Well he was lovable in earlier seasons too. He's the one who took Justin in when he was homeless in s1 and saved his life in s2. He helped Jess get through her trauma, all the while buying her Teddy Bears and bunking school with her and joking about random things like how he doesn't see Bryce walking into a sex shop or how they'll go to hell if they joke about certain stuff. His s1 moments were adorable "It's love, it's not logic" "a giant bleeding man, or squid, or man-squid, in spring" "But your dad wears a uniform" lmao
I will never get over the fact that they didn’t make Alex and Zach a couple, and instead gave Zach a stupid unresolved storyline. It’s just like when Marvel randomly made Hulk and Black Widow a thing
