As someone who vastly prefers Milliput for how and what I sculpt, this hybrid has been a great bridge to Greenstuff and opened up opportunities I struggled to get with just Greenstuff alone. It’s ✨✨magic✨✨
I've heard of this strange magic, mixing Milliput & Green Stuff, sorcery I say! I never liked green stuff for it's sticky and rubbery qualities but now I've seen the comparison in practice WOW! A really good demo video, inspirational, thank you.
Milliput and Green Stuff are both great, but to be honest I've had the best results by combining either one with Apoxie Sculpt. The mixture shapes beautifully, it's strong as a rock, and if you use Milliput instead of Green Stuff to mix with the Apoxie Sculpt you get a higher melting point. Green Stuff has a melting point of only 70 degrees Celsius. If you use milliput in the mixture, or Apoxie Sculpt by itself you can use it to strengthen or repair armatures for polymer clay sculpts. The combination pretty much triples the versatility.
😳 what!? I've only work with polymer clay, and i'm about to try this combination on a figure i'm customizing, but only because i don't want to bake a toy and cause articulations failure. So you can combine apoxy sculpt and milliput and use it in damaged polymer clay figures safe to bake?
I recently found a video , concerned repairing statues, that mixed two part yellow millput . Placed the mix inn a small lid adding a few drops of alcohol. This thins the millput as desired by using paintbrush and applied the epoxy with the brush to repair cracks and adding small detail.
I've always been a solo green stuff user, but recently I've been trying out this mix in order to up my game. This video is perfect and you're an amazing sculptor. I've subbed and look forward to more. 🤟🤟
Great idea, I had pondered if the two could be mixed, but, thought......'knowing my luck'🤔😲😲🤭🤭🤕😇 Does the Greenput take drilling well, like Milliput? Thanks in advance 👍✌️😊💜
I've used Green Stuff a fair bit and at 8:35 I'm actually getting stressed out watching it stick and stretch. I know just how uncooperative it can be. I'm looking forward to trying out the hybrid.
milliput made up road from me in Wales...I like it but would prefer if it wasnt water based as gets sticky if you dont watch out,I like greenstuff for armour weld beads and zimmerit milliput needs to set a while so its less tacky to hands
How long does green-putt takes to fully cure? I'm watching all your videos about this new stuff to me for a project i'm on. Can i use this blend in a Hasbro marvel figure?
Put of curiosity, how do you keep the green put fron sticking to your fingers when mixing. I had the hardest time, my first time. I got my fingers wet and then I turned into mud. I know it's something im doing wrong.
Good question! I dampen a rag with water and keep it off to the side. Wipe your fingers and hands lightly before and during mixing of the epoxy to keep it from sticking to your fingers. This helps keep your hands clean, AND keeps particulates from your hands entering the epoxy
Once again, awesome content. I've only discovered your channel a few weeks back but the density of information in each video is just "WOW"! I have a few questions on this particular topic though if you dont mind: 1- Do you use the "fine" or "regular" Milliput product? Does it even make a difference if it's mixed with greenstuff? 2- Do you let it cure a bit before you get to work with the greenput? I've tried this morning right after it was mixed and it felt like it was "disolving" on me... like a sandy texture would come out when i tried to blend it it. Thanks and keep the content coming! very helpful!!! :)
Thanks! 1- regular. Never used fine, so I dunno 2- Depends what im sculpting, but yes. Make sure to watch the rest of the tutorials to learn more on that.
I used to use this technique all the time when I had some Milliput laying around, but now I'm wondering if the Superfine Milliput would work with this, or if it'd make for a worse medium.
I have just entered the world of customising action figures and I have bought milliput and procreate putty, do you think this would be the same of I mixed those 2 together?
I have never found mixing the two together to work at all. They always end up adopting the crumbly characteristic and the decreased adhesion to the mini of the milliput. Even when I use a far greater ration of green stuff to milliput (75/25) it still turns out this way. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong but I’ve gone back to using only green stuff unless I’m trying to fill some type of internal gap that won’t be visible when the mini is finished. Also curious what type of oil you use for your tools?
Hey! Discovered your channel some days ago, its great! I´ve already worked a little bit with greenstuff and a little little bit with miliput, but nothing fancy so far. My project right now is building a necromantic horror blood bowl team, but since i dont like the official models i got me some age of sigmar zombies, ghuls and banshees (as wraith proxies) and 3d printed some werwolves and fleshgolems. Ordered some colour shaper because next step will be sculpting football outfits - jerseys, shorts, some kneepads, helmets and so on. Super excited about that, i am eager to learn some sculptingt! Watching some of your videos i already feel a little bit better prepaired and ready for the challenge. I think i will sign up to your patreon. Two quick questions, what about the curing time of the greenstuff/miliput hybrid, is it comparable to greenstuff and does it also have stages? And i got only miliput superfine white, the regular was sold out everywhere when i bought it. Is this a problem, or can i more ore less handle it like the standard miliput?
Hello! Never tried super fine, so I can't say. Green Put hybrid cures in about the same time as regular green, but has differences outlined in this video. If you do join, make sure to check out all the greenstuff cure stuff videos!
thanks for the great demonstrations! I was curious if you have any experience mixing aves apoxie sculpt with greenstuff instead of miliput? Curious if you have a preference between the two? I have not done a ton of sculpting with either mix but in my limited experience found in general it behaves very similarly but was easier to smooth (and had a longer period of time where you could smooth it with existing material) when mixing in apoxie sculpt over miliput. thanks again
Useful. But I don’t agree that Milliput is inferior - it just depends what you want to use it for. If you are assuming space marines, maybe. But for many more organic applications, Milliput is superior. Also it responds well using water to smooth or separate, instead of messing with oil.
Mate, what an INCREDIBLE channel you have! Be sure to make lots of fun, bright and interesting thumbnails so this youtube algorythm pushes your content out to everyone!!!
yep, mineral oil instead of water makes a huge difference for this. I guess it's because water softens milliput so much, making the hybrid end up like a mix of sticky greenstuff with something yogurt like 🙃

Yeah, it's pretty awesome!
I've use milliput for a couple years and just bought my first batch of green stuff, I'm glad I found this video!
Thank you so much for the hint of mixing Miliput and Green Stuff.... a great hack for having the best of both worlds ;)
never thought of blending Milliput and Green Stuff. I'm going to give it a go.

This video is perfect! Love how you quickly cover the +/- of both and then how the mix of is more versatile, with examples to compare. Cheers!
This has been really informative man, thank you.
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
I was aware of the Mix and I use it alot, but I never used it for sculpting cloth and the like. Will definetly keep that in mind!
this is fantastic man. Getting my self some milliput to try this out

This video is beyond helpful
probleme of noob used milliput , is hard sculptig !
Awesome video, absolute game changer for me! Now visiting eBay to get some Milliput! Thanks man!
I just happen to have both. I'm going to have to try this.
I like both for different things but i had never tried mixing the two before
I love this. Thanks for the tip!
I've always been a solo green stuff user, but recently I've been trying out this mix in order to up my game.
This video is perfect and you're an amazing sculptor. I've subbed and look forward to more. 🤟🤟
Thanks so much!
I prefer green stuff to fill gaps and miliput for sculpting stuff on models or when I want very smooth gaps.
Any kind of milliput or a certain kind? ie white and blue, yellow and blue, etc
yellow. In the white and red box
hello, how do you read or dose the milliput? because me, the standard I have trouble, it is too soft, the fine is even impossible
i just use 50/50/. try mixing more gray into it than yellow
alright, ill try both
Great idea, I had pondered if the two could be mixed, but, thought......'knowing my luck'🤔😲😲🤭🤭🤕😇
Does the Greenput take drilling well, like Milliput? Thanks in advance 👍✌️😊💜
Could you do a video on how to do the greenstuff/cloth bit above the tabard ?
I have a couple cloth sculpting videos here on the channel already- and the rest on patreon!
Thanks!
So what are some applications you can think of where I wouldn't want to use a hybrid mix, beyond the small flexible like the epaulette rope details?
The under armor segments for joint armor on space marines tend to be easier with greenstuff, as I'll explain in a future video.
Thanks for this guide, I'm going to try it out and see how it goes, I found milliput to crumble quite easily, perhaps something to do with my ratios?
Milliput is naturally crumbly. Keep it wet like clay, or add greenstuff.
@@lastlightcreative6537 ah, my issue may be how much water I've been using. Thanks man
The only milliput that is available near me is the superfine white variety. Does this still mix will with greenstuff?
What ratio would you advise for both? 50/50?
Can i disasemble a figure in hot water that's been modified with green stuff and milliputt?
Don't know! Depends where the green stuff is on the mini. It will likely loose it's bond to the host surface
I've used Green Stuff a fair bit and at 8:35 I'm actually getting stressed out watching it stick and stretch. I know just how uncooperative it can be.
I'm looking forward to trying out the hybrid.
It works! I love it, can't believe I haven't been using milliput and greenput all this time!
You need 10 million subscribers!
Thanks!!
I didn't catch it in the video but what version of Milliput are you using?
Could you do the same "hybrid" method with Aves Apoxie Sculpt and ProCreate?
Are you using yellow Milliput for the combining?
Yes
milliput made up road from me in Wales...I like it but would prefer if it wasnt water based as gets sticky if you dont watch out,I like greenstuff for armour weld beads and zimmerit milliput needs to set a while so its less tacky to hands
What type of oil do you use on your tools to make it not stick?
How long does green-putt takes to fully cure? I'm watching all your videos about this new stuff to me for a project i'm on. Can i use this blend in a Hasbro marvel figure?
Depends on your ratio- Usually about 2 hours. You could use this on any fixed structure, provided you prep the area correctly
nice video george

Awesommmme
How long do you recommend waiting before starting to sculpt with greenputt?
Depends what you are sculpting!

mineral oil
Awesome video, I'm just getting started and this is really helpful! Question, do you have any links to the tools you use? Thanks!
Yep! Here on the channel!
Smooths out?
Sorry what?
Is one product or the combination better for filling gaps in a model that has multiple pieces like a large dragon or monster?
Use black miliput. Tutorial to come on the Patreon.

Why would you ever use pure GS or miliput if the mix is so great?
