IELTS Listening Practice Map labelling band 9 strategy

In this video recorded at Ross IELTS Academy, we learn together the strategy to answer easily Map Questions in the IELTS Listening Test.
In section two of the IELTS Listening test, you always hear a monologue and you'll be answering 10 questions.
You will face different question types in this section, like: Multiple Choice, Filling the gap, Table, and map.
Today, we're focusing on the Map, and it can be a layout of a farm, a library, a museum or a shopping mall, among others.
So, obviously, to answer this question type properly, you need to know the 4 directions:
North/ South/ East/ West
Besides, you should understand the direction the speaker gives you, like:
Go straight
Go straight ahead
Go along …
Keep going
Turn left/right
Head left/right
Take the first left/right
Turn/ go back
Cross …
Go past …
and also the common language related to locations, like:
Opposite
across [from]
along / off
on the right/ left
on the right/left side
on the corner
at the top/bottom
in the middle / at the center
close to / near / in the vicinity of
adjacent to / next to / beside
etc.

The "Opposite to Printing Services on the right" got me good. It could mean: Look to the north of Printing services and then a bit to the left. It could also mean: Look to the east of the Printing services. A person, like me, who's creative part of their brain is dominent, would naturally look at the north opposite side of the Printing Services (because it is labelled horizontally). This is what I don't like about standardized tests.. they favor logical people.
