In the Caribbean, at least in my country we use the yellow maize meal to make something like ugali but we call it fungi (fungy) and cornmeal porridge. Nothing in the world that is edible holds more heat. Try cutting just a few okras into small pieces and cook them in the water which you’ll cook the ugali in. It gives it a different texture that you’d probably like.
Allow me to humbly correct u BC😊😊 We say little water not small. That thing you are seated on is a kitchen stool not a bench. Bench ni kama Ile Iko Kwa congrats mum.😊😊 We learn everyday.
We call the small fish sardines, but they come in a tin can and they are soaked in water. They aren't fresh like the salt sardine fish you have. It's good to see JMarinde and Eliz visiting. And thank God for Khiz_ke he helps out with the cooking.

Yes in Trinidad we call it coo coo. And yes we do add okra and it’s cooked in coconut milk. Served with fish and callaloo. Yummy 😋
Thank you ❤️ ♥️

That fish is most likely indigenous to Africa, hence the Kenya name will be the proper name in Kenya.
