Look at John Basilone who was with the 1st Marine Division as he after wiping out an entire Banzai attack on Guadalcanal went on war bonds tour then volunteered himself to fight during Iwo Jima, 1st MARDIV was also in World At War and Dale Dye was also in the 5th Marine Regiment in the Vietnam War
This game got a lot negative reviews but I personally enjoyed the campaign and probably one of my favorite campaigns I’ve played on COD.. I still play it often

Waffe 28 is actually an MP28/II. The Germans, specifically the Waffen SS, made use of them because they were outside traditional army procurement. But, fun historical note, the Japanese DID purchase the Bergmann 1920 (commerical MP18 with stick mags) and the Steyr-Solothurn S1-100 (commerical name of the MP34, which [IIRC] is a German designation for the weapon. The Japanese purchased them in relatively small quantities during the war in China. It’s clear to see the influence these two weapons had on the Type 100 design.
I used to play a lot of multiplayer on this, the war mode and prop hunt but it then got to the point of sitting in lobby’s forever. Was such a shame I really enjoyed this game

Probably easy difficulty, i play this on hardened and you need to play realistically or else you'll be one shot by an enemy 50 yards away.
