In case you didn’t know, I’m someone who goes to this park once or twice a year. I’ve been going since I was 6, now 20 and I’ve only seen flash open once. It is notorious for being closed ( wind conditions mostly)
What day did you go? Looks like not that many people. Kids & I planning to go soon but don't know what's a good day to go and which tickets to get. Thinking going on a Sunday.
@explorationthemeparks awesome. Planning to go on a Sunday, so hopefully it's not too bad. What ticket should I get that make sense based on wait times? I was thinking getting Platinum. Thank u again for your response.
In my opinion, maybe purchase a general admission ticket (unless you plan on going multiple days), and see what the lines are like while you’re at the park. Then you can decide if you want to purchase the Fast Pass.
Hi there, I’m not sure what tickets you are looking at. I’ve only been to the park once, and it was this summer on a Saturday, so the flash pass definitely helped me.
Park started in Redwood City across the Bay, as Marine World, then became Marine World Africa USA, then moved to Vallejo still known as Marine World Africa USA. Then Six Flags Marine World, then finally Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. They chose Vallejo when they moved partially because they still had water access for all the water ski shows they used to do. It used to be known for those, the killer whale show, dolphin show, sea lion show, big cat show, bird show, etc. Adding all the coasters and other rides over the years changed the whole atmosphere of the place from animal park to amusement park. It's the closest park to me, and I'd like to visit again and maybe try Medusa and the Joker, though I'm pretty afraid of the first drop on Medusa. I rode Roar back in the day before it became the Joker, and also rode the Boomerang and Vertical Velocity. I'm afraid of Kong because I keep hearing how rough it is.
It's because of the company CEO, he's eliminated a LOT of job positions company wide causing a staffing shortage. Basically there's not enough maintenance workers to get all the rides inspected before opening. Instead of hiring and training new employees there just forcing the work on what employees we have left. It's a company wide issue as I understand it and it's making people pretty unhappy. We're all hoping the CEO gets the boot.

I kept calling Sidewinder Safari, Sierra Sidewinder. I guess it’s because I’m used to Sierra Sidewinder at Knott’s Berry Farm 😂

I went on a Saturday. It wasn’t too crowded in morning, but started to get crowded as the day went on.

This park is notorious for opening the major coasters at like 12:30 or 1
It just doesn’t make sense, but also makes sense since it’s Six Flags 😂 but yeah, it was very frustrating
