I don't comment often. But every week when I see you have uploaded a new video, it makes my day. I live alone except for my wife's little dog and consider you one of my online neighbors.
This is fascinating. When I was a teen in southern Kentucky, many folks had an Owensboro 2T, 2 1/2T or 3T wagon in a barn somewhere, a relic of the still fairly recent days when they'd farmed with mules. Mules didn't entirely go out of favor in the area until the fifties and sixties, due to the area being remote and rugged, and fields small, and many folks far enough from the nearest gas pump to make tractor farming impractical. One old fellow in our neighborhood was a hermit. His family had been quite prosperous back in the day, and he'd stayed home to care for his parents until they'd died. By that time, he was middle aged and unmarried, and he remained living in their home, preserving pretty much everything as it had been when they were living. He actually had two "team wagons" pushed into a barn and a corn crib. One was the usual Owensboro, which I believe was a 3T, and the other was one of these. I suspect the reason for there being two was that his father had both farmed and logged. The International was probably for picking corn, and the 3T Owensboro was a logging wagon. The International was in very good condition at the time. All I saw wrong with it was a rotten felloe where it was in the mud a little. The color was the green you showed on a bolt, with yellow wheels, kinda reminiscent of a John Deere.
I love how coach builders from yesteryear knew how to strengthen their coaches without adding rigidity that could weaken the coach. Pure genius! Thanks for sharing!

Some folks have no idea the time for research you put into a build or repair before ever accepting the job. Keep up the good work and videos and I’ll be waiting for the other ones on this build.
I like old Internationals and seeing old Internationals being restored but I think this is the oldest International that ever watched being restored. Very nice job and thank you for keeping history alive.

Can never get tired of watching these types of videos. I'm in the process of rebuilding an old end dump grain wagon in which the sides and ends were riveted together. It's just finding the rivets to replace with now. Great video. Cheers :)

Thanks for watching, I do and from my point of view it's Thank You for taking the time to make and post these enlightening video's of your expertise and superb skills that are very enjoyable to watch and see just how much work is involved to restore and keep as much of the past generations way of life. Maybe a hundred years or so from now someone such as yourself with similar skill will be using your restoration as a pattern to restore or rebuild another one just like the one you have just done, unfortunately neither you or me will be around to see that one .

I never knew that IH made covered wagons. I used to have a 1970 Travelall when I lived in Colorado and that thing was well built and so it seems so we're the wagons that came before them. Looking forward to the next installment.

I was a part of rebuilding a 1902, 3” cannon a few years ago. It was, and still is, a great source of pride when it was finished. Doing work like this would be a great hobby.

At 5 minutes, I was sure you were going to hit your thumb hammering the nails in the cross pieces.
Even the military grade artificial human hit himself with the knife in Aliens. You're amazing.
Thanks for sharing. Riveting reminds me of replacing sickles on the old 7' sickle bar mower we used for cutting hay. I've set many a rivet in the hay fields under blistering sun. You do a good demonstration of the smoke wrench too. :) Before the gas torch they just twisted or cold chiseled them off and had the blacksmith make new parts. There was a time when blacksmiths, millwrights and wheelwrights were the technicians of transportation. If they still were today we'd have a smaller population and fewer environmental problems. And we'd all be just as happy.
Kerosene penetrated and loosened. Two hammer technique would swell a nut to loosen it if there was space to work.

When I was a kid in the 1970's my great grandmother had an old wagon on her property.
She used to tell us stories about her family moving west in the late 1800's & how her father built the house she still lived in. My cousin & I loved those stories but I never wondered about that old wagon. Watching this video made me think of it. I would guess, there is a good chance that was the very wagon they moved west in. She passed when I was about 12 & her house was later bulldozed & hauled to the dump.
That's a sad thought but we can't keep everything from the past. I would love to have that wagon though. That would be a neat piece of family history.

He turned 80 acres of weeds into a thriving dairy farm, behind a horse. My Mother's family farm had horse rakes, and was a loose hay operation into the Sixties.

I can put it into words, I simply amazed by your craftsmanship and the talent that you have in building the arts of work. I can imagine how must time you have put into this life long journey of this art. I watch you and keep my eyes and ears on what you ch parts say and what you haven't said. just looking in every part and pieces that you laid you hands-on and the knowledge of how each pieces fist together and what it should feel and look like to the eyes and the touch. I'm so glad your channel popup and I stop to see this art of amazement. Thank you for showing this to the youtube world I have subscribed and can't wait till you finish each of the projects

There was an old farm wagon like this that was abandoned in the woods across from my house as a kid. I presume it had been left there back when the woods were still a field. But I used to rip off pieces of scrap metal and bring them home. Nice to see what it might have looked like new.

This is what I want. Have my own barn and some tools to make things out of wood. At 35 plus years I founds myself far away from that dream. I am as low as I can get. I ges I am out of focus because things happen in life. Always helping others but myself. I am still young no reason to give up of course.

But it will happen again. I really like watching your videos. I learn from it. I almost watched them all now. I told people about your videos. They are tuning in. Keep it up! I could afford to buy everything needed to accomplish such work but would lack the talent and ability to do such marvelous work. Smile! Oh by the way I have held a residential builders license for 34 years. Would love to be this mans neighbor.

I see many people discouraged with the, old bolts that have been untouched for 50 or so years..me i think that just means for 50 years no rush, i'll spray them down with WD40 and wait some more, they'll come loose if I spray & wait enough. Might want to spray rusted parts at the beginning of a project so you really aren't loosing time while you work on the wood.. Love it
You see people working who are clearly expert at what they are doing and the amount of people offering advice on how to do it astounds me.
I'm 75 years old and would still like to build things like that. I have the machines/tools but not the space I'd need for such a project.
Get ya some of those little pop up tents anchor them to the ground or even portable car ports and put sides on them
75 isn't that old these days.
I've been watching a lot of your videos and I subscribed, the work you do is extremely interesting, and I'm glad to see that there's still people that know how to do coachwork and wheelwright work. One of your first videos that I watched, you were putting rubber tires on a wagon wheel, and I never knew that any of the old wagons and coaches had rubber tires, it was a very interesting video, thanks.

Huh, never figured that the beds would want to have the tongue and groove method. I figured that it would be better if they had a little more give so they don't snap. Interesting.
