  • Check Out Our SSIS Blog - blog.pragmaticworks.com/topic/... Loading a data warehouse can be a tricky task. A system that tracks history on some tables and keeps daily snapshots on others requires planning from the business and the developer. With all the requirements gathered it’s time to start building! Join us as we load type 1 and type 2 dimensions, fact tables and create a master package framework to control it all. We will explore the built in tools, like the slowly changing dimension wizard, then tell you all about why it should be avoided and show how to replace the functionality with much faster components. You will also learn how to handle special business scenarios, such as late arriving dimension members, in a variety of ways. After loading your warehouse come back and learn how to consume this data in SSAS.

While the picture quality was not great in places, this video was a great help for me on a project as a newbie to SSIS.

Thanks, you have put sincerely lot of hard work in this video. But, if the video quality was bit better it would have been good. Even in full screen I cannot see properly.

Great video. I didn't understand the part starting at 54:01 about case sensitivity, however. I will definitely watch this video again.

Nicely formed but video quality is very low. Are there any workaround can be done for it?

Hi, I am facing some issues, I am trying to load data available on SQL Server database which is connected to different servers and I want to copy incremental data from sql server and then save the same on mysql database using ssis using slowly changing dimension. but I am unable to do so. Please suggest if it is possible. also suggest how to do so?

OMG - I wasted half a day troubleshooting the inferred member issue. I followed this thing by recreating the code and steps using the code download from his blog post www.bradleyschacht.com/webinar-qa-ssis-design-patterns-for-loading-a-data-warehouse/ Not exacty all there (such as the large data set) but enough to follow along. You can get some of the specific code from his project file (and paste it into your own if you're following along like that). For the inferred member issue at the end, I put a trim() around the EmployeeNationalIDAlternateKey in the oledb source and lookup queries and the match finally worked properly.

The presenter's screen size is so small it makes the presentation almost useless.
