The composters reduce lag from the hoppers. A hopper usuallay checks if there are any items that can be picked up. If a container is on top of the hopper it only checks the availible slots. Since hoppers can pull bonemeal out of the composter and that is the only availible slot, it results in the smallest amount of lag possible.
Happy to see this thing again, especially with a different design! I think Rad cleared up all the questions already, the main reason for many design choices really is "because Rad wanted it" which in my opinion was some pretty nice choices. If you have any other questions you can ofc also ask us personally, we always love to help! And thanks again for building this and the great video!
Rad wants, Rad gets 🤣 It's a great build you guys created! It's surprisingly simple now I understand how everything works together and connects. Thanks for the comment, and thanks for the design 😊
Nice video & great to see our storage being built into a world. Having dug out the "full" box, I feel your pain on that. This thing does take HOURS to build. lol I'll see if I can't clear a few things up: 1) the MIS is acting as a single system and because we've combined multiple it will "be weird" for the first idk, few times you run it. Just keep fixing the snowballs as needed and it clears up then NEVER has another issue. It's related to the multiple system as far as I can tell. 2) I put rails on their own because I know in 1.22 Mojang is going to add a new type of rail for us to use to achieve that 1000x speed. Kidding, basically I just wanted the "transportation" together and the "redstone" fit neatly on the one end. 3) You're probably going to get questions on why we decided on 10 unloaders when you "only need one" and it was a buffer issue. I wanted to be able to dump shulkers in and get the shulkers back to reuse them but not worry much about the overall speed of the system. As with most technical storages, it was designed for the user (me) so the appropriate answer is probably "because Rad's weird" lol After having this storage for the last 2000 days in my world now I can say it does fully work, everything is functional for me, and if this isn't in spawn chunks or chunkloaded you NEED to do that. If you don't have this fully loaded, you can't leave for ages once you put stuff in. Mine is in spawn chunks, other people have chunkloaded it - both works but without that, you'll run into huge issues. Thanks for building it and love the design! I always see people rebuild it with our design but seeing it in another palette was really nice.
Honestly was not expecting you to even come across this video 🤣 thanks man! And thanks for clearing stuff up. I think I'm going to have to remove the golden carrot farm I spent ages making, otherwise I can't chunk load it 🤣 I cut that bit out of the video cos it was just pointless to show, but basically at the moment I can chunk load it due to the portal connecting to the gold farm portals I have set up. So unless the loader being 3 chunks away from the input chests doesn't actually matter (which is where I assumed it needed to be closest to), I'mma have to get rid of my auto golden carrot farm 😢
@@tomplays_MC haha I was sent it twice today actually! :D And yeah if you don't want a gold farm constantly loaded you'd prob have to move that as you'll need to chunkload the "whole" (all chunks) for the storage. There are some decent links in Storage Tech on that kind of thing.
They reduce the lag hoppers make, hoppers check to see if a item is above it unless you put a container block on top then it'll check the container for items and composters only have 1 slot to check instead of it checking every slot in a chest/barrel, I think pots might work but IDK
And if you are making a hopper line going down use a pot between hoppers to save iron and help with lag plus they line up nicely (Hopper) (Pot) (Hopper)
When building with litematica u can do so the schematic shows one layer at a time so its easier to build. Its a setting found in the most right tab ( its easy to find )
One thing you can do to make life easier is in Litematica go into your options and set the mode to layer, this makes it so it will only render blocks of one layer at a time which makes building complicated redstone builds 100x easier, btw i have no clue how you don't have more subscribers.
@@tomplays_MC also there's a setting that easy place, so you basically just need to hold right click and have the items in your inv, makes it easier and faster even more

6:25 - That chunk loader stops when you log out of the world. Perhaps that's why it stopped working. In order for your mob switch to always work, you could move the zombie villagers to the border of the spawnchunks in such a way that with a lever you can put them in and out of the spawnchunks by moving them with water. This way, you won't need to restart the chunk loader everytime you relog in the world because it will be working 24/7. 09:06 - Composters reduce lag from the hoppers.
25:05 you could connect the "bits" with the next stair's bits so it would be entirely connected and maybe won't feel that weird (from above it would look like a double sized "+") (I hope it's understandable what I wrote lol)

Being able to keybind the layers to the arrows would be great actually. I'll have to look into that. The main reason I don't bother with the layer technique during big builds is cos I cba to go back and forth into the settings 🤣
To avoid the issue with the schematic being a big square you can do it in different selections on the same schematic, It's not that complicated, I use it to build a big storage system too. ti consiglio di tradurlo perche sono italiano ma per le schematiche c’è sia un impostazione per avere strato per strato la costruzione e sia un impostazione per piazzare il blocco che serve in quel punto automaticamente basta avere quel blocco nell’inventario
Sì, lo so. Utilizzo questa impostazione solo per build o sezioni più piccole. Per le build di grandi dimensioni, in realtà preferisco vedere tutto, ma è solo la mia preferenza. Grazie comunque 🤣
Now that I built my tiny auto storage that matches the aesthetic of the rest of my world and only holds blocks i used in the first 400 days i should’ve built this……
Yeeeeep that's why I just went all out 🤣 in the past I've always ended up adding extra storage and at least this way I have space for everything I'll ever need!
If you're going to build your own storage, sure... something like this is just fine. But if you're going to copy someone else's build, there's better solutions out there than this.
A very impressive build but I'm struggling with the concept. There are numerous videos on TH-cam showing huge storage systems but not one of them explains the purpose. Why would anyone want to STORE 25 million items ? Surely you only mine and farm for particular builds and not just for the sake of it ! (OK I know when farming or mining you obtain more than you actually need, so somewhere to store the surplus - but 25 million ! Even on a server with numerous members a huge storage system, to my mind, is unnecessary) Not to mention the hassle of navigating such a huge structure to find an item or items. I've been meaning to ask this question for some time now, so can some kind person please enlighten a highly confused minecrafter ?
The purpose is cos if I'm in this world for 10,000 days, rather than throw away my entire inventory anytime I go mining for materials for builds, I can just store everything in case I need it in the future. The purpose of EVERY item, is because I don't yet know what I may need for future build ideas and it just makes things easier for my brain to have a space for everything
Plus, this storage isn't actually that big and Is very easy to "navigate"... There is no "navigating" needed lol. It's just 4 directions. One has shulkers box items. One has coloured items (wool, glass, concrete), one has end/ nether. And the last has everything else. It's rather quite simple lol
Ooooohhhhh thanks man. That's a much more in depth explanation than I've found. Appreciate it!
the hopper checks for items 24 times a sec to be exact
Mannnn😢 I wanted to be the nerd hereee :((
Why not just place a block of stone, then it cant pull anything. Ideally it should be more lag resistant than composted which can be pulled once full?

My mind can not comprehend this! It took me 11 years to even beat the ender dragon. 😅
Haha, why did it take you so long?!
I am indeed that bad at this game.
🤣
Could make snow golem farm for the snow balls
I could've indeed. I even had a load of snow and pumpkins 🤣 my brain doesn't really brain well when I do these videos, ngl

After you build it, you will have used your 25 million items and have nothing left to store. LOL
Exactly how it felt 😂
What for filters are you running my goodness that’s too much color for me.
I used iron nuggies for filters. And all the colour is just the litematica mod lol. It does get a bit difficulty to see what youre doing haha
Why doesn’t my chuck loader work??
I don't know. Check the portals and make sure they link correctly would be my first suggestion
ti consiglio di tradurlo perche sono italiano ma per le schematiche c’è sia un impostazione per avere strato per strato la costruzione e sia un impostazione per piazzare il blocco che serve in quel punto automaticamente basta avere quel blocco nell’inventario
Sì, lo so. Utilizzo questa impostazione solo per build o sezioni più piccole. Per le build di grandi dimensioni, in realtà preferisco vedere tutto, ma è solo la mia preferenza. Grazie comunque 🤣
Can someone link the iron farm pls
Check the 10 farms video. The link to it is in that description 🤙
Put a peice of black carpt over those "top bits" of sea laterns
Hmm 🤔 I'll test that, as well as some other suggestions and see which works best
@@tomplays_MC ok, tbh idek if that would look good but its a way that blends in, and also lets the light through
I'm hoping to do a live stream on TH-cam at some point so I'll test out the suggestions then to get live responses
@@tomplays_MC ok i got notis ok
Now that I built my tiny auto storage that matches the aesthetic of the rest of my world and only holds blocks i used in the first 400 days i should’ve built this……
Yeeeeep that's why I just went all out 🤣 in the past I've always ended up adding extra storage and at least this way I have space for everything I'll ever need!
If you're going to build your own storage, sure... something like this is just fine. But if you're going to copy someone else's build, there's better solutions out there than this.
In your opinion. That's fair enough 😊
PUT THE SLIMEBALL
Slimeball?
the new update prob broke you storage system lol
Noooope. It's all good, don't worry haha
I miss the video in 5 days🥴
Tut tut. Gotta be faster than that!

Yeyeeeeee I still recognise your name from my earlier vids 🤙
@@tomplays_MC yea thanx man
I have created a storage system that can hold 1,191,628,800 items 🤷♀ I would love to say I'm impressed but mines just bigger XD
Ok
No need for over 1b items 🤣 not even any need for 25m items tbh haha
@tmp_gaming no of course not but it's just for the sake of never having to make a storage again, even in future minecraft updates on that world lol
