Just found out about your channel few days ago. And what to say? I'm having a blast, watching your HC-journey. Long time Diablo 2-4 and PoE1 player here. But I never was brave enough to go HC in any of these games. Stay strong and bold! 💪Cheers from Germany!
I honestly thought you were going to pull this out until that last salvo. I struggled on this boss for a few deaths until I realized I hadn't slotted the Cold Resist Runes I had been saving just for it. After that, it was easier, but TBF, I was playing minions, so much easier than your hard-mode warrior build. Still, great first attempt, and fun to watch!
Thx for watching! Glad you are enjoying the series. I am working on releasing more videos per week. I am about 2 weeks behind my in game progress. And great tip. Stacking cold resist is huge for the Count 👍
That was a good first try, keep it up! As I've seen from the skilltree, 2 handed maces are all about aftershocks, stuns mainly. I think the main thing for 2 handed builds are a lot of armor+passive life regen. Its just my experience with warrior. It's perfectly fine to use just a few but realible skills on POE2. The slow "Rolling slam" 2nd strike damages 50% more for heavily stunned enemies, i think the devs intended people to use that as damage dealer for stunned enemies. It's really hard to actually graps what the devs wanted because there are so many playstyles. You did everything right, it was just pretty new to you. Act 1 boss is a pretty hard boss because you are missing a lot of skills which could make you pretty decent. P.S. There will be another set of weapons soon available, Axes. Skill tree already supports axes but they are not yet in the drop table, they have seperate 20+ skills to choose from in the future. I think that will be about dual wielding and bleed+fire damage.
wow you have come far for the first time on this boss... Many struggle by this boss !! you have done very well for a first time WITHOUT cold resist!!. next time, equip a simple coral ring wich some cold resist and that will be a huge difference :) you have analysed this well!!
@@deucehammer Glad to hear and I am very Impress you play really good I died every boss hahaha I can't be in hardcore mode, but when I made different class I starting not to die much because I know now some of the boss movement 🤣
@@deucehammer I just finish the rest of this video sorry to see that you died on the final boss on act 1. I did not finish right away because I am playing this game a lot hehehe
35 years old and did the same mistakes of forgetting the stuff during the campaign and I'm proud of it. The weapon that you did slam a chaos was the answer to the best weapon : Why ---> +1 to all skills & it had accuracy rating (No missing melee hits) Also : +1 to skills in poe can give a decent amount of dps boost in numbers of 5-10-15-20k depending on the synergy on the skill. Also nice try on that boss seriously that was impressive 💜
Yeah I know. I felt so dumb leaving that scene in, but I wanted to capture the raw footage with bad mistakes. I think that rare mace would have hit harder than the blue.
@@deucehammer The best thing in poe is that we learn everytime. That's the joy of hardcore though its a mental push not to give up. Just take each new life as a fresh knew experience with new knowledges and that each step forward is progression :D
I keep missing the streams >.< The curse of living in a different timezone! Really enjoy watching this though. Picking up the game blind and go straight to HC is pretty wild, makes for some tense moments for sure.
I’ve actually been off stream due to the holidays. Planning to stream tonight, Sunday and Monday evening though and then get back to the normal schedule after new years.
i think upgrading the original magic/blue forgemaul you had to a rare would have been a good idea imo! the 65% physical base was an amazing start. ty for the video
Yes! I thought the same thing after editing. At the time, I thought it would potentially re roll the +phys dmg. Again, failing to read that it adds a modifier 🤦♂️
Instead of rolling the dice on a rare chaos orb, try to get the most important stats like phys dmg and attack speed sorted first. If the item doesn't have those (or whatever you are going for), dump it and grab the next one that drops. You can transmute and augment a lot more often than you can chaos.
just went through two hardcore characters, now on third. first two were warrior & monk, to experience the melee bullshit. Haven’t gotten past through act 1 yet. warrior died on devourer, caught off guard by HAVING TO INTERACT WITH MECHANICS and not being to be able hit and run, thus losing dps. 2nd monk was going well, really enjoyed quarter staff skills, and was S h o o k when glacial cascade lets you move like a spell. All the forced melee movement on skill is way too cringe, but it seems to be an intentional design decision in melee skills. Which gets utterly blown the fuck out by melee bullshit. He died on draven ONE SHOT LMAO! Now on witch trying out minion tanking Going through the available classes to check out the early game build possibility/potentials. Not looking at any guide builds to stay mostly pure & ignorant.
Bro try stacking chaos damage with contagion and essence drain. I am having a lot of success with that in act 1. Tbd if it scales well later on though 👍
this is gunna sound rude but i dont mean it in that way at all. I admire you doing this, I'm also playing HC and if i was warrior going in blind ngl id kys. but good on you brother when Ziz starts doing his Gauntlet events for PoE2 were gunna be way ahead of the curve. GL also dont be stubborn about swapping out of warrior, especially for HC any other class is going to be 100x times better
also press Escape to pause the game > respawn at checkpoint > pause again. (the game will unpause after you hit respawn but you can still die. i found that out the hard way. you can just pause the game again after and youll be fine tho)
Man that boss fight hurt to watch, just not attacking at all for a solid minute lol. Gotta attack man. Just running in circles doing no damage and draining your flask is what killed you.
you have to be more aggressive against that final boss. He's standing still with a lot of his abilities but you put your totems to random spots instead of on top of him. Also why not put a totem down when you stun him. Easy passive dmg. No worries tho. I died like 10 times against him with a monk.
Life, armor and maces are about the most undertuned and unfun parts of the game right now. It adds something to the entertainment value of this challenge though. At this rate you wont make it out of act two before a patch makes it a lot easier I reckon. Unless you switch class first that is.
I am not reading or watching build guides so not 100% on lightning arrow. But I think I built something similar as I went all in on lightning and shock ailment and up to around 60% evasion. Fun build for sure 👍
You did a good job, I do recommend not to do hardcore mode. This game has tons of difficult bosses, you will die it’s guaranteed. I also play warrior, fun class.
Loving this series, keep it coming please
Hell yeah! Im excited for the next few. Shit gets real.
That public service announcement lol.

I admire the resilience.. I could never go blind on hardcore.. 👍👍
You really tried your best. Cold resistance and alpha damage is so so important with this boss. Im sure you will get him next time.
Thx! Yeah offense seems to be the best defense. Quicker the fight is the better.
Hard focus cold resist, if you can get it into the 60% range it makes a world of difference.
"Where is the life" yeah, we're all wondering lmao
Also, good attempt. It's not an easy boos!

Good first attempt! I farmed the manor a bit before I killed him the first time, you can get support gems fairly easily there.
Good idea 👍

I got to level 45 on my first hardcore fresh adventure, and then I got one shot to poison harpoon boss in act 3
Ouch! 45 on first hc is pretty good! Good luck on your next run 👍
