- This is a video response to Jamie, who was interested in how I made the art tile mirror she saw in my craft room tour video. It was made with polymer clay tiles, so I ramble on a bit about my experiance with polymer clay. TFW, Sara
These tiles are so pretty, I love all the different shapes, sizes and colors. Great job I am new to polymer clay. When I start I never knew how much you can make with this clay, it is endless. WoW Thanks so much for sharing your talent and video with all of us.

Sara, thank you so much for sharing this video! Your work is amazing! I was at JoAnn's earlier this week & saw they had all clay on sale for $1.00 so I bought a few. I have never worked with clay but I make jewelry and thought perhaps I would try to experiment and make some pendants. So your video was perfect timing for me as now I am really inspired to work with the clay! I even went back to JoAnn's & bought more colors today! I enjoyed looking at your beautiful creations! Patty

Love your tiles! I made a. Hanging board with star fish octopus sea horses seaweed etc. With polymer clay about 10yrs ago to hang in grandkids bathroom!they loved it! Don't know where it is now they are grown up now😂😂 I had fun doing it. Love your mirror.👍🏻👍🏻😍💕❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧

Hi Sara -- I just now watched this video and loved it! You're so funny and down to earth and it's great how you share your work with us on TH-cam. I've been doing polymer clay for about two years but am only just now getting into branching out into adding the mica powders, stamping and embedding bits and bobs to it so your videos are VERY inspiring!

Ok...this video is so inspiring and amazing! Thank you so much for describing your wonderful work/talent and sharing the other wonderful artists. I have looked them up and I am so on board on learning more techniques and making a mosaic tile type of creation. Also the steampunk pieces are beyond awesome and can't wait to attempt. I also looked up cforiginals on line and wow, she has an awe inspiring talent as well. Thanks from your new subbie :)

Hi Sara, I love the mirror you made, it's really beautiful. I have been working with, selling, and teaching others about polymer clay for over 20 years now. So if there is anything anyone wants to know about polymer clay I could probably answer their questions. The molds that you were holding up looked like some molds made by Amaco. You said you use different stamps, powders, and molds for your projects. Besides the powders you mentioned there is also a brand called Primary Elements that can be found on Amazon.There is also company called Deep Red that makes some really wonderful rubber stamps, also on Amazon. Finally, if you are looking for inexpensive molds they can be found on EBay under cake decorating or fondant molds. Polymer Clay TV is trying to sell these molds on their site for $10 and up, plus shipping cost. When you can get the very same molds on EBay for $1.50 with no shipping cost. I hate seeing people get ripped off by greedy artists. I hope this helps.Take care, Dee 😊👍

Love your tile plaques and mirror. Where did you get the lettering that is recessed into the tile? I'm new to tiles and I was wanting to make a 5 piece vertical wall hanging with each of the letters spelling PEASE for my granddaughter. Thank you for the video.
Arlene Spaulding OMG, So cute. I did a similar piece that says DREAM. and I actually used the wood veneer letters that were at Michaels a while ago. They are about 3" and worked perfectly for letter tiles. I strung them together vertically with copper wire. Aren't Grand daughters the best! Mine is turning 8 on Sunday. Unbelievable. TFW, Sara

Sara, can you tell me what you used to adhere the tiles to the mirror? I'm so inspired by your videos that I am now in the process of making tiles. I want to make some mosaics to hang on our walls for art. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Brenda. The glue is called WeldBond. They do sell it at Michaels. I used an old paint brush and apply a coat to the tile and a coat to the frame and then squish them into place. Don't forget to paint the piece first too. Gold or black is nice. Have fun. TFW, sara
You re very inspirational to me I have started tiles and some I like and Don't like, I have to find my Pearl ex funny one bedroom apartment and dining room table is my only place to craft :) got to get more organized here lol :)
Thanks. I have so many tiles that I don't like. I love my Rubbermaid carts with drawers on wheels. Then you can roll it out of the way when not crafting. TFW. Sara
Oh My you are so talented. I am definitely getting into this. Did all your ideas come with time and experimenting or did they just come to you right from the start? Thank you so much for sharing this. I totally love your work. Where are you located? I would love it if we lived close to each other. I'm not weird, really. Just don't have any friends who do polymer.

Hi! I came across your Christmas project and the ocean theme and I just fell in love and decided this is my next project. I saw a few of your videos and saw I need 1. clay, 2. something to roll them with (I am def getting the pasta Maker) 3. some molds, 4. something to color with. I am new to inka gold but I just bought some for very cheap, along with pearlx and stamp gang. H2o. Silks. And lumiere. I don't know how to use any of it but if was super cheap so I bought it. Hopefully I won't need any more. 5. I have stamps and charms. But I would like to know if you could provide me with a list of must haves to start me with this. I have never used clay before. What is that thing you use to cut it that looks like a ruler. ? Thank you in advance
Also I don't know what mica powder or micro beads are. Are they necessary? And what do I need to protect my work surface lol I don't want to gather all supplies and then can't start because I don't know on what. Thanks !
+torresxrocks ok. I have several videos on polymer clay tiles and you should really watch as many as you can before you start. Other people's too. Just to get to know as much as you can and then gather up supplies you already have that you can use. Pearlex is mica powder so you got that. I get the same way when I get inspired. Just discovered polymer clay and your videos!! I am going to go buy some tomorrow and give it a try. A couple of questions- why do you use Polymer clay rather than the Air Baked clay that Crayola makes? Second- who was the person who taught you how to do the tiles for the mirror? I couldn’t catch her name. Can’t wait to give this a try!!
Judy Williamson hi Judy. I started with polymer clay and not air dry because that is what Laurie Mika uses to make the tiles. I learned most of what I know from watching you tube videos and taking classes on line. Have fun. Sara
Where do you get your micro powders? I cannot seem to find them anywhere in my local Micheals.
The Mica powders are called Perfect Pearls and they are a ranger product I think. Our Michaels has them in the Stamp aisle. The other brand si called Pearl Ex, Sara
Just found your video ... beautiful work!! What adhesive did you use one your tile mirror?
NG B I use a white glue called Weldbond. I know Michaels is carrying it now. I got it first at a stained glass store. It's great. TFW, Sara

Hi Brenda, I checked it out and left a message. I don't think it does any harm. I'd be more upset if someone were being mean or talking bad about me. I'm not sure if I should start any trouble. There are people like me who would be upset that someone stole my hard work and claimed it as theirs, especially if they are making money from it. I believe people like this should be stopped. But you are a kind and generous person to not be bothered by this. I want you to know that I love your videos. :-)
