Thanks for another wonderful and informative guide! One thing I think could be very useful would be video guides/gameplay examples of turning bad starts into salvageable top 4 finishes. Not necessarily wins, but finishes that can net mmr (or minimize mmr loss at your rank). I've seen online discussions about the RNG high roll factor of the quest meta, and people will mention watching you for good examples of using skill to get good finishes on low rolls, but then I'll see people rebut with your youtube gameplay (since they don't watch livestreams), which is all high rolls, and dismiss the argument entirely. I think showing how to turn low roll games into top 4 finishes would be both very helpful for newer players and help remove some of the negative connotation of RNG in the game at large.
I love the idea! I mean i love to watch some of those crazy games with insane stats and all, but it would also be nice to watch some games where you really struggle and yet pull it off. Even better it would be to watch it with post comment, to know what exactly you had in mind, or why you made certain decisions over others. Something quite similar to what shadybunny does with some of your games, actually that's how i found you man xd Love the content, can't wait to see more! @JeefHS

Same I was average 6.5 stuck, saw this video and after 2 days I’m 7.5. I used to pick bad quests bc I saw potential in high roll. Makes way more sense to pick more consistent one

hey Jeef, can you explain on splitting scroll a bit more? is it mostly to force lumber, I got bad games picking this quest, it does not give enough tempo early on, and mid game I am not sure which 3+ spells to pick before I got my direction settled, so most times I dont get to the late game.

I was surprised that soul pact was f teir. My reasoning is that it is playable tempo early if you have a setup. Its playable with pirates murlocs, and its kinda broken with elementals if you can pick up some masters.

Ye but Even in perfect conditions With Golden master and Golden recycle its still just stats and not THAT many compared to something like a demon board
@@asgerrbergkristensen7410 yeah, I think while it technically gives tempo. It doesn't give enough to safety go 5. And while it does improve top end, it's not to the same level as other quests
Weird,been picking soul pact up more recently in Dragons,elementals and pirates,murlocs lobby
It's essentially a kalegos or rockrock that you get as a passive which will at least guarantee a top 4:/

@@xrexer8908I dont know, I think its elo based, at higher elo just dragon without bran or ele without free refresh is not gonna be top 4, not to say it cannot help u stabilize that fast so u can just level
@@yilongzhao3246 Agreed, Kalecgos is only strong when you can get golden bran or with Rylak + Drakkisath. It's not really just cycle throgh the battlecries, unless you are playing Gallywix
I agree the discover a minion of your tier so depends on what triggers it though as sometimes it's a minion every turn and sometimes it's just so bad so I'd put it in B just for how inconsistent triggering it is:)
I found most success with "Soul Pact" using dragons, late game when you have a "hunter of gatherers" on the field with a way to generate "smolderwings" the health pools rack up fast.
Kidnap sack also can steal tavern spells that cost 4 or more
Yeah it already gives value with telescope but it can be ridiculous to grab stuff like golden touch and sacred gift

I think this tier-list is accurate and maybe some other high level players can disagree on some points. Gift of the Golden Kobold gave me a first as C'thun, because it was an elemental lobby and said, ''I'll just roll into goldens and see what 6 drops I get'' and ended the game with two golden Rock Rocks, one which was golden'd by the quest, so I think A tier is pretty good for it.
Whats really disappointing with untamed sorcery, the quest are mostly useless with ANY tavern spell synergy minion
Moreover, its affect you negatively if you sitting tavern six

Yeah I got sinstone and didn't realize I was apm LOL. The amount of discovers was too much for me to finish my turn. Scout into sellemental is up to 6 actions on its own (buying the scout, selling 5 times). And not something you can avoid if your hand is full so I guess just dont do it if you're infinite anyways.
Thanks for your instructive videos. I just won an impossible battle here, thanks to some things I learned from you and your strategies. The situation was next, was facing Illidan. He had a perfect beast comp, had a golden Titus, two gold goldrinn, 1 golden chicken, 1 golden banana and two golden raptor. He had taken the mission of two copies for Golden. I was impossible to win, but I thought, what would Jeef do in this situation? And the following idea came to me.
Jeef would explore this idiot for choosing a garbage hero, so I took a Light Fighter, left as the only provoke on the table.
Like the power of the hero of always active combat before the beginning of the field minions, his wolf attacked my Light Fighter, who died and killed his chicken, the minions started without status, as the wolf didn't die because my provoke had a low life and attack, and my minions cleaned his board with Cleave. And I won with the probability of 99.97% chance of losing, thanks Jeef.

Ghastly Mask and Bloodsoaked Tombs were the only S Tier quests not to get hit with nerfs, so presumably they are the two strongest in the game now.
I got a first place with Boom Squad in exactly 1 lobby (8k rough rating). Just have to try to make it into a really fast lobby, win early, and only viable hero IMO is Onyxia/Greybough.

hi jeef, what about the quest to unlock a t7 minion?
i won 2 games with soul pact elementals yesterday so not sure what to think of that. They were both play 5 dual classes though. 1st was demons & ele's & i had 2 sellamentals lol

@JeefHS When you say 'finish a quest by turn x', do you mean the quest is completed AND you have that turn to spend gold? For example, if you say 'if you can finish this quest by turn 5', do you mean that the quest is completed AND you have that 7 gold to spend, or do you mean the quest should be completed by the end of that turn? Obviously it changes depending on if it's a combat quest or not, but my question still stands. Thanks for the video!!
I'm pretty sure he means to finish it that turn even if you have to spend all your gold. Sometimes he said "or early turn X", that's what I think he means to finish it at the start of the turn so having some gold left to spend
This is because some of these key turns he mentions (6, 7) are turns where you want to tier up if you can. If you can't finish the quest in the first 2 turns, you will have to stop to tier up, and then complete it and only then make use of the reward on the 4th turn after that. By that point the quest is either not impactful enough or you took too much damage and died already
by the end of the turn.
Ethereal evidence is mostly good bc you have such a high likelihood to get offered Pilfered Lamps at some point and can just go ham.

I would like a tier list of how hard the other side of quest is to complete. Gold spending, summons, battlecry and so on.

I did invigorating conch with feldrake, fluidity and my tavern was buffed with rylak fellemental and in 3 turns my whole board was over 6k
Yeah invigorating conch can be fun. For example I had a board of golden deep blue guys and I just popped their 'gain stats for this turn only' spells onto a tavern minion and bought it to make the stats permanent. But it definitely requires specific setups to be any good.
It's more reliable if you're playing Jandice since Fluidity is at tier 5
I've personally gotten a few treasure vault completion on turn 3 games and then it really is just the most broken quest reward
im started again playing battlegrounds i really waiting for video for noob players like me where you will show how casual bords should look like what to search and whats the strategy for that like

Wait, I think Boom Squad is super good. If you complete it 1 or 2 turns after you get it, you usually win your next 3-5 turns easy. That seems so important, right?

Untamed sorcery is A tier for me because I'm fairly new and the reward doesn't eat half my tavern time having to read stuff

For my turbulent i had to get 85 attack in a non dragon lobby
cooked book feels like F tier because the requirement is almost always way too slow
I get that Turbulent Tombs is broken in Beast lobbies, but how does it fair in non Beast lobbies? At that point its good with murlocs and maybe demons? It just feels hard to pick when beasts aren't in so it doesn't feel as top slot as Sinstone to me. But I am probably missing some deathrattle based comp or value
I believe it is evaluated as if the supporting tribes are in. So maybe in non beast lobbies it's worse. Still pretty good with undead

You're not missing:) He placed this quest in the A tier next to Trumbling Disaster tho.
Man I used to consider Wheel one of the best reward in the old quest meta but now it's nearly useless, buffing the tavern does nothing, shuffling the stats sometimes proves detrimental to the comp you're trying to achieve, pyrobuff is all over the place, the other three can give you some value but they're sooooo underwhelming compared to other rewards that can generate far more value in a single turn than waiting each turn, the only saving grace is probably darkmoon prizes that has a chance to turn the table

Feels like a lot of the B tier should be a C tier.
Prior to the reintroduction of Quests, BG was probably in both the best and most balanced state it was ever in. Now it’s a huge crapshoot. It’s no wonder it has utterly failed as a competitive game.
I don't think it was ever meant to be competitive in an event setting
Hearthstone is dying, they are way past caring about competitiveness. They just want to make the game replayable enough so people stick around. And to be fair, quests really help in making each game feel different than the last. And I don't think the core game is unbalanced at all, quests just allow for crazy highrolls. But it's not always the same highroll (so it's not 1 thing that is OP)

Jeef clearly misrated boom squad it's the most broken one out of all with the highest success rate
Maybe not at 18K MMR. You should see some of the boards Jeef pulls off with crazy strategies nobody else even attempts- when your biggest minion is in the high hundreds and thousands most games, a 10 damage ping is pretty inconsequential.

Has a tier 5 minion that gets +1/+1 whenever you get a gold; sells a minion that cost 2 or more gold, that minion doesn't get +2/+2 or more WOW NO WONDER MY PIRATE COMP IS SHIT
The text of the card is after you gain gold, get +1/+1,no matter how much gold you get , it still get +1/+1.
