Chanel Oberlin Russia team is always my favorite, sadly i see their gymnastics has been melting down, even netherland girls perform more complex spins than them nowadays.
rene ruiz you`re right, but i think rusia needs to improve and could learn from netherlands in some ways, just see their exquisite dance elements on beam.
The Dutch girls have been very innovative and creative by constructing routines that build difficulty through artistic skills, which they excel at, as opposed to attempting difficult tumbling which could get downgraded or cause them to injure themselves. They choreograph beam similarly. Remember, those spins etc are difficult and do get credited well. Yes, "ideally" every gymnast should be able to combine both perfectly but this so rarely happens - who is perfect at everything? At least these girls are self aware enough to play to their strengths. It's exactly the same as the U.S. Girls who use huge tumbling passes to build difficulty while labouring over a single turn. Not saying that as a criticism, just to point out that not everyone can tumble powerfully and not everyone can execute difficult dance elements. Which style you prefer is just a matter of personal preference, and at least now we have some variety out on the floor to watch.
I come back to watch this almost every day. It's such an example of combining athleticism and artistry into one package - Eythora is my favorite gymnast from this quad by far.
The Dutch team gave me the most things to be happy about at this year's worlds. I'm so glad they get to send a full squad to Rio and that Wevers medaled on beam. Hopefully other countries will catch on and find a better balance between difficult dance and tumbling.
Eythora epitomizes performance and artistry here with the way that she captures you the from the first seconds of the routine. You can't take your eyes of her for one second for fear of missing something magical. That's what we all wish women's floor could be all the time. However, this may not be the most popular opinion, but if you're going to build your D score with spins, then I'd hope that the gymnast could do them without falling out. Her double L + double spin combination was quite lovely. The others were not so much. The final triple spin was just upsetting. Maybe this just wasn't Eythora's best meet. Maybe she nails them perfectly in every practice. But if you are going to make something, like spins, a feature of your routine, then make sure you're showing off your strengths. I love that there are gymnasts out there looking critically at the CoP and finding ways to make it work form them rather than against them. We need that in gymnastics. Anyway you slice it, more Eythora, please! Just watch those tricky turns!
A lot of gymnasts dont do everything perfect at the meets.. Like other gymnasts fall at the tumbling skills (where they build difficulty with) she fell in some turns, and stuk the (not so hard like others I know) tumbling skills! Go eythora💪. She is a young woman and im excited to see her in the future :)
I came to Ethora because my Latin teacher asked me about my gymnastics. He told me that he teached a girl named Ethora Thorsdottir a few years ago. When i looked it up, i came to this happy girl that really enjoys the things she can do. I hope to be like her one day!
The Dutch girls really just knocked it out of the park and this championships. So glad to see a full team heading to Rio. Does anyone else get a "Nightmare before Christmas" vibe from this routine. The orange and black leo's plus the music sounds like it was taken from a Tim Burton film.
Such a treat to see Eythora preform. Her and Lieke's artistry is just unrivaled, The Netherlands is beating Russia in artistry rn tbh. Dont get mad at me Russian stans please.
+rene ruiz eythora is a young gymnast who just started her carriere . But hey check out the elegance , there soomthness tru the movements (beam). Also the wevers are rly elegant and good at the turns and dance. Oh also checkout Lisas floor ;) . Im sorry for you but I think the netherlands is better in some ways and russia could learn from that (also other countries). The netherlands should absolutely learn from others tumbling passes too.
+Rene Ruiz yeah Im not saying that The Netherlands is beating Russia in terms of medals, but lets face it....... Russia is just a bunch of arm waves. Russia's success in gymnastics isn't something The Netherlands can rival........ at least not yet :). But The Netherland's artistry is better #justmyopinion
I LOVE this gymnast!!!! I wish she had a little more difficulty in the tumbling tho! If so, with her artistry she'd be a contender to make finals!!!! I really hope she takes the scholarship to UCLA!!! Americans need to see and emulate this type of presentation!!! 😊
The choreography is great and in line with the music, but she can do better with the dance elements; with her leaps (and to a smaller degree her turns) she is only using her legs and shoulders, and isn't using and extending her arms to set them up, especially for that first Gogean. Here she fell out of her latter two turns and I'd think as much as they were practiced, technique may have contributed to that. Something also in common with her and Lieke is the really high back handsprings, it's almost as though they could turn either of them into a whip back. Overall, the qualities are there and I hope they can fix things for Rio. Beam is great, though.
it has like 3 tumble passes in it with a few different skills. Also the leaps and front aerials are great. I never saw someone on a dance show dancing like this. Love this routine, rly artistic , clean and beautiful too watch. It's not only the tumble. this routine is an amazing "show" with everything together .
+Gymnasticsx Love, firstly i wanna say I'm not hating on this routine in fact i like it a lot but i just miss the acrobatic content which would make this EF status. Unless we are watching two different routines i can only see two tumbling lines however if both those tumbles were huge H skills then id be more satisfied for the tumbling passes. Being a professional dancer i really do appreciate the choreography and the effort to bring more artistry back to the sport but even when i believe gymnastics to be at its peak with artistry back in the 80's we saw a much higher level of acrobatic content. Unfortunately for the Dutch team (so pleased they Q for Rio) they choose to build there D score with gymnastic/ dance elements and the judges find way more deductions with that.
+Mandy - yeah I guess it makes sense. And I actually like the routine ALOT. For me it's missing something. On the flip side Gabby Douglas had no dance just poses. Still waiting for the next gymnast that really has it both.
One of the most beautiful floor routines I have ever seen
Thank you Netherlands for being one of the few holders of artistry in this sport
Chanel Oberlin Russia team is always my favorite, sadly i see their gymnastics has been melting down, even netherland girls perform more complex spins than them nowadays.

why are you replying to your own comment? or did someone else reply and then deleted their reply?
I absolutely could watch this routine all day long and never grow tired of it. I didn't want it to end.
just cant stop watching this beautiful piece of art

Omg I agree so muchh. preachh🙇🙆👌👏💞😉
Robert Woolfe ^^
love to see a gymnast who looks connected to her music and her dance
I come back to watch this almost every day. It's such an example of combining athleticism and artistry into one package - Eythora is my favorite gymnast from this quad by far.
I absolutely love her she is so elegant

This is the most beautiful floor routine in gymnastics today. Such artistry and grace. Thank you Netherlands and hope to see Eythora in Rio2016!
i think eythora thorsdottir and sanne en lieke wevers and celine van gerner will have a big chance to be in the olympic team
Still my favorite routine that Eythora did!
This is so beautiful!
It's so cool that this floor exercise is actually artistic unlike many floor exercises today
love this unique and beautiful routine, from the artisty gymnast of the nls😍💞
She is beautiful! This was a treat to watch, I wish more gymnasts these days incorporated actual dance into their routines.
I love this girl. She's so magical and captivating to watch. She's like a unicorn.
I didn't want it to end and usually I find floor painful to watch. So beautiful and expressive!
Beautiful details and musical interp!
Goosebumps. Even 4 years later. Absolutely magnificent.
Every time I watch this routine I feel like she's part fairy or elfin sprite or something. Magical, whimsical, mesmerizing!

Ok.....Someone needs to upgrade the Dutch girls tumbling now. I want these routines on the Olympic podium, Stunning
Ikr… they have the artistry just not the difficulty…😭
stunning! lovely!
Mesmerizing. Absolutely beautiful
Beautiful!!
So graceful. Beautiful routine.
Absolutely beautiful!!!!!!'
excellent artistry!
Beautiful 😱❤
Hermosa rutina
Only good compliments to this routine
What a beautiful routine!! I
Me encanta Eythora
Wow. Beautiful.
my fav moment 1:32
Did she get credit for the Memmel and triple spin?
No for both

Lovely!!!!
This is the first time I've ever seen two passes in a floor routine. Not sure how I feel about it...
some graceful moves coming back to gymnastics? hope so
Still amazing in
2024
The only gymnast I've ever seen use facial expressions as part of the choreography.
She's amazing
amei!
I LOVE this gymnast!!!! I wish she had a little more difficulty in the tumbling tho! If so, with her artistry she'd be a contender to make finals!!!! I really hope she takes the scholarship to UCLA!!! Americans need to see and emulate this type of presentation!!! 😊
I think she is interested in doing NCAA so it will be super excited seeing which college she takes a scholarship for!!!

What music is this?
Great in so many levels, 5.2 DS is really low though
Her d score is a 5.2 because a lot of her turns got downgraded. I believe she usually starts around a 5.6-5.8 when everything is credited
Parece más Gimnasia Rítmica
Que artística
can anyone tell what music is????? please
The Heroic Weather Conditions-of the Universe :) it's a mix
thanks a lot!!!!
i try to find exactly the same version as they play in the video but i can't find it pls help me
Contemporary dancing :)
Just two tumbling passes, how can it be possible?

Je zou zo danseres kunnen zijn
Love the dance but its so missing the tumbles! If we only want Artistic go and watch a dance show at the end of the day gymnastics is acrobatics.

dw, we r watching the same routine! I counted wrong. I think I counted the "pass" with the front areal as a tumble pass too
It's called artistic Gymnastics isn't it?. If You only want to see tumbling then go to tumbling meets.
