I love VHS/DVD combo players. The fact that VHS's are still getting so much love from collectors and even coming back in popularity is so awesome. I hope they never die.
I was a manager at Erol's Video in the late .80s. Those big VHS cases were their trademark. Personally I thought them to be too big and bulky. I'm seriously surprised that some of these artifacts are still around.
I think that VHS VCR was probably part of a early handcam camcocrder setup. I had a JVC vcr that was half of a early camcorder and it had a similar modular feeling. You had to carry a whole VCR in a backback with the camera connected with cords.
Another fun fact about The Last Star Fighter is that it was directed by Nick Castle who played the original Michael Myers in Carpenter's Halloween! Castle also directed Major Payne!
Riff trying to buy that clear (jail) radio until he saw the "flavor" on it was pretty funny. They used to sell standard definition TV's like that at a pawn shop here years ago

Think that clear stereo you put back may have been a prison version for people in prison if so it would be worth quite a bit maybe a few hundred bucks! All prison equipment needs to be transparent so to make sure they are not smuggling anything into the prison

I recently bought one anime vhs called thunder prince at a shop i was selling some extra stuff to recently and it has like a metallic slipcover had to buy it for that lol (they actually gave me it free on top of paying me $5 more than I was asking for for what I sold to them) Idk anything about prices but that atari seemed like the plug 😆I gotta visit my local markets so bad to see what I can find 😭
