Sorry one more question. When selling the transfers. I am able to sell them with side A and B married together correct? Like you don’t have to use it right away once together..correct? Cause I would think you would have some on shelf and plus they would have to be on the mail a few days. Thanks for all your help !!
Just got my 560! My favorite part of this video is when you said the manufacturer is going to recommend and expensive heat press and you use your $400 one and it works just fine! Love how you keep it real! I watched a few videos in the master class and he kept plugging that expensive press! I was like nah I’m good with my press…plus Melisssa said so 😊😂
Do you like ? Was thinking about the DTF 1000
What this people dont tell you if your new and dont have crazy clients this is perfect for you because when you build it will help you to grow to better quality
I just wanna say thank you you have literally really inspired me to get back into the clothing business I was gone for two years now I am all the way motivated due to watching your videos thank you now I have a question is the uninet I560 compatible with MacBook Pro? I am seriously considering purchasing a uninet I560 but all I have are MacBook laptops
That's great, thank you! Unfortunately, my Mac-lovin' heart is also sad b/c the ProRip needed to run the Uninet iColor 560 is only PC compatible. I do as much as I can on my mac then put on G Drive and go to a PC laptop I reluctantly keep for just this type of program. I just download from the G Drive on the PC and pull into ProRip.
I have a mac as well and want to buy this printer but hesitant. I heard there is a software program called Parallel that emulates a PC, do you know if anyone has tried this ?@@SilhouetteSchool
Thank you so much for your detailed review!! I am at a toss up because I feel it would be great but I wanted to know can you use this type of print on a glass tumbler/can? Once printed and transferred to sheet B can you place it on the glass cup and press it in a cup press? I really like the white underprint option for glass so you can see the print better then sublimation….is this possible? And if so what do you think the longevity of it is?
Hey there! Check out this blog post: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/09/how-to-use-icolor-hard-surface-paper.html
@@SilhouetteSchool thank you so so much! So for glass do you recommend putting it in the oven lol or placing it in the cup press again?
I use a lot of decals for small models that I buy from 3rd parties. Does this printer behave similarly to an ALPS that prints white spot color, then color over the white? I would want this printer to use with water slide/slip paper.
Absolutely amazing breakdown. I was wondering about the software part and stumbled upon your video and was tuned in the whole time. Great job!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Hello thanks for the review, which heat press would you recommend for this printer? Preferably 1 that does everything but if not that's ok too. Thanks again.
This one for sure! www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/search?q=8+in+1
Does the Uninet Icolor 560 apropiate to make clear labels with white lettering and designs or is too expensive?
I have made clear labels with white! They come out beautifully www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/11/how-to-make-stickers-with-white-text.html (last pic)
Hi! I loved the video, I’m just a little hesitant on purchasing the printer from swing design. Was the shipping process smooth? I would appreciate any input
I would highly recommend Swing Design. Been working with them and buying from them for years.
great video and extremely informative. Very appreciative of your post...it helped a lot
Glad it was helpful!
Is there a comparison of durability between the 560 transfers to clothing opposed to that of other media such as screen print and vinyl?
Just like any handmade item, the gentler the care, the more longevity you'll get out of a transfer.
Thank you for your review! This video was very informative and definitely helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Any body can help ? My question is the tone that came with the printer can be used for sublimation or I need to buy separately??🙏🙏🙏
No the toner that came with the printer is not for sublimation. The sublimation toners need to be purchased separately.
What is the most expensive part which could go wrong
Because I am thinking of buying a used one
What about print size? Also roughly how long would you say your cartridges last?
I’m currently using a DTF which has a nice output. But I’m tired of the maintenance!
The. print size on the 560 is 8.5x 14. You can create larger transfers by using the SmartCut option which will allow you to basically tile a design and then reassemble on the shirt
Sonia this printer a laser printer? Also how big can you print (sheet size) large prints??
This printer takes 8.5 x11" paper however it has an option called Smart Cut that will allow you to print larger images on multiple sheets to put together. There is a larger version of this printer that can take paper 11x17 shrsl.com/4ha7s
@@SilhouetteSchool got it thank you so much for the info :)
How do the prints hold up in the wash? I heard there was a problem with that. What is your thoughts on that
I have been happy with the results. There is some cracking but it's not unlike garments I have purchased from the store that have graphics which crack over time as well. You can reduce cracking with various techniques such as knockout and rasterizing to reduce the size of solid areas in the transfers.
@@SilhouetteSchool very thorough review! How many washes before you noticed cracking? I presently print dtg and get a minimum of 30 washes before any loss of quality.
@@mainboard1987 It depends on how you prepare the design (rastorize / knockout the shirt color). It's definitely a transfer and with all transfer there will be some cracking.
Over 50 washes if you know the game. If you dont know what you are doing you gonna have issues after a few washes
I did a youtube search for 'how to prevent cracking with White Toner Transfer Printer' and several videos are available with people explaining the rasterizing technique and how one goes about creating it - the pros and cons (seems like no matter how many 'pros' there always have to be 'cons') of the process.
I had an icolor a long time ago (when it first came out), and it was a disaster. I hope they have gotten better. I didn't have any help, and they didn't try to help at all.
I've liked it so far!
Hey love your videos.. im just curious what gsm card stock can you put in this printer?
I have a few Questions.
1) I seen in other video of this printer, that you have to let it cool before you pull off the printed sheet off other wise you could pull up the designoff the shirt.. So my question is. this is like a Vinal tranfer where if you run your hand over it you can feel what you printed on it. or is this like dye sublimation that the ink is now part of the shirt and you cant feel the design)
2) also i seen you can do things like coffie cups, Do you have to use specal cup made for this type of ink to hold your design. or will any coffie up work.
3) Will this work with dye sublimation items (like those front licenes plates for cars ID's. and more.)
Thanks much.
Hey there, white toner does have a hand or a "feel" to it. It does not impart into the substrate. Check out our full page of tutorials with info and blank ideas here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/uninet-icolor-560-printer-and-pro-rip.html
Great video! Would you say this printer is better that any other DTF printer like the prestige?
Hey there! This printer is a white toner, so it's different than a DTF. It has the advantage over DTF printers in that the white toner printers don't' require daily maintenance. I have a printer comparison here if you want to check it out! www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/melissas-fleet-of-printers-for.html
How do the prints last after they have been washed for a few months? Coming from sawgrass I’m concerned that they wont hold up as well, what is your experience?
There's definitely a difference because with sublimation the ink is being infused into the fibers of the fabric. With any type of heat transfer whether it's DTF, laser transfers like these or HTV the transfer sits on top of the fabric. The quality of the transfer over time is largely determined by how the art work is prepared and how the transfer is applied. If it's done correctly you should experience minimum cracking.
You mentioned sublimation toner cost, but how much does the regular toner for transfers run? After the starter set of toner...
They are about $1100 - but with a massive 7,000 page yield each.
Is that 7,000 at 5% coverage? What percent coverage for print per page would you say?
@@heatherwalden6317 Yes 7000 page yield at 5% coverage
Hi! Thank you for the video. Can this printer print gold and metallic colors?
You can get metallic toners for it but I would recommend this method instead: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/11/how-to-put-foil-on-paper-with-heat.html
Can you print stickers / decals on white paper or clear / transparent ?
What program/design website do you prefer and I’m stuck between a dtf printer and this uninet printer
I do almost everything in Silhouette Studio and the export out to whatever software or RIP I'm using
Thank you so much for your easy-to-understand explanation.
Do you know what's the thickest cardstock it can handle?
What software or programs would you recommend to get started digitally to learn how to manipulate pictures/svgs or make them? I really want to get in the game and make my own images & learn how to change images. I was looking at the oki & recently came across this printer & this outshines the oki big time!
Hey there! I use Silhouette Studio and then export to ProRip to print. I have a full design guide for Silhouette Studio here: www.ultimatesilhouetteguide.com/collections/frontpage/products/the-ultimate-silhouette-guide-to-designing
How Long took you to receve your printer?
Hey there! Shipping times really depend if you're pre ordering or ordering already in stock.
how many times can you wash a garment made with a uninet before it starts peeling/fading etc? I've been reading most last only 4-5 washes?! :(
I have not experienced any peeling or fading with the white toner transfers..the issue is usually more around cracking. A lot of how well it washes has to do with how well it's applied and rasterized before. the transfer is printed. If you are looking for the best printer to create t shirt transfers there are several different options. This should help: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/melissas-fleet-of-printers-for.html
Yes, I have heard this too. Especially with the white toner. I'm hoping more will jump in and tell us how their products have washed up.
can buy yes one toner or i need to buy all set, how many print aprox, white toner give me
do you have to pre treat the garment for white toner printing. is there a better product out there than then icolor500 since you made this video
No you do not need to pretreat for white toner transfer
How many washes can these shirt designs handle? Like heat transfer vinyl is very durable to about 20-30 washes, vs ink transfers I really have no idea on? Would really like to get into something like this! Or Direct To Film. Thanks!
Sublimation toner is expensive, but would you say it lasts longer than ink cartridges?
Yes these toners are very high yield
I don't have a WT printer yet but am wanting to get one, I know the uninet i560 seems to be the most popular but I came across the Ricoma luminaries 2000 WT printer they currently have a deal with zero interest and payments as low as $70 per month which includes a heat press, I already have a heat press so i guess i'd end up with a back up. Their rip software also comes in both PC or Mac and I have a mac. Do you have any experience with the ricoma WT printers
I don't. I only have the iColor 560
Hi, I'm having this issue where Prorip says it's printed but the printer doesn't respond, I've checked all the connections and everything looks good

Did you ever compare the CRIO with this? I understand they are originally the same printer but the companies modify them differently. Trying to decide.
The biggest difference is the iColor can do white over and under print.
Did you use the original cartridges’s that came with the printer or did you use the Sublimation cartridge’s to heat press the image on 100% cotton tee shirt
I am using the toner that came with the printer, not the sublimation toner.
Ok I’m convinced!!!! I was debating! 🎉😊
How to find the better machine to make stickers and business card?
Hi there im from the uk do you know where i can get a uninet icolour 560 printer and would they ship overseas and are they very expensive?
Hi I have 560 white toner , I need to no how to adjust the red color to print. Me any my daughter my shirt, tumblers, other things.
So if you needed to print black, there is no black toner or is there black and you swap out the white toner for the black so its then CMYK or does it print black by mixing the CMY toners?
Yes there is black toner...and you are correct that when you want to use the white toner, you need to take out black and then black is made with CMY. There's a photo in this blog post that shows www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/11/how-to-make-stickers-with-white-text.html
Hi, we just purchased our model and the program appears to be giving us issues. Have you ever experienced it printing the same image repeatedly? After the job is complete and we attempt to print a different image, it prints the previous one no matter what adjustments we can find to troubleshoot
Hey there! Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the software?
Is there a video showing how to print larger than 8.5 x11 with the smart cut ??
Also what paper / card stock can you used??
I will add that to my list of videos to do ;)
No comparisons? Kinda wish you would have done one vs. a DTF
I have a White Toner vs DTF here th-cam.com/video/uIINI12e_q8/w-d-xo.html and here www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/03/which-printer-should-i-get-next.html
What made you choose this over the Ricoma and the OKI?
The over and under print ability
@@SilhouetteSchool
I'm just having a hard time deciding between the Ricoma Luminaris 200 and the iColor 650
What is the cost per transfer? In terms of the owners cost?
Can this printer sit idle for weeks or months without having any print issues when needed on demand
Yes the maintenence on this one is nearly non existent due to toner rather than ink
Is there a white toner printer that can run on Mac?
How to do stickers what material do i need
If you had to pick between unintended or prestige A3?
I'd check this out...www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/melissas-fleet-of-printers-for.html
I am looking for a good ink jet printer to make stickers and business card to start
How do these transfers wash when compared to HTV and sublimation or even transfer paper that I can use with any sort of printer?
They don't fade b/c the toner is a powder and it's colored unlike ink that can fade. However if you don't prepare the file correctly - as in there's not enough space or it's not rastorized correctly - you can get cracking.
sublimation is far more durable. we have an icolor 550 and run it in both sublimation and white toner modes and most people prefer sublimation because it lasts far longer.
Is it possible to create a mug/tumbler/glass can wrap without having to use a mug press?
Yes, you can use a convection oven
@@SilhouetteSchool Is it possible to create a wrap without the heating component?
I'm in the market for a dtf machine, is the a+b media film really $180 for 25 sheets? Or is there a more affordable option option of film that can be used? Thanks in advance!
For DTF? Not the DTF film sheets are about $90 for 200 sheets..prices slightly vary from that depending on the size of the DTF sheet. shrsl.com/3z16t
But how does it wash does it fade or feel wrinkly?
As with anything, the gentler the care, the better your design will wear. You do not want to dry on high heat.
What kind of 8 in one heat press do you have?
This is the 8 in 1 heat press I have shrsl.com/3udq3
Thank you. very helpful information I am realy considering getting into the business. But this will be my first printer 🖨 I am just a bit nervous 😓 😟
Glad it was helpful!
Is this more like a DTF or DTG when finished on a tee, Meaning can you feel like a plastic film over the design
It feels like a transfer - like DTF
Enjoyed this video very much, thanks!!
So glad!
Does the 560 also take their sublimation toners or is that another icolor model?
Yes, the iColor 560 will take the sublimation toners
@@SilhouetteSchool awesome, I know there is no white so light color and white garments only for icolor sublimation but how is the feel does it feel the same as a traditional dye sublimation print and press and can you do cotton or only poly like traditional DS?

Once the image is pressed does it have a vinyl feel to it like printable htv does
It's between a screenprint and HTV. It has a hand but not quite as stiff as HTV.
What transfer papper are you using? :)
I usually buy "screen print transfers" from different businesses and facebook groups but i am tired of spending $4-$5 per transfer. is this the printer they print those with? Or is it the eco-solvent printer? sorry im trying to do research to do my own transfers now as i am selling quite a few shirts..
Hey there! I'd suggest exploring the "which printer to get next" graphic on this page: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/melissas-fleet-of-printers-for.html There's also a pros and cons list for each kind of printer.
Screen print transfers are just that, they are screen printed 1 color at a time onto the transfer instead of the garment. Eco solvent is a cmyk outdoor rated printer that prints onto htv. I see its been 5 months since you posted but in case someone else comes along.
How many prints can you usually get from a cartridge?
Around 7,000 pages.
Do you have a video on White Tone printing on Acrylic. Thanks.
I haven't done acrylic, sorry! You can find all the tutorials we have so far here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/uninet-icolor-560-printer-and-pro-rip.html
I have a Dell laptop and desktop all in one, would that software work on these? Not to sound dumb
The Rip software runs on PC, so yes it should be fine as long as you have enough room for it on your computer
I think they are nice being able to print white but I don't understand is everything I'm hearing and reading is when you put these on clothes it will only last like 50 washes. It's almost a waste if the ink won't last on the clothes.
Hey there! As with any handmade item, then gentler the care, the longer the wear!

The standard is about 7,000 pages however it really will depend on your use and the colors you print with most.
will it work on waterslide paper
Does the software it comes with work on Mac?
You either need to use a Windows Computer or a Windows emulator on your Mac to be able to use the software.
Can this printer do actual photos? Like photos of people.

Was there a reason you got the i560 instead of the i650? I am trying to decided between the two. Also how long does the transfer last? as in if printed and not used, how long can you store it?
The 560 suits my needs well! Check out all of the blog posts we have on the 560 here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/uninet-icolor-560-printer-and-pro-rip.html
How long transfers last??? Depends on who you ask. Many get over 50 washes with ease. Others have issues after 2 to 5 washes. You gotta know what you are doing
