Dude you have one of the best setting for a video I've ever seen. Your own music, your personality, the humor and the topics. The fact that it's about Monster Hunter is icing on the cake. Please give us more.
I play every weapon including lance, the weakest is probably hunting horn cause I'm Solo player. Lance is probably something I mainly use for Deviljho cause I can slam it and KO with counter with 100 percent chance[you can guard or dodge with gun lance and do one shell as well] Lance something I recommend new player to use so they won't die often until I see them using it.... sheathing weapon back and run to a monster or run off and get killed. basically I told them to use whatever they want now.
I would like a Lance guide, the ones I looked up on TH-cam before weren't what I was looking for, probably because the people talking about it are no Lance mains so I would love to finally understand everything about this weapon I always wanted to pick up from someone who knows what he's talking about because of experience.
@@bananacheese6864 I already did, I learned a lot about the weapon and I already made two sets I really enjoy but in my past I often experienced that when I discover a new weapon in MH I tend to miss out on some of the cool stuff only to finding it out later via the internet on accident. For example (and I'm not proud of what I'm about to write) my favorite weapon is gs but it actually took me until kushala daora to find out that you can time the charge attacks right in order to get maximum damage, I always thought I should just hold it until it releases on it's own... Embarrassing but also funny to think back to. Edit: Of course that was when I first started to play the game and I never played another mh game before, I'm no longer that oblivious :D Edit of the edit: I forgot to thank you, so: Thank you!
@@GPismymom watch some speedruns with that weapon and then you can probably piece together a strategy or two that's how I learned most of the new Lance clutch claw attacks and such
@@bananacheese6864 you are not wrong, thank you for the tip, I should watch more speedruns but I always get the feeling that some moves on some weapons are just not good enough for a runner to ever use (gs for example has a few that are rarely used at all) but I still would like to know all of my options, when I watch a speedrun I can only see the optimal way of doing it (or at least a close resemblance) so it often happens that one move in particular will be spammed whenever it is possible (the Hammer ledgehop for example) when I know more about the weapon overall I will definitely watch some speedruns to find out what the best damage combos are and how to time critical monster attacks right but I think if I do that now it would hurt more than it would help because it would hinder me from learning about every possibility I have in every given moment and instead would reduce me to the few core moves speedruner use for maximum damage potential and that's not what I'm looking for, at least for now. (One of the sets I'm using right now is a sleep bomber set so you can probably tell that I'm often times not looking for best damage but for fun, not that one necessarily needs to exclude the other but I'm just not that type of player, most of the time) again, thank you for your tip, I really appreciate it!
I think an underrated part of lance, and the part that really gets overlooked, in my opinion, is how rhythmic fights become with it. At any given moment, you know exactly what to do poke, counter, charge, shield dash, hop, etc. It all plays out like beats with you attacking, repositioning, and reacting to attacks non-stop the whole fight, and it is so rewarding because if you can nail down this rhythm with a monster, you really will rarely get hit. As a lance main, I appreciate you spreading the good word about this weapon and I really hope people give it a shot because it can be so satisfying to just cleanly obliterate monsters with it.
I agree with you fam. I had a really rough time finding a team to fight AT Nergigante, so I decided to fight him myself. Took me a while to learn all of his start up animations but after I did it really just turned the fight into a rhythm game. Don't get me wrong tho. Even with max level gear AT Nergigante was a pain in the ass but became manageable with some persistence
This probably wasn't the desired effect, but I'm now going to start maining Lance in 4U also your tutorial song was straight fire, don't you dare apologize for that banger

"Not falling must mean you're damn strong" -My Hero Academia, said to Kaminari. The most satisfying moments I've had maining Lance have been when a super-agressive monster is harrying a teammate, it turns to me, and I block or counter a half-dozen attacks in a row while getting stabs in. Lately that's been against Zinogre and Barioth, but it's an amazing feeling when you pull it off without giving an inch while everyone heals up. And when you're doing solo fights, it's almost Zen getting in the habit of poking and blocking. EDIT: Also, SUPER into you doing a guide! Always looking for improvements to my techinque, and I still am struggling with the new (incredibly fun) Clutch Claw stuff.
My most satisfying moments playing lance usually involved a monster that charges a lot and mounting it off a charge of my own. Especially Tigrex, nothing like stopping a freight train with a pointy stick.
@@Pluveus Tigrex, Nargacuga and Velkhana (maybe some others I might be forgetting) have been the most fun to play using Lance. Ruiner Nergi was pathethically easy though, but the Tempered one is a bit more fun.

A lance guide would be sweet! I feel like a lot of current guides already cover the main stuff pretty well though. It would be cool if you could go into more detail about the nuances of the weapon, like how to use the guard advance well (guard advancing backwards is super useful!), when not to Super Guard, when not to abuse the Clutch Counter, things like that.
Lance was a fav in 4u, and was a fav in base world, and man, Iceborne is everything I've ever wanted for it. (Except, more damage plz maybe.) The fact that its clutch counter can tenderize monsters without getting knocked off makes it easy for everyone to get the most damage off their weapons. Not to mention Offensive Guard being able to easily activate especially when you can activate it when the monster roars

Shubham Ranjan Mandal same buddy. The only things I think he missed. Are power guard gets built in guard up as well as guard 3-5 I think. Clutch counter gets rocksteady effect from all attacks but I haven’t experienced a roar knocking me off yet. As well as the “softening” animation is much faster than other weapons but it does yeet you away from the part you just softened. And will specifically target the monster part used to hit you. Honestly there are more but you should just look up a guide at that point.
Lance is a bit specific with the decorations to use, but other than that it is potentially the strongest weapon in the game, in the fact it allows you to simply block 98% of all the attacks in the game, and that you can keep fighting rather than moving away to heal or dodge. You'll need to keep in mind to overcome the weapon's weaknesses: blights(to remove them you need to unsheathe, which takes really long, or to side-step a lot), sharpening(it eats a lot of sharpness), healing(from chip damage you take on guarding, or if you fail to block) and lastly the few moves you can't block (Lunastra's burn on the Nova, Ancient Leshen's crow-nova and Behemoth's ecliptic meteor. Dude your channel is a hidden gem, content is bloody amazing and well done. You deserve more subs 😭
Yay!
New video
That intro is a pretty good representation of anxiety
For this kind of videos is why I always wait for your vids hahaha you are awesome man keep the great work 🔥🔥
I'm sold. On Lance and your channel. Subbed.
That pokemon dpp bgm during the end of the video, I see you. Instant nostalgia
Great Quality video as always man, keep it up!
Been thinking recently of picking up lance in world, haven't played it since Tri. This convinced me to finally do it :)
Thank you for this video! I’ve been wanting to switch off of lance for some time now but after seeing what you can do with it. It makes me want to use it more! You have earned a sub.
Lance is fun I think I enjoy it as much as I do because if playing charge blade the counter guards and everything feel very similar to guard points. It’s my go to “I really don’t wanna die in this quest” weapon when even my defensively orientated builds for other weapons fail.
I'm using Lance now because of this video. It's actually fun to use. Thanks, Hern... still want to play with you someday.
A lance guide would be fantastic. I never thought about how different monsters would need different levels of guard. Seeing in depth lance stuff like that would be super interesting, especially in your video style
You convinced me to start using the lance, now I see myself using it more often than the GS,LS,LBG, and Hammer lol.
I've been playing Lance on the base game but I haven't tried it yet in IB. I should really start now I guess. Thank you Herny!
I've been lance main since the first MH on the PS2. Ain't gotta sell me on that. Loving the clutch counter so much.
Okay but that song was fire tho.
You just earned a subscriber from the void.
Good vid. Thanks for promoting lance my love.
