Remote and wild, the Yukon is a river of haunting beauty and dangerous extremes - a place where the 'call of the wild' is still strong. In summer, it is a relentless giant, carving its way 2,000 miles across Canada and Alaska. In winter, -50C temperatures transform it into a river of ice.
Home to grizzlies, moose and great runs of salmon, the Yukon lies at the heart of a vast northern wilderness. Bears delay their winter hibernation to fish for a final salmon feast, while the frozen river provides a lifeline for lynx and a race track for intrepid dog sledders. From indigenous hunters to gold-prospectors, musk ox to caribou, the Yukon’s natural riches have long sustained people and animals and continue to do so despite its changing fortunes.

Surprised the US obsessed BBC didn't title this US state of Yukon or Alaskan bears Salmon fish. Reminds me of the US tourists who drive to Alaska driving through the far more picturesque Canadian province of British Columbia with barely any interest or contact other then gas fills. Says an awful lot about Yanks.

BC and Alberta are definitely some of the most scenic provinces on the planet but most Americans won't venture across the border to explore them. Accessing Mt Assiniboine or Berg lake is not that easy to do though. It takes some serious hiking. The Alaska highway through most of Yukon is pretty uneventful; it doesn't get scenic again until you hit Alaska. Moreover, most Americans all follow the herd and visit Zion, Yellowstone, or Bryce and wonder why their Instagram inspired vacation destination choices are so crowded. I avoid those places.

This is on the well-known Fishing Branch River. It is not explained in this video, but the river stays ice free for most of the winter because upstream it is fed partly by hot springs.

😏 Maybe We're The 1st Spiritist* Pop-Metal Or Rock Band In This World...
But Don't Pay Much Attention To Our Neanderthal English, HaHa ❤️ HaHa
    *NOTE:
Spiritist is who professes Spiritism, the Gospel continuation
It has began with the books by Allan Kardec and continued in the books by Francisco C. Xavier, the greatest and more important medium/prophet of spirits of the last centuries...
