Super relatable, Ben. The mental grind is fierce. The constant weighing, timing & food selection. There is definitely a stress and pressure one feels. Not too mention, being constantly sped up, as you referenced. The opposing actions of trying to build/maintain tissue while cutting calories is unlike any other endeavor I can think of. I'm glad you've landed in this spot. Keep crushing the gym and content 👊🏻
I have so many thoughts: 1. I wonder how much of what you described (many of which sound like ADHD symptoms) are fuelled by an under-glucosed prep brain? I experience this but I have never heard someone else describe it in a bodybuilding context. 2. Do you think some of that "need" to be consuming/doing, is essentially a need for distraction for the inherent suffering of prep?
