And here I find myself on the edge of my seat waiting to see witch one it is as it comes closer even though you can already tell by the clagg or the jumper cable etc... Years ago people were nostalgic about steamers but people now can be just as nostalgic now about a time like this, many years ago now, when stations had that atmosphere that you just dont get anymore as they are just too 'clean' I guess. And this was also a time when the 'train' was still pulled by locos as opposed to today where nearly every sodding thing you see is DMU with its over the top aerodynamics and its soulless character. There was stuff to look for back then. I recently took a trip back to old haunt only for it to dawn on me that times have changed. A lot. Thank god though to all these guys that captured what they did on video or still cameras:):)

I did a few all liners back then! I remeber doing the sleeper from the west country to Glasgow/Edinbourgh with a 47/6 as they were then failing somwhere before the licky and a 37 rescued the train with a pair of 31's backing us up the Licky! The noise was awsum! Somthing like load 14 and a dead 47! Jumped off at New St and it was 37285!

Excellent video, great locations during your all line rover. Exeter St Davids used to be a great place to see 33s/ 37s/ 47s/ and 50s. Motherwell was also a great place to visit, unfortunately I only took photo's there in 1986/87. Thanks for posting this, it bought back some great memories, it's a like, and I have subbed, cheers...Bill
