As an Ex Army musician I will be villified by my former colleagues, but I have to say what a wonderful arrangement and performance of Howard Goodall's 'Lacrymosa - Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep', performed by Musn Christian Pethick and members of the Royal Marines Band Service, Easter 2021., great Soloists and Keyboardist. Kudos to you all. I am composing a Requiem and would love to hear your ensemble sing my The Lord is my Shepherd.
The beautiful scene of the cross overlooking the mountain scene at 2:28 is Pretty Place chapel at Camp Greenville on the border of North and South Carolina. I went there as a camper, as did my father and my son. The music is wonderful.
Absolutely lovely❤️. Read recently that “ You’re not truly dead, until you’re forgotten”. This fits so well with this piece. Thank you guys. Best from Cornwall.
This is an absolutely exquisite piece, beautifully performed. Thank you: I have been accompanying singers for thirty years, and had never come across it before. I have listened to it so many times that, had it been on vinyl, I would have worn out the record !
This has popped up on my feed today, feels very apt for HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. It would be nice if HM The Queen saw this; I think she would appreciate it. RIP to HRH, and well done all of you, and I thank you all very much for all you do, both militarily and musically, your music has helped me many times through the years. 💜
Lovely arrangement; well done all involved. As a former Bandie (1965-75) I am so chuffed that the Corps still promotes our Christian values of Easter (and Christmas) which many seem to want to delete from our history. Bravo!!!👏👏👏

- just, beautyful.- just emotion. - just a last word - on the last point. - Very good performance by all musicans, singers and on the piano!. - For me, very sensitive to the voice of Cpl Daniel Bennett.
Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep I am a thousand winds that blow I am the softly falling snow I am the gentle showers of rain I am the fields of ripening grain I am in the morning hush I am in the graceful rush, of far off birds In circling flight I am the Starshine of the night I am in every flower that blooms I am in still and empty rooms I am the child that yearns to sing I am in each lovely thing Do not stand at my grave and cry I am not there I did not die.
We read this poem at my mums funeral, Dec2020 (at her request). Hearing it renditioned this way has made me smile and cry simultaneously .
