If your parents are like me, you have been told, ‘Beta, get a job after graduation and be loyal to one company until you retire.’ And the only financial advice you got from them is how to write a check.
With this golden knowledge, at the age of 21, I became a Software Engineer, at an I.T company that was paying me peanuts. Money was bad, salary hike was almost zero, work was pathetic and my growth was stagnant. Every month my salary would barely survive the end of the month.
But a girl needs money. To study further, to travel, to buy a house, to save for emergency, to save for retirement. But most importantly, I needed money because I wanted to make my own life decisions. All of us worry about gender equality, but that will come only after we first become financially independent. And a 9 to 7 job is not going to get you that independence.
And yet, I am the only one in the family who got a house before I turned 25. And for that you don’t have to work for 10 hours every day. You have to make smart financial decisions.
And trust me, this is something that every girl should know. It not only helps your career, but it also changes the dynamics of any relationship that you are in. Be it mother, wife, daughter. Because you will not be considered a ‘dependent’ anymore.
So girls, no matter if you are 20, 30 or 40, by the end of this video, I will tell you how even if you have low income, more responsibilities, debt, taxes, you can still start investing now. Because it’s not about how much money you earn. It’s about what you do with it.

This was just a casual comment! Because the percentage of girls talking about finance is less when compared to men. There are also bunch of male youtubers who talk about beauty and fashion Jeffreestar.. Wayne..etc.
Gender wise percentage definitely varies...Now, this doesn’t mean they have less brain or they are less professionals! Loving makeup or fashion is not at all related to gender, been independent or smart, or education! Its your personal choice!!! If you love, do it or leave it!! Chill guys!!

Invest 1000 to improve your skills that you love to improve.Get a good mentor or tutor and pay him 1000 to teach you the skills required to improve your passion or use online courses (bit cheaper).First focus on skill development,money will come to you ultimately.Then start investing.
PPF is a great option and you don't have to pay tax when it is matured !!!

That was pretty unique and a great advice.. Glad to stay until the end. As a finance student , I can vouch for the things you said is pretty apt and useful. Don't get tied down to such things at such an early age and yea to see someone not from a commerce background explain Assets and Liabilities in a clear and simple way so a layman can understand it's just great coz probably even though I might be knowing more technical terms, I might not be able to explain it all that well to people at large. Fashion has its place, just like cooking videos, home decor, music, language learning, and all the other types of videos. I don't see why people are assuming a video about investing is putting down all the videos about fashion. She's simply sharing information on a different topic.

At almost 24 I'm still going through my master study and doing a low paying part time job and being from a state with poor economy doesn't help either. But this did something to my panic attack. Calming and refreshing to hear. Last think I'd want is spend my 9 to 5 making rich some guy while it'll only make a slave out of me.
To be honest, my dream was the same, get a good paying job, save up enough and get a loan to buy a house for my mom. This video has truly helped.
