Thanks - I was so stuck in my set up and watched your review and setup, and BAMMMMM, it all fell into place, and I am set to go. Thank you so much!!!! I am subscribing immediately - thanks a lot!!
Thank you so much. I know this video is old and was having issues with the bluetooth connection and once I unpaired from everything it worked! Like you said, can only be connected to one device at a time. Thanks!
I have had harman and kardon soundsticks from 2004 and just upgraded to wireless. We have had many a nights with these speakers on full blast in my Uni days. I am a bit confused by the review. Its certainly not club material but they are absolutely fine for house parties and movie nights. Last thing I would add is speakers that are not designed to be flat should not be tested in that way. There are speakers out there for that purpose. Sound Sticks however do hiss a little at low volume but its not a deal breaker. FOR ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED THIS ROBERT LONDON HAS REMOVED MY COMMENTS AND BLOCKED ME BECAUSE HE' CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH...... EVEN WHEN I THREW HIM AN OLIVE BRANCH!!!! VERY NARCISSISTIC....
+Retro Element They are not loud enough or powerful enough for a party that involves really partying and they are too directional as demonstrated by laying them flat to achieve good enough room filing sound quality at a dinner party. There is nothing confusing about the review - it demonstrates they are great computer speakers in both function & design which is what they are designed too be and that there are far better available speakers from both H&K or other manufacturers for other applications like parties or home cinema. And there is absolutely no hiss from the speakers at any volume unless your input device produces one.
ROBERTS LONDON The movement and flexibility is for tilting the speakers to enhance sound and for aesthetic reasons. The are not intended to be used flat...unless you intend to be hovering facing the speakers. Its a no brainier, coz you can tell from looking at the design how they are meant to be used. Most speakers are DESIGNED upright for a reason. Sound waves travel in given direction until the hit something. So pointing them upwards and expecting them to produce the same quality sound is very unrealistic and not logical. As for the hissing I am being very pedantic. But I do have very sharp hearing and all my music is from the apple store so I doubt its got anything to do with the quality of audio files. The hissing is definitely present from my iMac, laptop, ipad and iphone at a low volume. Ps. Its the same music from the same cloud. As I alluded to earlier...Harman and Kardon sound sticks are brilliant especially if you haven't used them previously.
+Retro Element At no point do I suggest the speakers should be used pointing to the ceiling, I do it to demonstrate the opposite and their directional design. Your now telling me I shouldn't point them at the ceiling because they are directional - I pointed them at the ceiling to demonstrate exactly that? Your now telling me exactly what I just told you in the video? LOL There are many different speaker applications and designs, you could do a similar demonstration with the H&K Aura model to demonstrate the opposite and its omni directional design compared to the soundsticks. There should be no hissing from the speaker, if there is and you are sure its not your devices sound card etc , cables or your audio files then you should return the speaker for repair or exchange.
Thanks for a wonderful review , i was looking to buy speakers for my mac mini , you have certainly helped me make a decision. Also do you thing playing on bluetooth or direct on PC makes a difference in sound quality ..
HI! Sajid Kazi Thanks! Glad you found the review helpful. I didn't notice any difference in the quality between the speakers being connected by cable or by Bluetooth.
Wow, great review. I couldn't figure out where the power amp is because every picture shows a side view of the subwoofer which makes the power amp invisible but thanks to your review I see it is in the sub like other 2.1 systems. Your description of the volume it generates proves it's 40 watts is accurate too but given it's price people are paying for the looks. I have the Logitech Z623's which are less expensive but would definitely play louder. I wish other reviewers were as thorough as you so thanks.
These speakers are fantastic at filling a room with sound to dance to.....In fact my friends coming round always comment on the quality of sound and guess what.....my last party had these speakers sending out the dance tunes.
Hi! +compactc9 I'm very happy with them still. To be honest I haven't used the Bluetooth much since I got them so the standard set would have been suitable for me also.
Great video! Always wondered what the fuss were all about with those... now I know! Thanks. Also, do you happen to know anything about voice over mics? I am looking for one myself.
HI! Mandyphoe Thanks! Glad you liked the video. I use a Blue Yeti microphone to voice over my vlogs and it is very good, much better than any other microphone I have tried - there is a video about it on my channel and there is a link to it in most of my videos descriptions.
I love how they've designed them so you must firmly grasp the base of the phallus to turn them up/down. HA! ...but seriously.. great speakers! I've been a fan since way back in G3 times.. had an isub with my imac g3! and a pair of the amazing pro/globe speakers with a griffin Ifire that i hate myself for selling for like $20 at a yard sale like 15ish years ago. anyway, great review! and excellent / very true point that is important but rarely mentioned .. about the directionality!
That is a great review! Do you think that it is possible to run the sub without the satellite speakers? I am using the harman kardon nova with my mac pro and I am wondering if it would be a nice idea to add a subwoofer.
Hi! +cristi nel Thanks! glad you liked the review. I think gaming development is dominated by headsets. 5.1 with a real headset would be cool but its beyond most gamers set-up.
Please don't waste your money. Cheap 5.1s are all miserably useless, and this one is just a nice furniture, nothing more. It's phisically impossible to get a decent sound-quality out of this construction.
They are cool, they are great, but whether you use them or not, in 4-5 years, the rubber material in the 8 speaker drivers from the 2 towers will disintegrate and you will have to replace them at $12;50 per lot of 2, or about $50 to replace all 8. I've had my pair of Soundsticks II for the past 15-16 years. The center speaker is still running like new, but the towers not as well. I've had to refurbish them 2X already.
Ive had mine literally forever. since we got our first Mac in the early 2000s it's possible they are even the stick iis. used them all the time and still use them in 2023. never had to fix anything at all. still work like new.
I thought this was originally the living room speakers, but I have the crazy intention to use it with my PC. Once I watched your video, it is confirmed that these speakers are the computer speakers in the first place.
Hey Robert. Thanks for the review. I can't find any answers on the internet so I was wondering if you could help me. I just got my HK Wireless Soundsticks and I understand that they power down automatically when not in use. I wanted to know if it is ok to leave your HK sound system "on" all the time and let it automatically power down or is it better to turn it off at the back after every use?
Thank you for making this review, to all viewers, Make sure to buy from the Harman Kardon website, there are sellers on eBay but after a few months they stop working so they're counterfeit. Harman Kardon website is your safest bet.
It is viable but what you really want is some gaming headphones with a microphone and an itchy trigger finger - thats what I use to kill every last one every time
+Coffee Break Hero if you can don't buy gaming headphones. normal headphones are better sounding and not overpriced with marketing tactics like virtual surround that only makes the experience worse. get a decent microphone, or a modmic and then an open back headphone. cheap ones like cheap superlux headphones sounds better than most >100$gaming headsets and a modmic has multiple times better audio than those gaming headset mics. another alternative is blue microphone's snowflake which goes onto your monitor.
+Coffee Break Hero the modmic has even been used by casters for games on live events and podcasts. so yeah definite bang for the Buck way better than gaming headsets. but shipping costs and stuff so hey take this as an option. gaming headsets are cheaper for some people.
you had to raise your voice at half the laptop volume and the speakers turned down. I don't understand what you mean when it wouldn't fill a room for people to dance in? fair enough not a club size dance floor but surely these are powerful enough to fill a reasonably sized living room?
+Mason Davies I now own these and can say that i've never had the opportunity to play at full volume because they shake the rooms upstairs and downstairs in my student house. they can fill a big living room at half volume. They will fill a house at full volume
Thank you for your obviously owner review(you sound like my Dad reviewing lol, I am not knocking you-you are reviewing like it is and quite frankly, I truly applaud your honest approach) Thank you for your very informative review but I think to be aesthetically pleasing in 2018 it is missing, dare I say RGB as it looks like belongs in the kitchen(BASE SPEAKER LOOKS LIKE A BLENDER :). I do after looking at the date of your review realize this was not the in thing at that time and if I was to purchase this item I would be thinking of adding some subtle RGB lighting to the items. Thank you for your time and effort and hope you and family are well MR London.

Hi, If the speakers are connected to my pc with the jack can I still use bluetooth and my iphone to play music or do i need to disconnect the jack from the pc first? Thanks
Can they be used as home theatre ?? Instead of computer attachment . Or they are only meant for pc attachment ? I want a home theatre ,, do i prefer this ?
did you mean the z623?i got one for years. you can shake your windows with that sub. no jokes. most of the time i turn the sub to 10% and 0 at night. about the speakers, they don't sound decent.
Hello, let’s consider the Soundstick wired to my TV. If the TV is in sleep-mode, with its screen off, can I connect to the Soundstick via bluetooth (i.e. with my phone) and if yes, will the bluetooth be considered as primary even though the TV is still plugged? Thanks, great video !
I know you recommended these for Laptops or phones, but I want to use these for my TV also. Is it possible to connect these to any smart TV (if so, what all auxiliary cables do I need?). I love this model and I want to use it any how.
+Nikhil Kummaragunta you can connect them to any device with bluetooth or a 3.5mm headphone socket - so if you can connect headphones to your tv you can connect these
Have you experienced any problems with the Bluetooth cutting out? Mine does this every time I pair my iPhone & have had to resort to solely using the 3.5mm headphone jack. Thank you
Thanks for the review my friend very useful. I have subbed and look forward to watching more of your videos. Its nice to see another TH-cam not far from me.. Have a great week.
I am looking at purchasing these to listen to music from my iPad would i be able to listen to them at the other side of a room with good quality or would the direction of them affect it a lot or could you recommend some speakers under £100 that will do the job better but keeping the quality.
HI! +Thomas B They are computer speakers - Harman & Karman have better speakers for filling a room, check their website for help with their range specs that best suit
Hi! +nesholo1986 The point I make in the video is that they are very directional computer speakers not room or dance floor fillers - my iphone is loud enough for a 25m2 room but if I wanted to have a party I wouldn't use it.
+ROBERTS LONDON Thank for quick answer. I dont need them for party. They have fantastic design, so I want to connect them to my TV. Distance between my sofa bed and TV is 2,5-3m, so are they good enough for living room, for normal TV watching?
Sorry for my bad english first of all but can you connect them via the aux cabel (the cabel you plugged in youre phone and youre mac book) into your TV ? Should go or not ?
I bought the previous model & loved them. They expired without warning just after the warranty expired. They didn't support their own product in terms of repair. They didn't even offer a coupon for the next model. Harmon Kardon - never again! Thanks for the review.
hi roberts its possible conect the harman kardon 2.1 in my new IMAC now only have one conection minijack but its for the headphones. sorry for my inglish is very limited thanks
Thanks - I was so stuck in my set up and watched your review and setup, and BAMMMMM, it all fell into place, and I am set to go. Thank you so much!!!! I am subscribing immediately - thanks a lot!!
Thank you for your comprehensive review. Cheers!
Thanks! Glad you liked the video
Great review. Blue Tooth connections definitely worth the extra for me. This is still the best looking PC speaker on the market.
Thanks! Glad you liked the video
Good review ! finally someone found out that the satellites sounds very direct and you loose sound quality if they are not faced to you.
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked the video
Great review! Covered the necessary points with ample information and without bias.
HI! +Darkest Light Thanks! Glad you liked the review
Best review on these speakers. A real Mac guy who knows his stuff.

HI! +Robert Simmons They are great computer speakers
I'm looking forward to picking them up for my new desk setup!

I have the current model without the bluetooth, very good speakers!

The sound is great but they look really awesome.
El sonido tiene que ser Excelente.
smart test/ nice
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video
waiting new gadgets))
Good review..
Hi! +Nubias Thanks!
Hi! Is this suitable for TV?
i got the old wirless ones is it worth buying new ones
+Matty Jackson Only if you cant live without Bluetooth connectivity as otherwise they are the same
That is a great review!
Do you think that it is possible to run the sub without the satellite speakers?
I am using the harman kardon nova with my mac pro and I am wondering if it would be a nice idea to add a subwoofer.
Hi! +Thanos Mantafounis No the sub only works with the right satellite speaker connected which has the systems volume control
Thanks!
good review,ty. when they will make 5.1 (for gaming) ill consider buying a system. it looks better then any speaker i ever seen.
Hi! +cristi nel Thanks! glad you liked the review. I think gaming development is dominated by headsets. 5.1 with a real headset would be cool but its beyond most gamers set-up.

Whats the music that you played in 12:23
HI! +Prateek Mehta Its one of my own tracks from my music channel - check out the links to my other channels to listen to my music or soundcloud
+ROBERTS LONDON Pumping Pulse thumbs up :) nice tune loved it :)
good speakers. what is the song played at 12:00?
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked the video
Thank you for making this review, to all viewers, Make sure to buy from the Harman Kardon website, there are sellers on eBay but after a few months they stop working so they're counterfeit. Harman Kardon website is your safest bet.
HI! +Denise Milfort Thanks! I got my ones from Amazon, but Amazon themselfs not an Amazon Market place seller.
what about ebay top rated?
Question: is it viable to play first person shooters with wireless speakers?
It is viable but what you really want is some gaming headphones with a microphone and an itchy trigger finger - thats what I use to kill every last one every time
is there anything about good headphones that makes them "gaming" headphones? XD

+TeamBiird I really doubt that these 40 watt speakers shake the house
It's never about the watts, it's about the total package.
Yea that's true in terms of high end amplifiers like valave amps but not this
So the sound better wired, or with blutooth (wireless)???
same
Thank you for your obviously owner review(you sound like my Dad reviewing lol, I am not knocking you-you are reviewing like it is and quite frankly, I truly applaud your honest approach) Thank you for your very informative review but I think to be aesthetically pleasing in 2018 it is missing, dare I say RGB as it looks like belongs in the kitchen(BASE SPEAKER LOOKS LIKE A BLENDER :). could I just ask what that song is called playing around 12:30 pls?
Its my own from my music channel
Hi, are the soundsticks 3 better or the aura??
+Carl Shiu it depend what you plan to do with it - the soundsticks are computer speakers, the aura designed to fill a room
Hello Robert,
Thank you for the video:) im aware you have posted this videpo quiet some time. But alwys like this speakers, they are cool, great quality, and also, bluetooth. But I have a question a bit pertiment. I dont recall if you have tested.. But could you tell how is the bluetooh connection debtween devices? How many deviceit can pair at same time?
Thank you so much dude
Hi,
If the speakers are connected to my pc with the jack can I still use bluetooth and my iphone to play music or do i need to disconnect the jack from the pc first? Thanks
Hi! +TJ sports “opalman” channel No you do not need to disconnect the jack - they will play from both devices simotaniously
Will they work with a TV, either by cable or bluetooth?
Thanks for watching and joining the Pride celebrations
I have this exactly same speakers I want to ask if it's glass or plastic? Please let me know as soon as possible thanks
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video
Said Said plastic
Can they be used as home theatre ?? Instead of computer attachment . Or they are only meant for pc attachment ? I want a home theatre ,, do i prefer this ?
H&K make home cinema systems - the soundsticks are computer speakers
What is the name of the song at 14:34
Would these work for a turntable?
How long are the Cables from the satellites to the Sub?
2 metres
thanks mate
will they work with early 2009 iMac?
Thanks for watching & commenting!
Yo do these sound better than the Logitec Z632
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video
ROBERTS LONDON Do they
Logitech are trash, these are 100% better. YO///
Doge Thanks but is the bass room shaking because I have then and my ears were pounding and my room did not shake at all
did you mean the z623?i got one for years. you can shake your windows with that sub. no jokes. most of the time i turn the sub to 10% and 0 at night. about the speakers, they don't sound decent.
excellent.
Hi +Michael Schenker Thanks!
what is the size of the box? I wonder if I can put into my suitcase and bring back to my country.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video
Hello, let’s consider the Soundstick wired to my TV. If the TV is in sleep-mode, with its screen off, can I connect to the Soundstick via bluetooth (i.e. with my phone) and if yes, will the bluetooth be considered as primary even though the TV is still plugged?
Thanks, great video !
yes
What app are you using to play your music?????
soundcloud
Is the subwoofer supposed to go on the ground?
yeah but it it looks too cool to go on the floor
these or klipsch pro media 2.1?
or headphones?
what
does they havs good bass ??
HI! +MGR BEAST The bass is adjustable on the sub from off right up too Boom, Boom, Shake the room - so you can set it to suit your personal preference
+ROBERTS LONDON okay thanks
what is the name of the kables from the subwoofer to the satelites because i would like to make them longer
Thoose kables are called "cables" and you cant make them longer without really knowing what you are doing with electrics
Thank you! 😆
I know you recommended these for Laptops or phones, but I want to use these for my TV also. Is it possible to connect these to any smart TV (if so, what all auxiliary cables do I need?). I love this model and I want to use it any how.
+Nikhil Kummaragunta you can connect them to any device with bluetooth or a 3.5mm headphone socket - so if you can connect headphones to your tv you can connect these
Man, can i Connect them to a dvd player? Like panasonic or others?
what is the different between soundsticks III & soundsticks wireless? is the same product?
+moh maimun The wireless have bluetooth, the iii do not
Have you experienced any problems with the Bluetooth cutting out? Mine does this every time I pair my iPhone & have had to resort to solely using the 3.5mm headphone jack. Thank you
Thanks! Merry Christmas & Happy New year!
Are they heavy? Cause I don't really want the sticks to be super light.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video
Skyzmo they're about 400g each. They don't slide about because the feet are rubber
How can we reset this?
My blutooth is not connecting
I see the next version of this as having wireless speakers and maybe making the sub into a plasma ball. That would be sick...
Thanks for commenting! Glad you enjoyed the video
Thanks for the review my friend very useful. I have subbed and look forward to watching more of your videos. Its nice to see another TH-cam not far from me.. Have a great week.
HI! +Rich cove Thanks!
I suggest the Logitech x50 or x100 bluetooth speaker quite good for filling up a room :)
is ot only compatible with apple or can it be connected to any other phone/laptop?
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video
ROBERTS LONDON you did not answer my question!!
Is it Right That it is designed By Johny Ive?
***** Nice! I Buy some! Thank you!
+torbing07 yes, it was a collaboration so he didn't design it all.
Hallo. I have one question. Is this system loud enough for 20-25m2 room? Thanks
HI! +nesholo1986 They are desk top computer speakers - Harman Kardon make differently designed speakers for all other applications
Hi bro.. is this speaker active or passive ?? I mean does this speaker need seperate amp for connect to pc ??

which song is that at the end of this video ?
Hi! +MGR BEAST Its one I produced - links to my soundcloud are in the videos description.
I bought the previous model & loved them. They expired without warning just after the warranty expired. They didn't support their own product in terms of repair. They didn't even offer a coupon for the next model. Harmon Kardon - never again! Thanks for the review.
