- Kage, the Embodiment of Satsui, is now available in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition as the newest character to begin the next season! Kage, meaning “shadow” in Japanese, is the physical embodiment of the Satsui no Hado, an evil force rooted in humanity’s obsession with power.

i use to theorize that evil ryu from street fighter 4 was actually a young gouki and capcom was really telling us the story of gouki's past ,but uses ryu as a metaphorical/symbolic portrayal,my theory was that we were actually seeing the story of akuma but we are looking at the character as if he's an (evil) ryu.

I realized SF is the only one not trying to sell out with cross-over characters. But if they're ever planning to, they should officially add Asura from Asura's Wrath
Well they try guest character once already, which is Cole from Infamous in SFxTK. That count because he wasn't both from SF and TK. But since that game get massive negative feedback, people completely forgot that was one SF game that has guest character

@@antoniopedrocaykydonascime6213 Final Fight doesn't count because Final Fight take place in the same universe as Street Fighter. Final Fight is basically a prequel to Street Fighter series. I mean we get Cody and Guy way back before we have Abigail and now Lucia. The other franchise that also take place in Street Fighter universe is Rival Schools. For some reason they still doesn't add Batsu in Street Fighter yet despite the huge amount of request from fans.

They could do that because asura is owned by capcom and they already put other capcom game characters in street fighter like they did with a lot of final fight characters.

We know that Ryu actually managed to finally beat the Hadou in himself and manage to control the power of nothingness.
With that, Evil Ryu is not existing anymore, but Kage does.
Now i feel like Kage could be what Shadow Jago or Omen are to Jago. Jago beat the evil within him, but that Evil didn‘t vanish, it just manifested into a seperate entity.
I believe Kage is *NOT* Evil Ryu, but the Satsui no Hado escaped Ryu‘s body and manifested itself into Kage.

Well, yes. Just play story mode for kage and it tells you that.
Kage is the personification of the Satsui no Hado and the struggle within Ryu's mind. His Character Story takes place in a spiritual plane tapped into from the minds of Sagat, Ryu and Akuma. The story is actually the culmination and climax of Ryu's "Special Training" that was mentioned in "A Shadow Falls" General Story.
He's essentially a collection of feelings and thoughts given a form. In the end, Ryu suppressed the shadow, meaning Kage didn't possess Ryu and he isn't physical. He could only become corporeal via Neo Shadaloo science or Necalli.
Kage's manifestation is likely because (as Akuma mentions) Ryu decided to separate the demon from his soul. On the other hand, (according to Kage) Akuma is keeping Oni suppressed inside him which would explain the take over that instead happens in Akuma's what if scenario.
They should really do an Ansatsuken lore piece in the future. It's easily the pinnacle of strength in the series. Unless we get more info on the heaven Akuma mentions to Kage (power of nothingness?)

His hadoukens are imperfect
His tatsu is sloppy
His normals have no focus on protection
But they all feel insanely powerful on hit
Even his version of the raging demon is imperfect. While he hits the many pressure points as Akuma does - he doesn't uses palm strikes, he slugs you with punches and elbow strikes. He isn't about form, he just wants to cause as much damage as possible - making you gush blood.
He is power and rage in its purest, unhinged form.
Evil ryu is ryu but more corrupted, kage is ryu fully corrupted.

So after reading, this isn't exactly Evil Ryu in the flesh, rather it is the physical entity that took his own form that turns Ryu into Evil Ryu.....kinda like Buddy Love separated from Sherman Klump in Nutty Professor II
Evil Ryu will always be number 1 in my book. My favorite SF character.
Also the satsui no hado is stated to be outerversal in the comics of street fighter and it's canon also It takes a lot of research

I don't believe so, because Cage is out of Ryu's body. Oni is the full possession of Akuma. The Satsui no hado is inside Akuma, Ryu resisted and rejected the dark hado, Akuma will not.

Its Evil Ryu, yall need to stop this foolishness. Calling him by a different name doesnt matter to us, its stating thats his somewhat "True" form. Every time Ryu went "Evil" he wasnt really called Evil Ryu by his people other than Akuma or Bison, this is now giving that Hado a name for itself so others recognize that it was a different existence besides ryu's own, its nothing special. He never went "evil" he was always controlled or possessed by the Satsui No Hado, how are you guys realizing this now?
Plus Kage taking the form of an oni is how those who succumb to the Satsui no Hado end up as demons.

The design is great, but I will miss the ring on his chest/back from SF4. I think that was one of the more iconic aspects of his design but I might be splitting hairs here
