Glad your trip was able to give you some perspective and think about things. Chicago seems big enough that you could find some in person stuff that hopefully works for you
I would guess that most Booktubers post less content during the summer months simply because they are outside more and just have other things going on. But it's my first summer as a Booktuber, so what do I know? LOL! Anyway, enjoy!
Wait, you mean you CAN'T see me?! That explains why you weren't laughing when I was doing the thing. In all seriousness, I've been ruminating on this same topic. I don't plan to leave but would like to find more in-person bookish connections. I'm very lucky to have my writing group, but that's once a month at best. And like you, I'm not that interested in changing what I read to suit a group. I wish you luck in your search!
I’m heartened that you are ruminating on this same topic. I love booktube, but the word “balance” has come up a couple times and I feel the balance isn’t optimal. Do tell if you have thoughts to share. 🙂👍
You are fortunate to live in an area where there are actually bookish community options. Chicago is probably a wealthy of possibilities even if your preferences aren’t as prevalent.
It makes good sense to reassess what we’re doing here. I’m glad that the NY trip was such a rejuvenating one for you.
Fair enough - good luck mulling these things over! It’s amazing just how much time spends on TH-cam when one is embedded (partially) in a “community”.

I hope you find the balance you are looking for and do what you find rewarding.
“Balance” is exactly the right word!
It sounds like a healthy shift of focus. I'll look forward to seeing you when you have time. I may eventually take a summer break myself.
Thank you. I’m not really sure what I’ll be up to - maybe I’ll try to keep poetry at hand.

I have always _read_ a lot less in summer as opposed to winter so I think you may be onto something!
Sounds like changes are coming. I hope you find something that works as a great balance for you!
Thank you. Trying to find the balance is it - and my present book _(Braiding Sweetgrass)_ reminds me, balance is not static but always shifting. 🙂

I hope you find a fulfilling balance.
Yes, balance.

I’m sure you are right! I’ve found a couple of possibilities, probably not quite right, but they exist! 🙂
