We did a similar one in September '21. From Bari, Italy to Dubrovnik, and then all through the Adriatic coast before turning inland to Plitvice Lakes. WOOOW! What an amazing trip that was. Thanks for this reminder. I have to put up our Croatia video soon!

What a stunning pair of Countries, you jammy git Bruce, glad you had a great time. I did the full coast back in 2016 after watching Richyvida's vid, looking at doing it again , hopefully next year coming back from Istanbul

I live in croatia on the coast (Pula). And Karlobag-Senj is one of may favorite roads. Fast and flowing , great view.

Terrific video. I do have one question though. Wouldn't a long runway leading into the side of a mountain have been a dead giveaway there was an airbase inside the mountain? Doesn't matter now I guess- what matters is that Slovenia has great scenery and great riding!

Great riding roads in both countries, crossed at the same border as you, no problem and we found most EU border posts off the the main routes either un-manned or demolished👍 If you are riding a UK reg bike then no need to worry about speed tax collectors as the the UK does not now share vehicle info, you lucky lot!!
About speed cameras and police, there is a tolerance, so up to 100kmh its a 10kmh tolerance, meaning you can do 60 in a 50, 50 in 40 without being fined and if you include that most speedos show higher then real speed you are more then safe. Over 100kmh is 10% tolerance.
My wife's family have a place on the Adriatic coast where you rode, unfortunately when we visited in 2009 it was by car and bus! I swore I'd come back and ride the roads but it's a long way from Australia and haven't been able to get back yet.

Quality that one Bruce. What do you do to prepare for a long day in such heat on a bike you don’t normally ride. I’m assuming just do it but wondered if there are any tips or tricks
Aye you just get on with it and crack on bud - there’s no easy fix 🤷♂️
One bit of advice I’d give though is to keep hydrated as often as you can. When you fill up with fuel make sure you grab a bottle of water or something like that, then make sure you have a drink as often as you can throughout the day 👍

Ah ok - ANY bike will tour anywhere mate, it’s just a question of what bike you like and how you like to ride really.
The roads are all tarmac and good quality - nothing to worry about 👍
When I look outside right now (lousy cold, rainy and foggy - translated ... typical British weather, right in the middle of Germany) I can't help myself but I have to hate you a bit for this video Bruce even if it was done last year ;).

What jacket were you wearing in that temperature? Would you recommend it? Or was it too hot?
Hi Colin, when i went it was 42 degrees, klim jacket and trousers with all the vents open, flip top helmet in the open position and a 3 litre waterbag in the rear of the jacket with a hose threaded through to enable drinking whilst riding, i was doing 2 bags a day
Colin - you was wearing the Icon ‘Raiden’ jacket then. It wasn’t waterproof and was hot when temps were above around 25 degrees plus.
Big boy, what's the most mileage you've done in a day, was it on the round the world trip ?
Aye, I did around 1,400 in Russia, took me about 23hrs and nearly finished me! I couldn’t get off the bike at the end, had to rock side to side and just fall onto the floor like an upturned turtle 🤣🤦♂️

I have been many times in that part and I can say it is fantastic but don't try doing that in summer because it is full of turists and the rosds are full
Ha Ha yes this was at the start of August and there was a lot of traffic along the coast.

If its 50,you can do 60. No problem with police. Yes,police is everywhere. Croatia is police/corupted country. I am from Croatia. Belive me,in non tourist regions,there is much more police. Their job is to write tickets,so will check everything,if you are domestic, to write you any kind of ticket. Locations of speedcameras can be found on internet.
Southern part of Croatia,has also fantastic roads. You can drive,park bike near road,and few meters away from road,you can swimm in the sea. Just wear a swimwear under gear..

Croatia is in Schengen from 01.01.2023. so no borders from EU....
