your car radio is for E53, not for E39, that is why it doesn't fit well. I had the same issue. The E39 one is a bit thiner around to be able to slide in perfectly.
Yeah, thanks. I realised afterwards that there were some manufacturers that did a different model for each, rather than a 'generic' one to fit both. It worked well, but would have been nice to have realised before I ordered. There were SO MANY OF THEM! I was getting dizzy 😂
Hello, i use basically the same radio but in the E46, i also have the Carplay Icon on the Homescreen, but when i start it, it says Loading and then i am on the Homescreen again, phone is plugged in did you have to install any other software to get it running?
The PS3 was already connected in the boot, to the rear seats. I didn’t connect it to the front in the end, but you have a couple of av connectors on the Erisin for external input, so that is what I would have connected. I had the car for 20 years, but no longer have it, so I can’t really show you now.
Here is a link to a part of the install. Sorry, I didn’t film the entire install 🤦 th-cam.com/video/CY-9u4vT0mU/w-d-xo.html

Hi, no, I didn't have to install any other software
I don't know why that might be. Perhaps you could run an Android update on the head unit? And on your phone too.
Can you show how you connected the ps3 please?
