      Thanks for watching Zachary. What type of turkey operation do you have? That’s my hope as well a chance to get better at raising birds.

      @@KannmacherFarm two separate farms with 8 barns on each. only 2 drinkers and one feeder per barn though but hold a little over 5k birds in a house. contracted through a company called prestage farms here in south carolina.

      You have a lot more facilities to work on for sure. I believe I've heard of Prestage farms.

      @@KannmacherFarm yeah prestage contracts with a good bit of turkey farmers as well as hog farmers i think. your barns are a lot different from mine with all of the technology and computers. kinda neat.

      Our barns are different. Even the different from the fellow that helped us get started. I’m not sure it me is better growers because the computer takes out the skill of knowing what to do to make birds more comfortable.

    How else would I know this stuff. Thank you for sharing.
    Hope you have the exhaust fans on while running those petrol/diesel machines indoors. Don't want you breathing that crap in along with the dust etc.
    Stay safe and healthy.

      We try to take all the precautions possible when working. Most of the tunnel fan were on to pull the dust away from me while I was spreading the litter. Sometimes it looked worse than it was. Currently when Sherri and I are walking the birds we usually turn an extra fan on.

    What’s the distance between your barns? We’re looking at putting up three barns this spring.

    • @KannmacherFarm
      @KannmacherFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      60’ barn 60’ barn 60’. Each barn is 60’ wide as well. All dictated by the integrator. 100’ minimum on load out end. If you want to talk in more detail email me.

    Do you ever catch up on the sleep you lose during this period of the turkeys?

      A person eventually gets used to it.

    Are you getting ready to receive new turkeys ASAP or do you have some down time?

    • @KannmacherFarm
      @KannmacherFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If things go well we try to take that weekend off. Usually get somewhere around a week between birds leaving and poults coming back. 4-5 days generally is what it takes to clean out. IF all goes well!
      Thanks for watching Garrett

    Enamel is dissolved on teeth by Carbonized soft drinks, a watered down orange or apple juice is better.
