Darrren Betker I would just look online for a farm supply store and buy them there. The problem will be that you can't physically hold them and size them up to see if they will fit your application
kwmiked both go on the inside of the skis. You would not want them on the outside of the skis for a couple of reasons. First you want to throw the snow toward the track not toward the outside of the sled. Second you don't want them getting caught on anything that you're squeezing by when you are writing.
Do you cut the bailer with the green part keeping the hook portion and then you have a green and black scratcher? What did you use for the hardwood spacer? Measurements?
Thats why he drilled that other hole behind it on the ski that he didn't drill all the way through so that they can be hooked into it in a "resting position" when the scratchers are not needed (in reverse). He basically said it in the video .
The beauty of the internet....men with minds sharing with the group.
this vid needs more views.. exactly what i was looking for.. :D cheers
Great idea my friend perfect awesome keep them coming Big Al Michigan
I've seen one at back of ski, this one seems to close to front. I think the ones that bolt on to sliders work best.
Great video
That's awesome, would you recommended use them in Conjunction with Scratchers on the Slide rails? Prolly couldn't hurt huh?
excellent
what about just using a grade 8 bolt and drill a hole in the end for the clip? same thing no?
these springs are "Bailer Teeth or Rakes"
I can’t find the teeth! Where and do you have a part number?
they are reel tines
But what about the air and snow coming forward out of the track , would that not counteract the snow going backwards from the scratcher?
Not to the air. As for snow if you have snow circulating around the track you probably don't require the scrapers and the effects don't matter
how about steering effort?
John Drott you won't even notice them when you were steering and writing
Riding
no doubt they throw up tons of snow but I imagine you'll need to store them in the up position when you reverse your sled??
+Jake Landry no reverse on this particular sled. But, ya, you would need to leave them up to back up like most other scratchers
cool, I guess they're valuable.
also wher can u get these if you dont have a farm supply store in your city?

where buy the spring ????
You can buy baler teeth at any Farm Fleet, Tractor Supply Store, or any Agricultural supply store or Dealership.
what about being in reverse?
Darrren Betker you would have to have them in the up position when you reverse. Most scratchers require the same thing
That sucks
how do u do otherside ski? since spring tine is only made one way? or one side has to be on outside of ski?

I think what he is asking is that it appears that the springs only cut one way, so how do you get the spring to mount on the inside of the other ski.
Do you cut the bailer with the green part keeping the hook portion and then you have a green and black scratcher? What did you use for the hardwood spacer? Measurements?
D Busch exactly!
Lets see ya go in revearse
´thanks for sharing this...
You can buy both sides on ebay (cut in middle) bet they don't reverse..............not buying
