Hang in there guys. I am remodeling my 89 Fleetwood Class A Coach too. It's been a slow project as I'm doing it by myself. I drove it for 15 years then decided the Ford gas motor wasn't cutting it. So I repowered it. (450 HP 5.9L Cummins 12 valve ) Then of course that required a different transmision. (AT 542 at first) Then while I had the rear end apart I decided to add a limited slip to stop getting stuck in those grass campgrounds that turn to mush after an overnight shower. It went from 6 MPG to 9 MPG on the stock diesel and 4 speed slushbox transmission. So after the world transmissions because available in the wrecking yards I bought one of those,( Allison 1000 5 speeds with overdrive and lockup torque converter ) rebuilt it and built a stand alone computer, because the 89 Cummins wasn't computerized. Should up the mileage from 9 mpg to 13 mg. ( If I can keep my foot out of it!!)) Will get that installed soon. And then I started to do an iinterior remodel. That has taken 10 years and I'm still not done. Health issues has put this project on the back burner many times.(Wife and I have both fought Cancer (me 2017, her 2018) and I shattered both feet and broke both legs in 2019) But, I'm back at it and enjoying your updates before heading to the shop to work on my Big Bus. Don, back backs are a working mans curse. Mine gives me fits too. (broke it in 1975) A few hours laying flat on the floor and a few muscle relaxers and it pops back in place. I am finilizing the security camera installs (NOW!) , then replace the walls and trim. Then the joys of paint, followed by a new floor. Then a really nice wrap on the outside and we are going to hit the road. You're a lucky guy having a wife & partner who is as excited as your are and willing to put her sweat into the project too. Gonna look good! And it's a good thing your drivetrain is up to the task. Keep posting the updates. I am enjoying them. Oh and had to rebuild my refrigerator last week as the Texas Blackouts back in Feburary killed it.
Great solution for the floor, came out great. Handy tip for using a router to flush trim things: use another tool to remove the majority of the material first. A router bit is not meant for large amounts of stock removal, so ensuring that the amount of material to be trimmed is minimal and not more than half the diameter of the bit will give much better results.
Lolz... watching a video celebrating 10k subscribers, uploaded just days earlier, and you're already 30% higher. :D You're a great and captivating couple. The build is looking awesome. Looking forward to future videos.
The floor looks great and in a good color. You both work so well together on this bus. Keep up the good work and it will look good in the end and then you can rest and enjoy going places.
Well done on your 10k mark. Big step back for you having to redo the floors but you have now put this behind you and will not have to worry about this in the future. I have purchased a bus and planning to do a conversion I thank you for sharing your build with us. Currently away in our caravan with a Big Rig Clan in Western Australia for Easter up early watching this video. Happy Easter
Both of you have done such a great job even with the floor re-do. The bus will look great when you're done. I could not do even some of the work you are doing. I came across this video and I just sbuscribed.
That flooring Debacle would have sent me into Orbit ! I really hate redoing work a second time ! Usually something like this would require a few weeks away from the peoject while i cool off.
I watch U guys putting this together and it makes Me want to do the same ... Enjoying your work... Just wait until it's done U guys are gonna be Happy 😂
9:20 the "glitter" is actually for if a flooring rep comes out for a warranty claim. The glitter will show up under a black light, if it's not the right color or doesn't show up at all they will say you used the wrong glue and void your warranty.
stainless isnt magnetic , could glue in a few neodenium magnets thoug that should hold up fine as long as the screens arent too heavy maibe the glitter in the glue are micro sferes (little glass bals they usually put intoo epoxy resin to make it thick as peanutbutter to use as a filler )
I love the way u show the real hard time u face not all good n easy it was thing, people should know the real thing.bless u both n take care ,get harniya meshed by doctor
@@Rehabit8 Sidenote, I have suffered with sciatic L4 problems for 25 years. I have found that on days when I am working and straining my lower back about an hour in the hot tub does wonders. It still hurts but I can walk the next day standing upright and not hunched over.
Oof. Back problems.... I know those. I'm actually going in for fusion of L3-L4-L5 in two weeks... And in the middle of my own bus demo that will get put on hold until I'm sufficiently recovered. Take care of your back while you can!
Congrats on 10k! Just a heads up if you plan to use magnetic covers for the skylights (you mentioned stainless steel trim), most stainless steel is not magnetic.
Not sure the condition mechanically your bus is in but Bus Grease Monkey (youtube) supposedly does real good work on Buses. He has a program that saves people a lot of money on repairs. One way, he does all the work and the second is you do the work at his direction using his tools. By you doing the work cuts the cost I believe in half. Not sure where you're at but he's in Tenn and people bring their bus to him from miles away. If interested you might go to his TH-cam program and take a look, Bus Grease Monkey........
Think of it this way the views you'll get from the "What not to do" video when your done will get watched as much as the rest of them :P we learn by mistakes so don't kick yourselves.
Ugh, ceilings and floors. Why can’t they be chest level😂 were saving ours till the end😅. I’m curious about the gluing, did someone (manufacture) recommend gluing your vinyl planks down that way? We will be gluing ours (rollin_homies) as well but I think I’m going to remove the foam underlayment first.
Hi Shelia, The planks were coming apart and we were afraid that we would constantly be trying to fix them. After consulting with the manufacturer the suggested we install on hard surface and glue them down. Lesson learned the hard way
Just one question: Where will you put the lavatory, wc unit, shower, clean, black, gray waters pipes and plumbing? You covered everwhere w/o any hole and/or passage way for discharging.. Bytheway, I admire your passion..
Hi Engin, we will run all plumbing later on but have a plan. If you missed our original plan you can check it out here th-cam.com/video/NKYAQTyBAd8/w-d-xo.html

I'm proud of you for commiting to doing it right. That's a huge amount of work to get back to zero. Good call though. It'll pay dividends.

We joke every so often about forgetting about towing our jeep and towing a hot tub instead 🤣

Yes we called the manufacturer. For a house they recommend floating installation but in a moving vehicle they recommended the glue down.
Missed something, why exactly are you redoing, relaying, the floors?

Don't sweep inside your bus. The confined space traps the dust and you breathe it in. Vacuum only.
