I kinda wish they did what kirby did with their boss rushes and add an extra (non cannon) fight against the final boss in some ultimate form.
There are still some other updates... maybe next one will have it!
Good idea Ex bosses and soul version of the Final Boss would work perfectly for Sonic. Surprised no one asked Kishimoto about this idea.

I saw ALOT of people asking for this video, but honestly it doesn't feel that different from my normal videos. They should have called it Overtime mode. :D
Some of the biggest changes I saw through Extreme mode was:
- All of Big's items cost a ton (150 for a key and 50 for one collectable - this makes Ouranos alot more time consuming)
- Cyberspace times are really tight, some of them are down to the second
You don't get an extra medal on the title screen when beating Extreme, was hoping for something.
Also had my best Knight and The End runs probably ever in this video. Knight sort of broke a little. Lol
THEY INCREASED THE TOKEN PRICES FOR ALL THE DIFFICULTIES.

Only things I kinda wished that changed with the bosses are: Giganto Is faster when he attacks, he shoots those things that come out of his back. For Wyvern, it takes 3 missles to stop him so you can fight him, and then for Knight, when his shield keeps bouncing off the walls its faster (it can also kill you) And Knights attacks are faster, and for Supreme he has those fighting skills from that Supreme video where he had his unused QTE's other than that extreme mode is amazing!

Well time to fuckup on Blue Spears multiple times before getting one super emerald
Currently trying to beat the whole game on extreme without parry. Miniboss fights don't feel any harder and i might be forced to parry the hounds in ouranos if i get caught or just accept death. Also the knight is another worry. Only beat kronos so far and giganto without parry is one difficult fight. Also nice vid. I hear that kishimoto and the dev team is still tweaking extreme mode and the parry already has been confirmed to be getting some kind of change sometime during the wave drops and kishimoto said that wave 2 was gonna have a lot of substantial changes i believe?

Bad news, Wyvern without parry is explicitly impossible.
xD I loved that intro when sonic got slapped it looked like it did not even phase him
I've heard people complain that "the ending is the same, it should've been different" when in fact the ending was always the same there was just an extra boss fight on hard and extreme difficulty.
Honestly this update alone has me incredibly hyped for the other updates especially the third one. I've never been this hyped about a Sonic game before
I liked extreme difficulity a lot but things I want to keep it balanced but still challenging at the same time:
super sonic doesn't lose in one hit but he does lose rings from attacks like base sonic, base sonic still gets one hit, guardians and titans are more powerful and more faster, all moves from the skill tree drains rings when used or put an energy bar which can only be recharged when doing normal combos or getting rings, the energy bar gets drained with each move, with max energy you can activate the phantom rush, cyloop doesn't bring items, the titans can only be damaged with moves but not normal combos and the reward of completing extreme mode is super sonic in free roam, also forgot super sonic would have a bigger energy bar and it will be called chaos energy bar in super form.
edit: extreme mode should also have a new song credits replace one way dream like how vandalize got replaced.
I’d love to see a new credits song for Extreme but of course, time constraints because budget and licensing, of course! But who knows what’ll actually happen in the next two updates?

Idk but I think this works on Neo metal sonic in sonic heroes more because I think the end is more of like beerus due to his job to destroy planets and stars like beerus.

This honestly seems like what happens if Sega took "Lv1 critical mode" from a Kingdom Hearts game and tried to implement it into a Sonic game....
Not that I have a problem with it, I welcome the challenge.
I suppose extreme is for those that weren't satisfied with the overall game difficulty. I'm on Chaos myself but because I'd done a level 1 attack and defense run before, I'm not having as much difficulty as things go aside from the more aggressive enemies and insta-death.
Level 1 rings aren't an issue but without the dropdash's upgraded speed and increased air boost distance, in having to think a lot more when platforming. As there's no last minute saves for the most part.
Combat wise I'm just using the parry more when crowded and learning how to throw out the specials quickly to maximize damage. Really enjoying everything so far and the power boost in cyberspace is an absolute joy, as well as necessary for a lot of the new times.
It’s so weird how Super Sonic doesn’t react at all to getting hit and the screen just fades to black. They literally had a getting hit animation they could use.
I hope for the second update they add in Giganto’s cut attack, and maybe give us a small glimpse at what the Final boss may be like if they decide to change it that is. Or are able to with the time they have

Boss rush let me down. It wasn't what I expected. I was expecting a mode where you fought the titans straight, and not having to go through a bunch of guardians. Not to mention that I did everything Rank S, since I'm lvl Max of everything. And there is no Undefeatable, break through it all and find your flame on the map :(
I wish they included just the bosses as an option as well.

Yeah, i think i'll pass on this difficulty! Way TOO Brutal for my tastes! And 1 hit K.O., Not my thing. I think I'd rather stick to the other difficulties thank you.

Yes and no. It's very odd since some attacks will cause you to lose instantly while others just push you back. It's abit random.
Probably the worst attack is the lasers on Gigante, they will end you instantly and can tricky to dodge.
@@sonicovertime I wouldn't really say odd per se but I think what it is. Scripted attacks won't kill you because they're supposed to happen (gigantos hand clap into bite supreme hitting you to pull out his gun ect) but if one of their normal attacks hit you then yeah you're dead
@@sonicovertime Those lasers have been the bane of my existence. I’ve died twice after I beat Giganto, just because a laser decided that now was the time to hit me, so that’s great fun 😆
Basically if the attack causes the standard Super Sonic knockback animation to play out, it kills you. Giganto's clap doesn't trigger said animation, so it doesn't kill you.
I assume the coding is something like "if (knockback), then (game-over)" Simple, but effective.

Okay okay soo.. I haven't exactly tried to unlock Extreme mode, but I gotta know. What happens when you die in Extreme mode? Do you get sent back to the beginning of the game?
You still retry from the checkpoint just like the other difficulties. What Extreme mode does change, however, is that all enemies KO you in one hit (even if you have rings), and you can't increase any of your stats. There's also some other non-battle related changes too.

Well doing the special moves help alot Boost then A in the air is the safest and does a ton of damage.

Yes for the most part, some attacks is instant death some aren't

Trick if you save the Super blast for a hard part, you are invincible for a second or two
@@sonicovertime what i do is press both light and dark blast and when one color coming to me i let go of the opposite color :3
I found it easy, as it seems like whichever color you are you destroy the same color shots on contact basically. Takes getting use to is all.

So there's really no reward for beating extreme difficulty? Thats disappointing. Wasn't expecting much, but maybe a costume.
Thats what I didn't like about the Titan fights, they were too easy.
Honestly Extreme mode looks like a disappoint overall. It's cool that it's a harder challenge, but it hasn't resolved issues I saw with the fights prior and currently and making it to where you can't allow yourself to be hit seems like a bandaid fix on a flesh wound, a real punch in the face. For these bosses and what this video displayed well was they weren't capable of countering your combos or getting out of it which could've made the fights more fun nor did some of their 'special effects' matter most of, if not all of the time. Giganto's back lasers rarely hit, Wyvern's laser rings are just for show and do virutally nothing other than maybe obstruct your view of its missiles and Knight just does a light show in a cutscene and never uses them ever again. Supreme is and always will be the biggest offender of all this since it had potential that went completely wasted and could've easily been the 2nd or the hardest boss in the game.
What also sucks is with this update, all the mods that improved the gameplay were broken since the mods folder that stored them could no longer be used in the same file location. Not sure even where to use it now. These mods funny enough actually did a better job at making these fights either more dynamic, fun, and skillful than Sega could and made better use of what the titans were or could be capable of or even both, especially Supreme who had unused assets that were awesome and yet now we don't have access to those.
To say that i hate this update entirely would be incorrect, it added some nice features to the game, I'm just disappointed with the bosses and how them being pushovers makes extreme mode look and feel like a waste of time, not even worth it.
I believe i heard the developers say Update 1 are small changes overall, Update 2 and 3 are where they start giving what the fans whant, maybe even balancing the game finally.
We should've had Extreme Mode from the friggin' beginning.

Just finished extreme mode but mistakenly deleted that save file 🥲.I ain't doing it again in like a decade but the update as a whole was good especially the re fighting bosses and Juke box mode, love the small improvements too. 💯👌
Dang that sucks!! But agreed very good quality of life improvements which makes the game definitely more enjoyable!

@@sonicovertime I didn't necessarily delete my save but overwritten my OG save file on the extreme mode file 😅. Just take my word for it,I did genuinely finish the game on extreme.I did also finish all the cyberspace challenges and got the power boost and finished the battle rush mode and got all the music notes 😁. Good work Kishimoto, awesome first update 💯.
