    Fantastic series, Loz. I made a list of all strongman competitors that have made WSM Finals. Badenhorst, Girard, Pfister, Ostlund, Bergmanis and Karlsen would be great additions to this series. Have them all update their Wikipedia pages as they are outdated!

    Hi Loz,
    Phenomenal video! Terry is a true inspiration and perfect example of how age is complete bullshit and that as long as you train well and look after yourself then anything is possible! He looks great for 41! Also, I loved how honest and candid the video was, especially when you both spoke about the mental side and what your experiences were when competing, training and with injuries.
    Massive thank you Loz. I'm really enjoying the talking Strongman videos.
    Cheers,
    Billy

    I love that you and Tel have such a friendly relationship after all the years of competition, I never liked all the pining against each other back in the WSM broadcasts. Men can compete against other men and both do their best, have a winner and loser, shake hands and then grab a pint. Boys can't. We've seen enough of that the last year. These interviews are absolutely awesome Loz, criminally under-viewed channel.

  • @joel5956
    @joel5956 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I'm with Terry on watching these record attempts even once full competitions happen again. Most strongman shows don't get streamed anyway. I bet there are a few of the top lifters each year who qualify for the big shows early and wouldn't mind maxing out.

So much passion, humility and enthusiasm and it shows on the screen. I don't train in strongman or anything but learned a lot that can translate over to the gym and life in general. Mr. Shahlaei, the fact that you can get the best Strongmen in the world on your podcast is a testament to the respect your peers have for you. I just watched your interview with Zydrunas...the G.O.A.T! In the States that is equivalent to getting Tom Brady or Mike Trout on your show! Epic.

    Enjoyed the story of the group if you getting drunk, and then having to compete the next day😄. I reckon alcohol and strongman don't mix so we'll. Perhaps that's why Samson was forbidden to drink wine and strong drink.

    My name is not Trudy, it is Scott Stilt. I am just using my wife's phone because my flip phone doesn't have internet. I work construction, and flip phones don't break on me while working. I agree with you guys about how there are limits to how much one needs to weigh. I found this true for myself. When I lost weight a few years back, I lost lots of power. So I gained the weight back, and my power came back. However, I found that as I later tried to gain even more weight that the returns in strength we're much more meager than I thought they might be. In fact it became more negative because my movements became a lot less fluid. I felt tight as a drum because of too much subcutaneous water retention. The muscles can only hold so much, and the rest just spills out under the skin everywhere. When you have to have your wife tie your shoes for you it becomes negative to athletic performance. So I learned how much the cut back on and found the "sweet spot for me". Everyone needs to find there own "sweet spot" with their weight.

    Dam you all make it all so interesting I liked this a lot I wonder if get Mark Felix as he was one of the first black men competitors and see what his thoughts were. When Brian and Eddie were with Iron Bibby and then Eddie and Brian had arm size show down I think Eddie was around 21 to 22 inch arms Brian was around or near to 26 inch arms. Then brain said but Iron Bibby's arms were 28 inch that ended the contest. I remember Capes against Kaz. I wondered if they hated each other as was always between them two. That would be interesting to know.

    Two of the 3 British legends of strongman in my opinion. Mark Felix being the 3rd. I have watched strongman since I was 13 or so and have loved it since. Always been an avid gym goer, used to pull and push a heavy loaded van, tyre flips and some farmers walk but recently I tried some atlas stones, log press and the yolk. Some of the most enjoyable training I've ever done. That was at The Strong Room on IOW. Definitely worth a visit for anyone holidaying on the island. Would love a 1on1 training session in person Loz. Need help improving my deadlift. How much does flexibility play a part in deadlift? Always struggled with tight hamstrings, calves and glutes can't touch my toes with straight legs for s##t! Any advice would be hugely appreciated.
