxophonists. The baritone saxophone and the tenor saxophone make a good duo. And one more thing, Mr. Cuber, please perform that saxophone on smooth jazz, quiet storm and neo-soul, along with the bass-baritone male singers, including Will Downing. And please come to Orlando, Florida, to perform.
Ronnie Cuber’s tone on bari was some of the best I’ve ever heard. May he rest in peace.
If I had to pick one player to represent the bari, it would be him for sure!
Ah my god what a magnificent tone that Ronnie Cuber got out of his Baritone Sax . Incredible beauty. We will miss you Ronnie . Rest in Peace .
R.I.P. Ronnie, thank you for all the music and inspiration
Hi berm
I thought I didn't like jazz until I heard Ronnie Cuber play. The man totally changed how I look at the entire genre.

Ronnie plays the Baritone so beautifully and emotionally from the top to the bottom. I've always been amazed by his emotional and technical range on the Bari.
