Fun fact: the reason Buggy calls himself the "genius jester" is because he's actually very smart but doesn't show it. In the anime/manga, when he's introduced, he made a bomb called the Buggy Ball, which was so powerful that it blew up a whole town. That's how he took over Orange Town. I think it'd be safe to assume he's the one who made those smoke bombs that put people to sleep.
A bit I love in this episode is when Garp is interrogating Koby. When he asks. "This Straw Hat Pirate, do you owe him any allegiance?" and Koby answers, "He's a Pirate. Pirates should face justice." Garp's clear grin recognising the non-answer Koby gave. Koby did not say he did not owe Luffy any allegiance. He made two true statements that only implied as such.
You indeed missed the part where Shanks arm got chopped off, but it is really easy to miss. There is a moment where the entire screen fills with the lunge of the sea monster. In regards to not being able to swim, it is explained in the flashback early on: people who have eaten a devil fruit lose the ability to swim. It saps their energy much like kryptonite would be an utter counter to Superman, and it is why these individuals are referred to as 'hammers' or 'anchors'. As for feeling the feels: be proud of feeling them! You'll be feeling a fair bunch more of them while embarking on the One Piece journey, and in the live action the second-half especially has quite a few strong moments of those.
I did see that (when the sea beast lunged at them), I just didn't think that that was 'it' because I didn't see the beast thrashing or even gulping, not to mention Shanks didn't even react. I honestly have my suspicions, but obviously don't tell me anything. I wanted to say something about Shanks after he confronted the beast, and I was starting to say it, but when I saw that he lost his arm I was so shocked that I lost my train of thought. As for the seawater, I guess I made it more complicated in my head. I was thinking more along the lines of "rubber + seawater = brittle." haha I didn't realize that all Devil Fruit eaters get affected by seawater, including Buggy, even thought I did remember the bartender saying "Mother Ocean turns her back on you."
Originally I didn't plan on watching the live action one piece even though it was supposed to be 'decent' despite any reputation since anime/animation is just my medium of choice and any live adaptation from that doesn't fit my fancy. BUT what got me into watching opla was the cast interactions on netflix adverts! They're so cool and awesome and wholesome! They're like their own version of the strawhats so I didn't mind watching the live action just for the wholesome cast. I would seriously watch them even if they're just hanging around the set. It's what's been missing in the manga/anime most times........ the crew just hanging out together sailing and doing shenanigans.
Thank you, man. I wasn't completely serious because obviously I can't help it. My laugh sometimes sounds squeaky and I imagine it might annoy some people. haha
The thing about losing powers from water is that any STILL body of water knee high and above is gonna weaken them and put them unable to use their powers, but moving water like rain does not effect them.
As other people have mentioned, seawater weakens Devil Fruit users (as mentioned in last episode when the green-haired bartender told young Luffy "Mother Ocean turns her back on you and the sea can take away your strength"). This also proves that Shanks has _not_ eaten a Devil Fruit, since he was able to pull Luffy out of the water during the sea monster attack. What kind of abilities he has, and where they come from, shall remain a mystery for now.

Just laugh if you wanna laugh. It's not weird. There's sooooo many one piece characters who have weirder laughs that most of them become iconic. Like, really really weird funny laughs. You could probably look it up, one piece laughs compilations, there's tons of content just for one piece laughs i kid you not 😂 On a side note, imo the most annoying laugh in the anime is: KISHISHISHISHISHI!!!!! And my favorite laugh is : YOHOHOHOHOHO!!! Most emotional laugh: DERESHISHISHISHISHI!!!
17:05 - At first I thought he was just playing along with the woke nonsense, but he genuinely didn't realize that Koby is being portrayed by a female actress? You couldn't even tell in Evil Dead? Her name was originally Morgana Davies, but she changed it to "Morgan" when she started playing the "I'm pretending to be a man" game. One of the reasons she feels a bit "off" in the role. (Although she does a good job.)
You mean me? Haha Sorry man, I'm just new to these characters. "Buggy" is a common word anyway, as in "my phone is buggy," so I'm used to saying it correctly. "Luffy" (loo-fy) is something I've encountered only in One Piece, so sometimes I mispronounce it. Don't worry because I'm going to keep trying! 😅

I hadn't cried for years until I started watching One Piece. That story brought me to tears 3 times, but it also made me smile 300 times.
