Awesome to hear the monetizing is fixed. I moved from Newport Beach Harbor where I had my boats stored. Once I got up to Oregon I had anxiety from being so far from the ocean the sunny weather and all the cool boats. On average I try to spend at least 100 days a year on the water. It’s been years now since the move and I still miss cruising the harbor and taking trips to Catalina Island and all the great coves to anchor up. Your channel filled the void and helps me relax. Plus I keep up on some nice boats too. 👍🏻 Thanks for all the great videos! Keep going!!
As I got older every boat got bigger and bigger and bigger, maintenance and gas a pain even though I can afford it I felt like a dummy. I wasn't having fun boating anymore. I realized I needed to get more of a feel for the water. I got rid of my viking, bought a ford f250 and a 210 montauk. I'm now having fun again us going to inland lakes and large inland lakes in other states. I'm having alot of fun again.
When you're in a 39 footer does it really matter hahaha. But I know what you mean, that sea boss could have benefited from some trim. get the bow in the air and have a dry ride lol.
trim tabs were not working at the time, I had just received the boat a few days before that. I just got her rigged for fishing along with a bunch of different upgrades!
I really wished people would wait to ride the bow until out at anchor or something, especially since they insist on not wearing PFD. I'd just hate to see a fun outing turn into a devastating event...

@@vmonroig21 Defiantly true. If you want to stay out of the water you buy a boat. On a PWC the fun part can be testing the limits and see how far you get thrown. Especially back in the nighties back before these PWCS became huge vessels.

Good point.. The rental fleet PWCs are usually the base model Naturally aspirated models from the manufactures. Plus the rental places around my area restrict you where you can ride and is super boring yet still expensive..
Another great vid. From an educational standpoint, what can we learn from that Sea Ray (at :42) and the other one that slapped hard? Too fast, not fast enough? Not enough LOA? I would assume too slow and you take green water over the bow, too fast and really beat things up... What's the best way for a boat that size to safely and more comfortably get through seas like these (I suppose "stay in the harbor" is a good option I saw a couple of folks take but, if it can be done safely, what would that look like? Thanks
I don't know much about boats but them two boston whalers and that sea boss i think it was took it better than most all the big boats or maybe it was just the drivers.

I don't know maybe it's me . But the speed into and out of this inlet seems a little excessive to me . You have boats with multiple outboards with no apparent lack of horse power / torque and they are moving . A good skipper who knows his boat doesn't have to rely on speed over power . Just my humble opinion .
DIY Tutorials And More definitely a someday goal of mine. Can’t beat the ride..only knock is they’re set up for hardcore fishing but I’m not complaining!
it is a narrow channel that leads to a large bay, during tide changes all the water rushes out, it is not always rough, there needs to be a heavy onshore wind or incoming swell to make it rough, most of the time it is calm and compared to some of the more crazy bar crossings and inlets around the world, it is not very rough at all.. There is a lot of traffic here which makes it interesting..

I'm from socal been in WA. for 7 years, the fishing is way better there even California's central coat has better fishing the smallest king salmon I've caught down there was 23#, way more species to fish for year round plus the offshore fishing can be epic. This place is a joke I live on an island in the Puget sound and fish a ton and it's a lot of fishing for 1 fish the short shotgun seasons for bottom fish, 1 little ling cod for 45 days per year lol. Charters are crazy expensive they want 250.00 to 600.00 to fish bottom fish. You can jump on a party boat in California for 65-75.00 and catch all the rockfish you want plus a shot at halibut, white seabass, and yellowtail. I literally have close to 50k in boat and gear and I question every day why I spent so much money. You have to be retired or take the whole summer off and be willing to tow the boat all over the damn place up here to get on the fish. I've never burnt so much fuel fishing then up here. When I can I will sell my house and property and relocate to a state with more fishing opportunity or just get out of fishing all together like a lot of people are doing here. Plus the state still lets commercials long line, gillnet and siene in a relatively small area. I used to work on a longline boat when I was going to school it's very destructive.

Yes, it doesn't give me the quick creative control I like, has stabilization issues and imho, it looks too much like a cheap camcorder...I took some of the wildlife and ambiance shots I like to include in the videos and were not up to my standard... and I think I'm giving up on Canon all together, the EOS R and 5D MKIV both crop at 4k.. and the nest step up is a C300... so that ain't happening anytime soon. I'm going to test a Sony A7III next since I have a buddy with one he will let me try out for free.
@@ZipZapPower Oh sorry it didn't work out. The A7iii is a great camera but limited to 4k @ 30 fps which honestly is good enough for what you are doing. 60p isn't a necessity I feel. I see the new video "20 boats" is 4k @ 60. I'm guessing you filmed that one with the xf400?

I'll never forget ripping out our drogue towing a 60' trawler across a 12 foot breaking bar at Hatteras - he (the trawler) nearly broached and we got pulled backwards through a breaker (wish we had go pro's back then - it was def youtube worthy)
