Anything built after 2018 in Ontario is not rent controlled so I would be very conscious of that. As soon as your 1 year lease is up they can jack your rent up to anything they want to. Sometimes that's why some rents are cheaper than what you'd expect because they want you in and settled before they hit you with a huge rental increase thats completely legal.
Hi, I'm totally aware about the rent control laws etc. However, I don't see myself staying here long term anyways so if they jack the rent to something unreasonable I'll just move out.
I got lucky and got the FIRST apt I looked at and wanted - at a REDUCED price! It’s in my preferred area, the commute to work was basically the same; and it checked everything on my list. I know it’s taboo to go for the first place you look at, but it felt RIGHT and my kids loved it ☺️ It’s also near my senior parents, so if anything ever happened, we’re right there.
Girl I need to know where you were looking and got these prices lol Husband and I live in the north york area and hoping to upgrade next year and we pay 1,900 for a 1 bedroom. Also love the mic on the spoon.
I totally RELATE! It's so emotionally and physically draining. My best advice would be to get a realtor to help you out if you can! it made the process a little faster and more streamlined for us. I hope you find your dream apartment soon
Great video! Toronto’s cost of living is insane rn everyone is struggling fr. Anyways, i totally feel you when you said the apartment needed an in suite laundry. I say this as someone who has been using coin laundries for years 😅 haha Anyways I hope your channel continues to grow, keep up the good work!
Hi, I didn't use a website to find my realtor. I actually messaged her about another listing on FB and she offered to help me find apartment. That's how we connected.
my roommates and i were trying to find a 3 bedroom under 3k and we saw places where u couldnt fix a bed in the bedrooms. we found places were they called a place a 3 bedroom where they divided the 1 bedroom in half and removed the closet, and then called the living room a bedroom
omg I know! I hate when they say 2 bedroom and it's literally a 1 bedroom plus a small den... i'm like ?? this is not a bedroom lol. I couldn't imagine trying to find a 3 bedroom 😭
@@ravennitisiyihkason that's a very huuuuuuge vague answer... I'm currently paying CAD 2550 or 1bed 1 den in downtown. WiFi included but everything else is payable. Video in my channel =P
@@nielgoh not sure how it’s a vague answer? I answered the question lol. I said in the video that none of these apartments were in downtown Toronto I said they were in the GTA. All listing prices were from winter/spring 2024. I didn’t say specific areas to protect my privacy. Hope that clears things up 😊
Damn you had to compete with many others even when it’s the winter season? This makes me terrified cus I’m about to move there this August “the peak season”. Looks like I might be homeless 🥲
Yes we were competing with other applicants😭 The apartment we chose had like 4 other applicants after us. If we didn’t sign the lease within 24 hours they were going to give it away💀 you will find your perfect place tho! There will also be more available in august than in winter. Good luck 💗
I feel beyond lucky. 59 years old and have always been a home owner. I would sell and move to Central America before going through this bullshit...Which is exactly what i will be doing in a couple of years. Thank you Canada Post for 38 years of service....Goodbye Canada.
@@TheNewSchoolGamer 100% I actually liked living in Alberta. I only came back because I lost everything in an apartment fire and basically had no where to go.
I’ve never enjoyed an apartment vlog like this😍❤️
Omg thank you!!! Your comment made me smile. My moving Vlog is coming sometime next week stay tuned ❤

Howling at the mic on the spoon 😂😂😂loved that little detail! I really want to move to Toronto from the U.K. but the prices look a bit crazy.

Hi! These look amazing. Can you please mention the exact location of these apartments?
What year was this filmed in? Rent seems cheap (even though it’s not)
It was filmed this year lol winter/spring 2024. It might seem cheaper because none of these apartments were in downtown Toronto they were in the GTA

I did the opposite, left there to go to Alberta... when it comes to lifestyle it can be pretty subjective
