      It's a cool dragon fruit variety created by Edgar Valdivia. Make sure you have another pollen source to cross pollinate this variety. Thanks for watching.

    Do you have an illustrative video of how to hybridize dragon fruit?

      If they mother is self sterile, it's pretty easy. Self fertile varieties require some extra steps to avoid self pollenation. We can make a video on it this summer.

    How fast is the growth rate of tricia, and have you noticed if the plant is more tolerant of cold and wet winters when it's used as a grafting stock? If the waxy coating is the main factor in its hardiness, it may not provide any advantages over other stocks if normal scions are grafted to them. But if it's less prone to root or stem rot, it could still be worth grafting with.

      I haven't grafted with it yet but will try one of the bottom cuttings in a few weeks. I've used El Grullo (Hylocereus ocamponis) to graft a Yellow Palora seedling and it's starting to take off. It's a very hardy root stalk, much like Tricia. Tricia is extremely hardy and won't rot like other varieties (American Beauty). I'll try it out and make a video about it in the future.

    Tricia cutting are they hard to get?

      I don't know... I am spoiled and visited farms nearby for these cuttings. I paid 8 bucks for one and the other was a gift for the channel :) I'd assume it's "rare" because I had a few people message me for cuttings today after posting this video. It's a beautiful flower and hardy variety. I have not tasted the fruit yet. Thanks for watching.

      Hi, Sorry, I am more of a collector. It's hare to find growers that ship internationally. Good luck and thanks for watching.

    u cant use tricias pollen to diff.dragon fruit flowers???

    • @RAREDRAGONFRUIT
      @RAREDRAGONFRUIT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not for it's own flowers, but it's an excellent pollen source for other varieties in my opinion. I used this fresh pollen on my LaVerne Pink and it produced the best fruit of the season in my opinion.
